This past weekend we had a hard freeze in Houston. My 19 yr old furnace died. Within three hours of my accepting their quote on a new Trane furnace, it was installed and running. I've never had a problem with their customer service or equipment. I trust them to do it correctly and stand behind their work.

The downstairs unit worked properly from day one, but the upstairs unit never functioned correctly. The company also failed to obtain the required permit for the installation, which can be verified through the City of Bellaire permitting website. Since installation, the upstairs unit failed to properly cool the home, could not maintain the thermostat set temperature, and leaked water into my attic. The owners, Justin Turner and Jared Hatfield, sent technicians to my home more than 30 times attempting repairs, but the issues were never resolved. By September 2025, after months of ongoing problems, I informed Jared Hatfield that I no longer trusted Douglas Mechanical and requested they remove the defective system and refund my money. Although their website advertises a one-year installation guarantee, they refused to honor it. Douglas Mechanical also sold me a 10-year labor warranty, but when I hired another HVAC company, I learned Douglas Mechanical had never properly paid for or secured that warranty. I hired Northwind AC to inspect the system. Their service manager stated it was one of the worst HVAC installs he had seen. They discovered the upstairs system did not have sufficient supply airflow due to improperly installed ductwork, which Douglas Mechanical had charged me extra to install. After spending additional money with Northwind AC to repair the ductwork and correct the installation issues, both systems now work properly. I have filed a complaint with TDLR and the better business bureau.

My issue is with whoever answers the phone. You can hear the frustration in her voice. She also hangs up on you while you are saying good-bye, and that is rude. you should always say good-bye. Not my fault the equipment is doing this. Not my fault the service tech did not leave the invoice for us so we know what is wrong. Email supposed to be sent to tell us. Still have not received it. that is why I called. Not my fault! be nice to customers.

I was ready to pay him money to fix light fixtures that went out & had he not…read morebeen 100% honest I would have been charged to fix one of them that had an evenin, night time & sunrise sensor on it. I didn't know it was the sensor had he not been transparent & told me. Whats amazing is that Josh didn't know our financial situation & was coming out to the home to check 3 light fixtures that stopped working. He came out for free even though I told him I would meet him halfway on the bill & give him gas money. he refused to take gas money nor lie about the sensor. He came & climbed the ladder & was outside in the hot sun for about 32 minutes. He took checked all 3 & told me uf we ever wanted to fix one that it would cost $150 each so I told him go ahead and fix the back door light and we will pay you $150 and he said OK then as he went to fix it, he noticed the and told me it's working & about the sensor. Then I offered to give him some gas money and he refused it and he didn't even know that me and my wife did not have any money and we needed to find where we would get the money from but I tell him any of that I was just going to take it our money for. Also they did an amazing job in 2022 re-wiring our home with Copper Pigtails & he was willing to come out & check it all on him. Josh is the most honest & caring person I've ever met for home electric maintenance period.
