I saw Christopher Ferguson at the Poplar Ave location on March 9, 2026, he diagnosed me with Knee Osteoarthritis and Morbid Obesity. He barely touched my knee and pretty much dismissed anything I said and since "nothing" showed on xray he wanted to give me cortisone shot and send me on my way. Still continued to have major pain in my knee so I went to Titan Orthopedics and even without having MRI, Dr John Lochemes knew I had a torn meniscus. He squeezed/touched/moved my knee several different ways and said he was 99% sure it was torn meniscus, after MRI it was confirmed I actually had 2 tears. read more

I am an honorably retired Air Force member, having served 21 years--19 of which were spent overseas in service to our Nation. Yesterday evening while walking, I injured my right knee. This morning my wife drove me to OrthoSouth in Bartlett for medical attention. However, I was denied care after being informed that the facility does not accept Tricare Prime as an insurance provider. When I asked if I could pay out-of-pocket, I was further informed that OrthoSouth only accepts payment through insurance and therefore could not provide treatment. I find it both appalling and deeply disrespectful that a medical institution would refuse care to a military retiree under these circumstances. In my view, every medical facility in the United States should accept the insurance provided to our veterans and military retirees. To deny service to those who have honorably served--many of whom depend on Tricare Prime--is unacceptable. In fact, staff at the front desk mentioned they had turned away another veteran earlier that same day. This experience left me with the clear impression that OrthoSouth prioritizes profit over patient care. To all military veterans and retirees: OrthoSouth is not a facility you will want to rely on for medical services. Their refusal to provide care is a disservice to the 1% of us who have dedicated our lives to serving our country. read more

listening to goggle maps, I was a bit confused because there are several driveway n multiple offices. But once I got to the correct driveway the building is huge with a huge sign. Once I checked in, my name was called and I was taken to the back. I was surprised by how quickly I was seen. Like I wasnt in the waiting area for no more than 15mins. Once my vitals were checked n placed in a room, the physician came in. Dr. Cole was personable, asked questions, listened to my responses. I got xrays and he discussed a treatment plan. This was my first visit this morning with Dr. Winfred Abrams. The front staff was extremely professional and friendly. It didn't take long before I was called to the back to be seen. Upon meeting my doctor, he was very professional, caring, and attentive and made sure that I understood what would take place in his care. I visited this clinic and was appalled by the unsafe and unprofessional practices. Patients deserve better care and attention to health hazards. Here are just some of what I encounter 1. Dangerous x-ray equipment , used, exposed cables, and non registered techs 2. unsanitary x-ray rooms that double as storage rooms 3. questionable recommendations for surgery (always get second opinion) 4. Neglect of patient allergies, when an MD is told that patient cannot tolerate steroids yet injects steroids, that amounts to negligence and malpractice. Enter at your own risk read more

I had total knee replacment surgery 5 weeks ago performed by the skilled hands of Dr. Andrew Wodowsky. He, his PA Emma Cotton and their assistant Tammi Martin were top notch...the best! Their combined expertise, care, responsiveness and generally great attitudes were the best one could have. My recovery has been been fast with a minimum of pain and a maximum of success aided by the steady and friendly guidance of my OrthoSouth PT therapist Pate Bishop....again, the best! On February 14th,2024, I had a left knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Chris Ferguson. Because my left knee stays swollen and hurts 24 hours a day, I am no longer able to work or walk as I did before the surgery. I have fallen three times in the last 11 months. For months after the surgery, I complained the knee felt heavy, like carrying around a bowling ball to the physical therapist. I was not allowed to see him until 90 days was up post surgery. I decided to see another orthopedic surgeon outside Orthosouth, and he told me that Ferguson used cementless knee replacement. I was never told that he was doing a cementless procedure versus a cement procedure. He was surprised when I confronted him. I asked him about that and said it was his choice.He also won't give you more than 20 oxycodone. I also have developed varicose veins inside the left knee that weren't there before that need surgery and a worsened umbilical hernia that needs surgery. He just shrugged his shoulders when I mentioned the veins to him. He has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. Make sure you check cementless vs. cement before having replacement surgery. read more

