Orwasher's is a staple in my weekly routine. Not only do they have fantastic pastries and baked goods, their bread is always amazing. As expected of a household name! My go to breakfast sandwich is the bacon, egg, and cheese. The brioche bread is amazing, soft, buttery, and sweet. You can't go wrong with any of their breakfast sandwiches (trust me, I've tried them all...) and their bagels! Perfect sourdough bagels with that classic tang and fluffiness. The cold brew slushie is also SO good, such a treat on a hot day. I also have to shout out their sandwiches because they sound simple and basic, but they're very well done. Stay far Away. Went in for a toasted everything bagel with butter. They said they don't have a toaster. I said ok just make a nontoasted bagel with butter. They said we only keep our butter in the freezer. I said do you best and try to spread it around. They said we will, but it will be clumpy. I said ok. And to drink I would like a tea with just French vanilla in it. They said because we have Starbucks next store we can't sell creamer !!?,!? I said just skip the whole order and walked out. Orwashers is a bakery in Roslyn, that originated in New York City. I used to visit their location in Manhattan often when I lived on the upper east side. Now that I live in Syosset, I will sometimes frequent their Roslyn location. I stopped in yesterday for the New Yorker, which is a bagel and lox sandwich. It was so good. The rent is too damn high ! And the customers are paying for it,I got a half sandwich, ham and cheese for $10, Mike's hot honey $20 ,sourdough bread $6.50, literally twice the price of anywhere else, that's 100% markup, you guys have no mercy on your customers and apparently you don't care Seriously how do you justify these prices, because of your overhead? I could go to Northshore Farms and get a beautiful loaf of sourdough for $3.50, I could pick up Mike's hot honey for $10, I can get a giant hero sandwich on Fresh bread, ham and cheese with mustard for $10 that would feed three people . It's absolutely disgusting that you guys are getting away with charging double for what things are worth, as I am a regular in the shopping center and CVS I do stop in a lot but after yesterday's experience of highway robbery, I have to say not only I will never come back , I will make sure I will tell everyone I know not to visit your bakery, the people giving five star reviews apparently don't give a F about how much money they spent, you have to have mercy on the people who are putting money in your pocket, I don't think you're going to last through 2024 read more

Stopped in here for the first time to try the pistachio crunch croissant which is going viral. I am all about the Dubai chocolate craze, so I had to try this! The croissant itself did fall apart a bit, but this was delicious and unique tasting. The crunch was definitely there which is the best part in my opinion. I felt there was the perfect amount of chocolate too, not too much and not too little. I paid $13 for two croissants which is a little pricey, but worth it for a treat. This place is conveniently located in a shopping center and they seem to have a large menu with other goodies so I would love to come back soon! read more

I know and LOVED Orwashers at the original location on the east side in NYC. First time at the one in Roslyn LI in Aug 2025..... HUGE disappointment. Rye bread absolutely nothing like the taste of the original location. Even the texture and look is different. No great rye smell when opening the bag. Those of us who grew up on it know what I'm talking about. A second very disturbing aspect was a weird taste note of a cleaner. Disgusting and a turn off to say the least. This review if for the location on the upper east side Ordered bialy's and pletzels from Orwashers. The bialys are amazing. This is what a good baialy should be, The center was done perefectly. There were onions right where they should be. The pletzel otherwise known as an "onion board" is another story. What happened? An pletzel should be flat with tons of onions baked into it. Place is very clean service is very nice, but I just paid $5.01 for a toasted buttered roll. Wait let me break it down. They charged me $1.50 for a smeared bagel then it's an up charge of $1.50 for a brioche roll, another $1.25 for being buttered no charge on the toast than tax. The brioche roll is no grand thing it's bread doesn't taste like anything, just bland. It's definitely not worth the $5. I only have two stars because the place was so clean and the staff was so nice. Otherwise if I could give a negative I would. If I could have stomached a bagel I would have went to Starbucks and spent my money there at least it tastes better. read more

