Seemed like they don't know what they were doing just connecting things hoping it works, they scratched my CarPlay screen and also widely open my car door and hit a brick and scratched it didn't even say im sorry just said "I knew that would happened" I came in with my music working and left with no music or non working headunit and back up camera no longer working and airbag disconnected including amplifier wires exposed and ruined my dash and then they told to come back the next day and then I messaged them when I could come back and they said they were busy and then I sent another message the next day and they ghosted me and also stole my piece of wood. Let me start by saying I went into Ortega's on a referral from Watson's body shop right across the walkway. The trusted owner told me that Ortega's did good work. I had "new" speakers installed at Nagi's on Palmdale Blvd and the screwed up royally (see my review for them). Besides the referral, I knew this experience would be better. I explained my needs and what was wrong with my sound system, and without charge, they inspected my vehicle and pointed out all the flaws from my previous installation. Poor wiring, faulty connections, and door/window damage caused by Nagi's. Not only was the customer service great, the attention to detail was second to none. One of the installers brought me a cold drink as I waited for inspection on a 100° humid day. I was given a ride home until the services were completed. Updates through text and phone calls helped eliminate the worry. Ortega's under promised and over delivered. My car audio quality is perfect. I strongly recommend you give them your service or at the very least, check them out first. Integrity is hard to find in any business but I promise you, Ortega's has it. Eric or whatever the guy who runs it and owns it is horrible. Speakers he buys sucks. Spent good money there and recently went to replace two speakers and for one, couldn't figure out what was wrong nor did he fix it. Ended up buying a new speaker for the one side he thought he could do and then didn't even work after a week.. lol Just some guy in a shop who doesn't know what he's doing pretty much. Terrible service and they don't know what their doing when it comes to new cars I had them work on my 2019 Toyota months ago for a sub instal and one not only did they take the whole work day to do it they also did a janky unprofessional job on the instal after they added the sub that I bought from them the car has a annoying electric feedback hum noise on acceleration and after several attempts to fix it owner got hot headed and pissed off and gave up on it just to tell me " oh that's just a Toyota thing man they all do that " after further research from others who have sub set up in the same car they did not have this issue i even paid a different more reputable shop to take off the sub Annd wires entirely and look and behold the noise is still there idk what these guys messed up down there but now I have to get this resolved at the dealership and they don't even know what's wrong with it!! Owner told me when I first when in "you want it done right you bring it to us " and the complete opposite was done i do not recommend to take your big investment to them read more

A terrible place, he over charges cuts corners and i know this because I have worked for him, he ripped me off also. I put my subwoofers on consignment and he didn't pay me my money. I did work for him and he didn't pay me for the work either. I went to the city of lancaster and they gave me a print out that he is operating without a business license, so be careful, he also goes to downtown Los Angeles to buy these things half price and charges you more than it would cost from the original company. Got a system put in here.... not the place. If you need travel the extra miles to LA STEREO DO IT. WAY OVER PRICED here. Super super slow at installing there product. Couldn't install my product properly. And not to mention he has screws scattered across his lot with drill bits. Not the place. Very unorganized. read more

It sucks when you have to write a bad review but you want to make sure your bad experience doesn't happen to anyone else. The owner seemed like a nice guy but nice guys don't always equal good business practices. I went to Ortega Audio to upgrade my stock speakers in my Explorer. I explained they were stock and I wanted to upgrade them to a good sounding speaker. He told me not to waste a lot of money on them unless I wanted to over haul my system for $1800. I said no that's too much for just wanting to upgrade them. I asked him what he would go with since he's the expert. He pick out a set and said these will give you a good sound. I told him I'll pay more if it'll give me a better sound but went with his choice. When it came time to pick up my car he gave me the keys and said test it out. Well I paid for a cleaner sound of my stock speakers no mids and no bass. He said try changing the setting and try it out and we'll talk tomorrow. We didn't talk and he didn't return my text message. Save yourself some disappointment and find yourself another business that values its customers. read more

Wow I wish I'd seen Sharon 's review before I went to him. He is a likable dude and promises you a good job. That's not what you get. I came in there on day one because my subwoofer wasn't working. He talked about the Boss equipment I had installed and that it was no good. Well I'm a single mom as well so I'm not trying to break the bank for no music. Anyways I agreed to get an amp he said mine was no good. I told him I'm on a budget soooo. This fool put a few amps in my car and kept blowing them out. He then convince me my radio was no good even though I could see it clearly working in my dash just no beat from the sub. I Agree on a better quality head unit. This all came up to $350. OK this process of him blowing out amps and putting a defective Clarion head units in my car didn't take a few hours, no it took 3 days. On that third day he calls telling me my car ready....finally I thought. I get up there thinking I'm about to drive away a happy customer. We go to check it out and he's playing the radio..1st clue he messing up. Who test their car audio with radio station music. I tell him pop a cd in all a sudden just the bass is working. He said it was working fine though. Either he never tested a cd or he thought I was an idiot. We take it back into his shop and he tryna figure out what's wrong...nothing is Making it work. He then says the Clarion he just installed must be defective ....all of a sudden. We agree on a pioneer replacement and he tells me he would come to my house and just install it and that should fix everything. By this time he had told me he would eat the cost of an amp. Him being a business man why would he do that? Could it be he's blowing out the amps? He doesn't come to my house....gave a lame excuse. Now it's the 4th day I'm irritated. I take it up there to replace the defective Clarion with the Pioneer he said he would give for the same price. This dude get a whole other invoice for me to sign for hundreds more than we agreed on. He had the nerve to tell me he losing money on me....what cause he can't get stuff right. He then proceeded to tell me and I quote "you know how many amps I put in your car"? If that's not an admission that he messing up I don't know what is. I'm heated at this point. I ask him to just take out his stuff I will go somewhere else. I'm not paying that. I'm trying to get him to see that's he's wrong for trying to charge me because he's messing up. It took all these days because he was working on a Mercedes that I guess he was charging a lot for.. so my Lil chevy set there like a abandoned step child. He said I was getting belligerent because I'm getting emotional because of the stuff he trying to pull. I said u know what just take you amp and head unit out my car I will go somewhere else. He goes and comes back with a cheaper price. I tell him no I'm cool just take your stuff out. If he couldn't get it right when we were cool what makes him think think I want him messing with my car after he labels me as making a scene at his business because I'm speaking up for myself. As I'm waiting for him to remove his stuff I walk away slightly. I then notice he's not taking his stuff out so I go see ....he locks hisself in his store because I get on the phone with my people letting them know what he's trying to pull. I already gave him 140 I was going to put the rest on my credit card. I don't understand why he did that. So now I'm here with no working music after 4 days of his antics.