We love Ortho South! I first went their for a complex sprained ankle and my son had the same thing about a year and a half later. We have never had any issues with over billing. We pay our standard specialist deductible co-pay and the insurance takes care of the rest. All the staff is very friendly and the doctors are knowable and make you feel at ease. I would plan to be there awhile and not expect to be seen exactly when your appointment is because they give each patient the individualized attention and care they need, and that take time. read more

I had very severe back pain several months ago. It was so excruciating I could barely walk. I went to Orthosouth just to be told I was having back spasms. Went to Campbell Clinic the next day and was told I had a stress fracture on my L5 Spine, basically a small crack. I had spinal fusion and was sent to OrthoSouth Briarcrest for Aquatic Therapy. I live 5 min's from OrthoSouth Bartlett so Briarcrest is a drive for me but wanted and needed aquatic. I get to Briarcrest and they start me on land therapy for the month of Nov. I finally started aquatic therapy December. I am 30 mins from Briarcrest. Twice now I have put on a swim suit and get to orthosouth Briarcrest to be told they don't have my appointment. The PT is sick. No phone call, text or email. I have wasted my time twice now driving 30 mins to be turned away. We are patients. We have had injuries or surgeries and we need PT ... this is not done for fun. We make time in our schedules to attend PT, you should plenty of help covering appts. This is December and MY LAST chance of aquatic PT before my insurance starts over in January. Also the black girl at the front desk who both times says she don't see my appt because its been canceled, this girl speaks so low and in a whisper I can not understand her. My aquatic therapies were scheduled with Taylor. I understand she is pregnant but Ortho South should be better at covering her absents. Very disappointed in this location. read more

Look elsewhere. Don't let their glitsy facilities with all their many locations draw you in. One thing is for sure--they are a money making machine! My experience with Orthosouth was a disaster. After feeling shuffled through without feeling like anyone cared, I dared to speak up to the doctor about my 90 minute wait times and not addressing my pain while waiting on a MRI, subsequent consult, and a nerve block. My only recourse, which is what we consumers do when a business fails to provide good service is to post a review. In doing so, I was blacklisted from Ortho and my nerve block cancelled. It is all good though. Please know there are better options in town if you are in back pain and looking for help. My experience with Mays & Schnapp has been amazing! read more

My wife and I have had great experience with ortho south for 6 surgeries with the very good at his job Doctor lornigan and his very efficient organizer Jenny. My wife is needing ankle surgery now so the speacialist on ankles Dr frayser was going to handle it.We made several mistakes in appointment times that would not have happened with Jenny who does her job very well.So guess in short ortho may be getting to big. I have had 4 surgeries . i had 3 different Drs surgeon at Orthosouth. they all were very nice. but Dr tabor was not the that friendly.the first time out all the surgery tabor had me weighted. he would not touch me he would not check the motor skills in my right knee. all he said I was 20 lbs over there weight limits. what a waste of money and time. ps I will not go back to see this time waster . read more

My Daughter went there for shoulder pain. One of the nurses asked her if she had diabetes. She responded no. When the nurse left the room she started making fun of my Daughter's weight with another nurse and laughing about it. Right outside the room where she could easily hear. She also stated my Daughter obviously is wrong and clearly is wrong. I called the HR department and left a message. It's been a week and still no response. Highly unprofessional. Worst. Clinic. Ever! Don't expect to be seen within an hour of your appointment time. I've been here 2x for a sports injury and, on both visits, I waited over an hour and a half PAST my appointment time. Why bother scheduling in the first place? The check in process is time consuming and co-pay is due at check in. This wait time seems to be the norm - I can't imagine how horrible this experience is for patients who are actually in pain. read more