First off.. this place is hella expensive. That being said, you're paying for quality - the staff, the sufficient lighting, the packaging, the RENT, the Tesla charging charging stations in the parking lot, etc. So if you're looking for a bargain, don't come here. Now, if you're looking for the best bakery north of The French Workshop in Garden City, you're at it. I even prefer this place to TFW although there's about eight seats in the whole setting, which means you shouldn't use this place as a WeWork (Psst.... Starbucks is next door). Food wise, the chocolate cake tastes as if the dark chocolate, mousse, and ganache were provided by Lady Godiva herself, the strawberry shortcake perfectly juxtaposes cream with cake and fresh fruit, and I buy the $6.50 sourdough loaf weekly. The BEC tastes like it's worth twice what you'd pay at the deli because it is worth twice as much: the turkey bacon tastes aristocratic, the eggs taste organic and the bread tastes like it was baked in the ovens of the best bakery in town - Orwasher's. read more

I was impressed that they reached out to me immediately to let me know what I had ordered was sold out and they were able to offer a comparable substitute. This was an awesome experience. All the workers are young and very helpful. I had a grilled cheese sandwich which was very tasty. I took home the cinnamon babka cake which was tasteful.and good. What a find! Checked this place out after having lunch with friends in the same plaza as Orwashers. They were having a special on sourdough loaves and rye loaves for only $3 each!!! They were sold out of the sourdough by the time I got to the counter to order, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were bringing out a whole new batch (I figured it was a sale on remaining loaves, but they kept pumping them out!). I got a loaf of the sourdough as well as one of their multigrain loaves, and an olive baguette. All three were wonderful! The multigrain lasted a week in the fridge until we finished it, and the olive baguette was the best olive baguette I've ever had!!! I'll DEFINITELY be back for more of their creations! read more

Visited the Roslyn Orwashers for the first time on Friday. My wife and I have never been to any of their locations. Upon entering we were overwhelmed by the fresh bakery smell and the choices of fresh items. We had no idea what we wanted but the staff behind the counter was very helpful in explaining our various choices. We decided to each get a large chocolate chip cookie and debated getting either the Bubbees chocolate babka or the cinnamon babka but settled for the chocolate. Both the cookies and the babka were incredible! We live about a half hour away and the cookies never made it home. My brother in law was visiting in a couple of days so we thought we would share the babka with him but decided it was too good to share and finished in three days before he walked through the door. We live in an area where good bakeries are few and far between so we are thrilled to find this gem. We will be returning soon to sample not only their breads but some of their awesome looking sandwiches. read more

Store went above and beyond ***** On my way to babysit, I stopped for bread and a sandwich for lunch. Unfortunately, left the sandwich behind and didn't realize till I was unpacking at my daughters house. Called the store - they said no problem, it would be waiting for me at the counter. Explained I couldn't come get it as I was taking care of my 8 month old grand-daughter. One of the employees actually drove to the house to deliver the sandwich. Not only that, he wouldn't accept a tip. Sandwich was delicious and I felt very lucky to be eating it. Thank you Orwasher's! read more

A bit disappointing. Overall very expensive and underwhelming. A fairly large space with no place to sit? The family shot the standard bagels down immediately. Later the same day, I got chewed out for the challah that was over $8. Very dry, no flavor and the texture was not anything we were used to. Nice people operating there and the place is new and clean. Worth a shot to try because it's our regional taste. Went to Orwasher's today, 26th February at 6:30PM. Sign on door states closing is 7:00PM. Doors were locked. As there were several people behind the counter I knocked several times and was ignored. I am wondering if management knows the rubbish they employ and if they will be doing anything about it. In a neighborhood like Roslyn if management doesn't correct this situation they can, within months, kiss this business goodbye. read more

Went in there on Friday morning around 6:52am because I wanted to see if they had a to go menu so my co-workers and I could check it out sometime (we work a couple of blocks down). The girl came up to me and said "we don't open until 7:00". Fine, again, I only wanted a to go menu which I was told they don't have. I went to pick up our order at Starbucks and as I was getting into my car at 6:58 I see a white woman (only saying race because I'm a Hispanic woman) walking out of this bakery with sandwich and coffee in hand. I'm not trying to play no "race card" but I find it odd that I was told I could place an order until after 7 when they're open but clearly they took the time to take this other persons order before they even opened. After this experience, I don't think I'll be trying any food from this establishment. read more

Best rainbow cookies in town... We got an assortment of baked goods for our New Years festivities. The Schlagberry Cake was a 10/10, the chocolate chip cookies were great -- as were the chocolate cake and the dessert cups with the red and white stripes! I have been coming here since the soft open. The place is clean and the quality is always excellent. Recently supply chain and staffing have improved so that almost everything is available by 730 am. I alternate between chocolate croissants and everything bagels with smear. The breakfast sandwich options that include avocado are also great. read more
