So I thought this would be a good place to get a massage at. I booked at the beginning of the week with Corrine Lloyd. Their website is not up to date, since it said $65 for an hour massage but it was actually $70. When I arrived for my appointment I filled out a pretty comprehensive health form. The receptionist was very nice and asked if I could pay first, because she was going to go for lunch. The office is very nice inside, there is tea and water, a TV to watch. There was a album of foster children that are sponsored by the clinic. Corrine came out and got me. We went over my form, she asked for a few more details, then she had me hop on the table. As a massage therapist myself, I have never been able to find a therapist that has truly helped me but also made me feel relaxed. Corrine did that! Her technique was very thorough. She has a lot of strength, but knows how to regulate it when needed. She has been a therapist for 12 years and it shows! She worked on everything I asked, but didn't over work anything. She only talked if I talked first. I have never walked out of a massage feeling as good as I did then! I highly, highly recommend Corrine for your massage therapy needs, you will not be disappointed! The initial examination was more thorough than I expected and on my next visit I got a chart indicating which areas of my spine were responsible for my symptoms and it really was helpful because that's exactly what was going on in my body. So often we self diagnose without including the spine in our assessment. For that matter many MDs don't suggest a visit to a chiropractor if their tests all come back normal. So there you are not feeling good but not knowing why. The initial assessment connected a lot of dots and Dr. Lamont recommended a treatment plan which I really made sure I followed to help myself. The results are really encouraging and I now sleep deeper and am waking more refreshed still a bit to go there. My digestion elimination have improved the most. No more IBS. That alone was worth the price of admission. Dr. Lamont always checked on symptoms before every adjustment and on a certain number visits revisited my initial assessment including a foot checkup. Overall I know sounds corny but I feel so much better more grounded for sure. Plus I can tell myself when it's my spine causing my symptom and when to go for an adjustment in the future. A great education professional understanding staff very flexible hours including weekends but the results are the best I've had for my health investment. They are all amazing, and it's easy to get into right away to see one of them. Dr. Lawson (who I have seen the most) is incredibly knowledgeable. Anytime I come in with a problem Dr. Lawson is able to pinpoint exactly what is wrong and fix it. I would never trust another chiropractor. He doesn't just crack unnecessary joints, and he tells you exactly why he is doing what he is doing. On my last visit, I had asked if I could be squeezed in if possible as I was leaving the country for 10 days and my jaw had seized up completely. Last time this had happened was due to stress, and it had lasted a week. I'm unable to eat when this happens as I can hardly move my jaw. Dr. Lawson saw me within 2 hours of me calling. He did enough work on my jaw and gave me exercises so that my jaw was better within 5 hours and hasn't seized up since. I was also able to eat on my vacation and enjoy my time off :)

Like I do with my hairstylists, I hop around to different massage therapists, because they never do quite what I want, even if I give them guidance. Well, I can say I'll be settled for a while. Not only is the location convenient (Scotia Centre), they are available for lunchtime appointments. My therapist was Amber K. She was very professional, and asked me what I wanted to be worked on, and what issues, or injuries I had. I told her I have issues with my back from sitting at my desk, as well as my feet from excercise. Not only did she get directly to where was hurting me, and loosened it up, she also provided suggestions on how to avoid more pain, and reasons why I could be in pain based on my description of how it hurt. At first she didn't talk much, but the more I spoke, the more she engaged me - which is how I feel it should be. If I talk -you talk, if I don't -you don't. Prices are $80 per hour flat fee, which is slightly below standard fees downtown.
