As the receptionist reads me the date and time, I enter it into my phone and repeat it back for confirmation. Showed up yesterday to my appointment and they tried to tell me that it was not at the time I had in my phone and when I told them it was the date and time I read back to them 6 months ago, she insinuated I was a liar and said she would never make if for that time because it's 30 minutes before lunch (their cleanings typically only take 30 minutes). Needless to say, they would not take me and expected me to take time off work to drive back out there another day. I asked them to have the doctor call me before the end of the day. He did not. I can only assume my family's money is not needed there so I guess we'll be giving it to another dentist that doesn't call its long-time patients liars.

With an all female office, you immediately notice a difference when you walk in and it smells like the appropriate season. They always have a little candle burning. This visit was pink pineapple sunrise and last time in the winter it smelled like flannel weather. That along with beautiful furniture, recently painted calm grey walls, and even designer mirrors, all add to the vibe that this isn't some outdated office. Things like gloves and protective napkins are hot pink instead of white. And there is a legit good playlist of country music and easy going songs to help you relax. You might even get to catch an episode of shark week while your teeth get cleaned. The staff is very patient and takes their time to make sure they have quality work. The schedulers also are super helpful at following up to make sure you remember your appointments too! I feel lucky that I can be a patient here and don't dread going to the dentist with Point Meadows Dentistry.

My first experience with Joy Orthodontics was today. My son's mother has handled his appointments…read morethere prior to today. While she was on vacation, my son let me know that some recent adjustments that they had made had failed. One of the wires was put in wrong and has started cutting the inside of his mouth. And the another one came loose yesterday just from him eating... and it is letting the teeth now shift in that area and causing additional pain (and presumably setting this treatment backwards). So I called this morning. I told them I would be getting him at school at 2:30pm. They said I could call the after hours number (admin girl gave it to me) and they they would come up to the office and meet us for quick adjustments. It's Friday, so we really need this so he's not in pain all weekend. You know where this is going. The "emergency line" is just a voice mail that clearly no one is checking. I have left 3 voice mails and no reply at all. What's the use in an "emergency line" that isn't attended to?

However, peal all that back and you will see the quality and cost of their work is not equal with other offices. I have 2 boys with braces $5k each ,we considered Invisalign for an alternative. They had said it would be the same price $5k or $200 per month for 24 months. I told the I've see ads for $2,000or $48 for 24 months. They justified by saying there was a lab cost which drove the price up. Did some research found they were not truthful in their answers. A dentist office "Smiles" has the same product for $1,800 w/ payment options. I'm taking my third son there to be fitted for Invisalign. They are ripping off hard working people. Please do your research. Dr. Levine is the owner of both locations and you are over paying.

Who needs an Apple a day when you have Dr Tapnio at Beacon Family Dentistry?! Ha!…read more I have been looking for a practice where the doctor puts his patient first and isn't worried about a checklist that needs to be completed before your personal needs are addressed (e.g. compound billing charges) and boy did I find him! Not only is Dr Tapnio all about his patients but he is also very comical, which I really loved. His staff is also top notch, including receptionist and Becky (Dental Hygienist). Becky was full of knowledge and super sweet, I was lucky to have been assigned to her and look forward to seeing her again. I also love how when you walk into the office it has an aromatic smell, which is relaxing, and can be nice especially if you are someone who gets nervous about doctor visits. The smell possibly comes from the extremely healthy living plants along the walls and table stands. I would highly recommend anyone needing a dentist or looking for a dentistry you can trust, PLEASE go by Beacon Dentistry!! I would seriously doubt your visit would be any different then what I experienced. Kudos to the Beacon Family Dentistry team!! ...see you in 6months for my bi-annual teeth cleaning :D

Absolutely awful business, constantly have more issues after a visit than I did before, and seriously? Why does it take 4+ times of giving me a "temporary solution" before you discuss permanent solutions with someone? I will say the ladies are kind, which was the only thing that kept encouraging me to go back, but when I'm told "they'll figure it out with my insurance" and then get over charged constantly even when I clarify that I need out the door prices to budget, that is a deal breaker for me especially when I'm in pain but too scared to go in out of fear of how much they're going to randomly charge me next!

But I go for cleanings every 3 months. I have been to 5 cleanings so far with this office and EACH TIME there is a different hygienist doing my cleaning, and most of them I did not feel was a good cleaning. If I wanted to have a different person cleaning my teeth each time, I would go to the DDS school and be a practice for a student. Thats what I felt like each of my cleanings were. Moving here from Palm Beach County Florida and trying to find all new everything from Doctors, to DDS etc was huge. I became concerned after the 3 visit noticing all new people, but now it is the 5th and final time. I have a new DDS lined up already. My old DDS down south I went to for 8 years and only 1 change in hygienists. Not sure why this office has a revolving door of hygienists. Also they billed me for the cleaning AND a $10.
