But from that point forward it was nothing but being dismissed and not taken seriously. I have already been diagnosed with autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's, carpal tunnel syndrome, mixed connective tissue, undifferentiated, fibromyalgia and experiencing overlap symptoms of a few other autoimmune conditions. I have been on Plaquenil for a couple years now. It helped with the swelling and pain in my hand joints. I have several rashes on my skin with intense itching, also livedo reticularis for at least 3 yrs and never investigate for its source in my vascular system. including break out in hives several times, extremely severe dry eyes, mouth, now throat and nose, too, with more trouble swallowing things like crackers or bread without water to help me swallow it. Sometimes it feels like food is stuck in the back of my throat and I can barely get it down without huge swallows of water and felt like I was going to choke. I have had thousands of dollars of dental work/surgeries done related to the dry mouth and in need of more which I cannot afford. I have trouble swallowing, numbness in both feet for a few years now, weakness in hands and legs, intense sensitivity to heat with hyperhidrosis of the face and scalp, receiving botox injections twice a year in my scalp for that, and I could go on and on. I currently have no idea of what all damage is going on in major organ systems in my body, which I know are progressing and receiving no treatment for it. I have done my homework on all of this and no that there could be serious damage happening that will not be able to reverse or treat.. This all has been going on for 5 yrs and getting worse. I have had several biopsies of my skin for different conditions related to autoimmune and just in the past 2 weeks diagnosed with small nerve fiber neuropathy, which is another autoimmune disease. I am very certain that I also have Sjogren's. Saw him again the other day and he says there are "no more tests to run on me and that I do not have autoimmune disease!!" I was furious of the degree of dismissal by him. I am now diagnosed with ptosis of my eyes and having increased pressure, ocular hypertension in my eyes with blurry vision and was seen by my eye doctor that same afternoon with an extensive eye exam. The opthalmologist now is referring to a neuro-opthalmologist because of his findings. After all of this I stopped by my PCP office to let him know what was going on and my BP was 154/103 a reading I have never had that high before and I know it was due to being so upset from visit with Holdgate. Then Dr Holdgate wrote notes to my other doctors and told them that I did not comply with 2 other tests suggested. In fact, it was my PCP who ordered a PET scan which was done and also to see an Orthapedist, which I did and he injected the bursa in my left hip. Dr Holdgate falsely reported that I didn't follow through on these orders and it was a total LIE. My PCP knows this, he ordered them and got the reports. I will never go back to Dr Holdgate again and I wrote to him about the false reports he put in my chart and shared with other doctors. I DEMANAD that he correct those records and admit he didn't tell the truth about me and was attempting to sway other doctors about my credibility as a patient. I truly resent that. I won't hold my breath for an apology or even a correction. I will never go see this man again. For whatever reason he had a wrong impression and attitude towards me and it showed. There is no reason for this. I would like to see one of the other doctors in this practice as they have several rheumatologists there, but I doubt seriously I would be able to since the encounter with him. He mockingly asked if I wanted a referral to Jacksonville, FL, where there is a Mayo clinic, and I said no. I just can't6 believe all this actually happened and what for? Doesn't make any sense.

I met with Dr. Edgerton and I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things. He listened to all of my concerns, asked follow up questions, and truly made me feel like he was getting the full scope of my issues in order to make the best diagnosis and treatment plan. I watched as he took ultrasounds on my elbow, he explained everything along the way in terms that I could understand, and made me feel so at ease about what I was dealing with and what the future would look like. They know their stuff, and I never had a bad PA or MA in my entire 1.5 years going here. However, I needed a biopsy of my thyroid and the way in which I was treated by Dr. Henderson has me hesitant to recommend them, regardless of what they know. I went in for the biopsy fine, and left in tears. Since then, I've learned that I am not as sensitive to numbing agents as most people (meaning I require more than the average person). I was numbed up, but when she went to get the biopsy I could still feel the needle, and I told her that. She then got very annoyed with me, to the point that even her assistant in the room with us said maybe they should numb me more. Dr. Henderson responded (nastily) that I just needed to "SIT STILL." I kept telling her I could feel it and she finally huffed and stopped trying. Said I would need to be put to sleep to have one done in the future. I've been to other specialists since then and have not had experiences even CLOSE to that. Save yourself the stress of bad bedside manner. You don't have to let a doctor talk down to you just because they're an "expert." I hope for the sake of other patients things have changed. I know plenty of people have had fine experiences, but that's mine and I wanted to share it.

His assistant was so rude told me and my husband and just snippily said to find a urologist (we were new to town) and finally he called at a time he knew my husband was not home but then he yesmammed me on the phone to try to cover up my worrisome questions but then told me to get a resection without information on his end or any kind of decent bedside manner. He was very dismissive, cold and condescending. He was correct about my needing surgery but never spoke to me or or my husband but couldn't wait to blow me off to his buddy surgeon rather than explain his concerns to me like a human being. My GI in nyc was also perplexed by his manner given my slides. He destroyed my confidence in medical care down here. And after I was so terrified I would continue to have the same computer clicking, no-eye-contact doctor (as this is the new way). I was new to a city and very worried. Don't expect comfort from him. The ladies at the front desk as well as doctor are all so sweet when assisting, scheduling, and paying bills. The wait though to be seen by the doctor every visit can take at many times roughly ninety minutes to two hours. Make sure you do not have any scheduled appts or plans immediately afterwards because it will be a while.