I have seen Dr. Wolfe on several occasions. He assisted in my surgery in 2005 and he is presently seeing me for a ganglion cyst on my wrist. What's exceptional about him, is that he is efficient, he personalizes the care he provides and his clinical decision is based on evidence-based practice. There is limited wait time, and the staff will ensure you get an appointment within a reasonable time frame. The office staff is friendly and maintains professionalism. We recently had out second experience with OrthoSouth. The doctors and nurses were professional and helpful both times. Everything was fine until it came to the billing portion. I was billed $400 for a short walking boot that only costs $40 online. During the visit, nobody mentioned the high cost associated with getting the boot at the office and I never would have agreed to this charge for a bruised foot. I called the billing office to discuss and got passed around to three different people. The third said he would look into my case and then called back in less than 5 mins. After the "extensive review" of my case I was told there was nothing they could do because I essentially agreed to the charge by letting my child walk out with the boot. He also said "If you think the boot is expensive, you should see the price of crutches." He said that he would put something in place to prevent this from happening to others, but they have reviews from 2015 with the same issue so clearly they know what they are doing, but just don't care to make improvements. I learned my expensive lesson. I hope others can learn from me and make sure you ask for prices before you take any equipment. A walking boot should never be more expensive than the doctor visit and xray! read more

They actually listen and accommodate clients in their personal needs/situations. I am so impressed with every aspect of the way they run their business. I have a back injury and Dr. Dowling and PT Steven Chipman have been amazing. Dr. Dowling went above and beyond to see me when I had an injury that could have put me out of my job. I am an athlete, and he got me through tryouts. Him and Orthosouth are a big reason I am still doing what I love. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend both these professionals, as well as Orthosouth. This sadly has been the second time I have been forced to go to Orthosouth due to injury, but both visits have been great. I have seen Dr. Cole both times first for a broken elbow then tendentious in my wrist. He is great comes in spends as much time as needed with you explains everything and I never had to wait long for x-ray or getting fitted for a splint. Everyone here from the front desk staff, nurses, x-ray techs have been great to work with, never a long wait even when I did not have an appointment. My visit in OrthoMemphis was about a fractured elbow. Dr. Fletcher was friendly. An X-ray was taken to reveal the slight fracture. His advice was to continue normal activities, except no push-up or lift weights. This fracture will heal itself. Any over-the-counter medication such as Aleve, or ibuprofen can be used. That's all. All he did was looked at the x-ray, and felt my elbow. Imagine, what a surprise to have $750 listed as "Surgery" on the bill !! (I have no problems with the X-ray charge and the Physician charge). I called the Billing Department; was told that this is what they do when there is a fracture. Even though there was nothing performed. I don't know where else to turn to have this $750 charge taken off. read more

My review is for Mark Temme. This guy is the greatest! I took my 16 yr old daughter there with FAI and labral tear. We had been taking her to PT at another PT place and they just made things worse and wanted to see her 3 times a weeks for 10 weeks and was in a lot of pain EVERYDAY and worse after her visits. We took her for one visit with Mark Temme and he gave her 4 exercises to do a night and report back in 2 wks. She was able to do the exercises pain free. We went back after 2 weeks and she had gotten stronger. He did more therapy with her and changed up the exercises and we went back in two more weeks. At the third appointment which was a total of 6 weeks, she is pain free for the first time in NINE MONTHS!! I can't tell you how happy this makes this mom, who was thinking this would be something she would suffer with forever. If I could give him unlimited stars, I would! If your child has FAI, don't be discouraged. This guy can help you! read more

I went in for a painful right big toe. Didn't have an appointment so I went to the walk-in clinic, filled out the paperwork and was in to see the Dr. 30 minutes later. Had my x-rays immediately, Dr said I had a stress fracture and put me in a walking boot. Service and Dr were great but the billing was horrid. I checked my EOB a few days later and my Dr charged me $319 for Surgery- Bone/Muscle. No surgery was ever done. He took x-rays, touched my foot, told me I had a stress fracture and put me in the boot. Where was surgery portion? I've had to get my Health Advocate group to help remedy this claim/overbilling. I would ask cost of services if you go here. read more
