Cute bakery with a whole lot of pastry options! Perfect place for a quick breakfast/brunch, they have plenty of tables to dine at.

Looking so much forward to try this awesome bakery that I have visited hundreds of times in new Hyde Park. I saw the photo in newsday of their awesome pancakes, check out the photo it clearly doesn't look like the one in newsday. I had the burrito which was delightful. And the coffee was spot on and not too burnt like Starbucks. I generally judge the restaurant by the number of cars in the parking lot and the number of people in the restaurant. This was Sunday morning, and we were the only one there. It's clearly a one and done café.

Went to buttercooky to get some sweet treats to celebrate and did not regret it. The tres leches cake (which is my favorite) was delicious, moist and perfectly sweet. The fruits as well were fresh. Everyone loved this cake it was finished that same night! I recommend 100% The chocolate mousse was also the cutest thing! It was not overwhelmingly chocolate and was amazing as well. If you're a chocolate fan, you need to try it! Overall, I definitely will be back and the tres leches cake WILL BE my birthday cake this year

Ordered a custom cake from here for a friends birthday. The cake came out amazing, service was prompt and they were flexible when my dates changed overall great experience and would order again.

The iced cafe latte was unusually good--better than what I usually get at most other coffeehouses. I ordered it decaf, unsweetened and unflavored. The barista used the Corsica blend of La Colombe coffee, and I could taste its strong chocolate notes. It was velvety smooth and slightly acidic. I would not start my day any other way again. I am now going on lacolumbe.com to buy the beans to brew at home. The Buttercooky Bakery is in a location that is relatively big for dine-in purposes. The tables are spaced well, and there is plenty of seating. It is a good place to sit with a book or laptop. There is WiFi and plenty of plugs, too. The service is quick, the staff is friendly, and the prices are on par with competing bakeries.

This is the cake I received

Custom cake not what I ordered-no response from owner Such a disappointment! I ordered a custom cake for my granddaughter's baby naming at Manhasset Buttercooky. I chose a cake directly from their catalog at the store. However, the cake I received looked nothing like the one I ordered. See the pix below! The sales person said the cake would be 5 inches tall but the one I received was no more than 3 inches. The flowers were tiny instead of big and beautiful, and the bright pink that they added did not go with our decor. The custard filling was almost nonexistent. I tried numerous times to get in touch with the owner, but he was never available. I emailed him and never received a response.

Came here for lunch with a friend. It is a bakery cafe. Lots of pastries to choose from. We ordered lunch at the counter. Prices were somewhat reasonable. My sandwich was very good and it came with a little salad. The chai latte was delish. There is only street parking available and you can park on the side streets. Decent amount of seating. Service was friendly and efficient. Will have to try the pastries next time!

3.5 We found out no more savory food when we got there around 4:15pm. Too bad, my mom was missing their quiche. Our group ended up getting a few dessert pieces and sharing them, with coffees and teas. Our picks were the Earl Gray eclair and plain cheesecake - we did like them- didn't find them too sweet. So much to choose from but prices are not labeled so have to ask for each item. They still call out when order is ready. Place is clean and modern. Restroom available.

Really poor pull on an oat milk draft latte. This is "full".

One of the older women who works there doesn't know how to pull the draft oat milk lattes, and the cup ends up half full after the foam quickly settles. This is the second time it's happened, and it only happens when one woman does it. When I questioned it, she says that's how it's supposed to be, but it comes out normally every other time. I was in a huge rush, so I didn't have time to argue with her. The photo below makes it look like there is even more in the cup because my dashboard tilts toward me.

Solid bakery. There are many variety of cakes, pasties and cookies. It is very spacious inside with plenty of seats available . The staff are friendly and helpful as well.

Was surprised that a for a more high end bakery that the people working there were picking up the desserts with their bare hands ungloved. There's small little cardboard underneath but it's barely enough to put their fingers on it. I also found the choosing and purchasing process BEYOND frustrating. I was looking for something that didn't have food coloring and didn't have raw eggs (I.e. custard) I had to ask one by one by one (seriously how do you not know anything about your pastries?) and the two different people I worked with (I guess one went on break in middle of taking my order?) were absolutely clueless as to the ingredients, and constantly had to ask a third person. At least he knew. But it made the process much much longer than it needed to be. In the end I made my purchases finally!! But before I picked up my bag from the counter I looked at the receipt and realized they charged for an extra pastry! When I inquired what was in there it was an item that I said I'm not sure I wanted and needed to check with X person if they wanted it. I never said I wanted it. Instead of removing the item immediately, they made me wait about ten minutes. Ten minutes!!!! And I was at the counter!! I didn't leave and come back in. There wasn't a line. Ten minutes with a little one Just to take an item out of the box. In hindsight I should have just left. And for some reason they instead removed all my pastries (ungloved) and put it in a smaller box new box. Not sure why but maybe to keep them from sliding? Now the dessert, sugar! Literally all sugar zero flavor. So much sugar!! I ate one pastry and was so nauseous from all the sugar. There was nothing tasty about it. They look beautiful but wow zero flavor and just sugar. They get 1.5 stars because it is a nice quiet place to sit both indoor and outdoors. In the past we looked into having a birthday cake made there. They have some unique options. The process itself was such a turn off. They had us standing at the counter with a very wriggly baby to show us items. There was an entire counter between us and the whole process felt so cold. Plus we weren't even speaking to the person who makes the cake. I found it odd that they didn't even sit us down. And when we asked for a small sample of just the filling we were told we need to purchase it. For the price of the cake they seriously couldn't go back there and put a small bit on a spoon for us to taste?!?

There's been a decline since my last visit. Pastries (carrot cake, in particular) are less fresh, the service less personal and prices are higher. I got 4 pastries, a sandwich and iced coffee. I would skip next time.

They have a great selection of bread, baked goods, tortes (some gluten free), and seasonally decorated packaged treats - iced heart-shaped sugar cookies, and even football-shaped foil-wrapped chocolates for Super Bowl. Between the treats, jarred jams, and quality kitchen linens-- I could definitely see stopping by here to get something to bring to a party, for a host/house-warming gift, and/or a care package! I opted for the blueberry biscuit because it was something I haven't seen before, and no regrets! It was soft and buttery without being overly sweet. I also got a cold brew with almond milk and (as a bit of a coffee snob) I found it was a little bitter but still good. Free wifi is available and two single-person unisex restrooms are available in the store. A gentle forewarning for the anxious... the yelp description of "inside a charming sneaker store" is a bit of an understatement... It is inside a very high end store, a bit of a maze, laden with security personnel (located in a strip mall of many other high end designer stores)... I thought my GPS took me to the wrong location at first. The pin on the map makes it seem like it's on the side closer to the highway, but you'll want to go around to the back, to the lot on the other side of the strip (further from the highway) for direct access to the coffee shop entrance. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the warm sun and glimmer of a rainbow shining through the giant window

MB has a different owner and the quality in my opinion has gone south. The bagels now are bigger but are way too dough. I recently purchase a pound of lox cream cheese and there was barely 2 or 3 little oueces of fish in the pound of cream cheese. The sausage, egg and cheese and bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwiches leaves a lot to desire. My kids now get all their breakfast sandwiches from Orlando's. When it comes to our hankering for yummy bagels, we go out of our way and hit Munsey Park Bagels on Northern Blvd. MPB has a wide variety of freshly made bagels.
