S11 Tuna-Maguro
Madeline A.

If you're into mainstream American style sushi (maki rolls, cream cheese) then this place is worth a visit. We sat at the sushi bar. The chefs were pleasant. Servers were also pleasant but clearly overwhelmed. We tried many things - yellowtail sashimi & maguro were pretty good. They need to work on service, ambiance, greeting & seating customers. All of it. Given the location this could be a pretty hot spot.

My first time here and it was obvious the locals adore the place. At least three couples strolled in and greeted the staff by name. My dragon roll was beautiful and delicious as was the gyoza.

Another Osaka location and another good experience - 4 stars. I'm on a quest to try every sushi joint in the Twin Cities. And this week led me to meet a friend (that lives nearby) at the Stillwater location. I know they're a chain, this isn't a Chef Ramsey sort of place. But for what they do, I think they do a good job. SERVICE: As usual, the service was excellent. Our server was impeccably polite, welcoming, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing. FOOD: The food was good. My friend ordering a dumplings appetizer and a small sushi roll appetizer. I started with a chicken choo choo appetizer and 3 tuna based sushi rolls. All of our food was good. CLEANLINESS: I was happy to see that the restaurant seems to be very clean, including the restrooms. In fact, our server was constantly cleaning in between servicing tables. LOW CARBOHYDRATE: It's easy to eat low-carb, keto, carnivore style at Osaka. I stuck with my usual tuna rolls (that are fairly low-carb), and sometimes I order an animal based appetizer. I always avoid large rice portions, big piles of noodles, added sugar, and anything that might hide vegetable seed oils. My insulin levels and my physician like it that way! I read some of the previous reviews and it looks like things might have been sketchy in the past. But on the day of our visit, everything was good. Thanks, Osaka! -Maxx

Salmon and Escolar Nigiri (SO GOOD)
Joline E.

We grabbed sushi takeout from Osaka because it was in between mealtime and we were famished! The salmon nigiri was soft and sweet and super satisfying. The mackerel sushi was fresh, not pickled, and we much preferred that! The Escolar was a little different than the super white tuna I've had before but buttery and rich nonetheless. Overall great fresh sushi and good value, thank you!

The Love Boat was awesome. Good mix of sushi favorites and nice presentation. Definitely recommend this for sharing at the table.

When does happy hour end?

Typically after 60 minutes. However, I don’t know if they go by the Chinese or Japanese minute.

Recent review of Ten Sushi. We love this local sushi restaurant and come often whenever we're…read morecraving sushi. They have an extensive menu so everyone doesn't have to eat raw fish if it's not your thing. However, we love it. The sashimi pieces are generous and fresh. Service is great. My only issue is that the restaurant is small. Maybe 4 booths and about 6-8 tables. Last night we tried their "Happy Hour". Great food and drink prices and lots of items on the menu. Double sided and full sized sheet of soup, salad, appetizers, sushi, rolls, and drinks. Savings is averaging about 25% according to them.

I ordered the mango lemonade and loved that they offer several lemonade flavored options instead of just one. It wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated, but I was hoping for more of that fresh mango taste. The soft shell crab was good, crispy and wasn't all greasy. I also ordered the sushi and sashimi combo. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the portion was very big I think it could easily feed two people since I had a lot of leftovers. The service was standard, nothing particularly impressive, but our waitress was welcoming and we never felt rushed. She refilled our lemonades quickly and I also appreciated the free parking in the strip mall, which made the visit even easier. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience here and would definitely come back to try more of the menu and maybe even a cocktail.
