I was in significant pain and honestly wasn't expecting much when we arrived. First, the not-so-great: getting to the ER entrance was a little confusing. The entrance isn't particularly well marked, and once inside, the facility is little dingy. The reception staff are tucked into what feels like a little hole of an office, and the waiting room is worn. The TV was blasting, and someone was watching videos on their phone without earbuds, so it wasn't exactly a peaceful environment--but it's an ER, so I certainly wasn't expecting a spa. What impressed me was the people. The reception staff were incredibly kind. The nurses were wonderful. The attending physician was attentive, professional, and reassuring. The X-ray technician was also kind and efficient. Every single person we encountered treated me with loads of care and patience. Most importantly, the care was prompt and well organized. I was evaluated, had the X-ray I needed, and we were out in about two hours. Probably under two hours. Thank you to everyone who took care of me. You made a painful and stressful situation so much easier.

After two ER visits where I was incorrectly diagnosed with a UTI, I was finally diagnosed with a 5 mm kidney stone on my third visit. The ER doctor initially told me the stone could potentially pass on its own with Flomax. They admitted me due to extreme pain unable to be managed at home in addition to being unable to keep food or water down. However, at approximately 8 PM, a nurse suddenly informed me I was scheduled for surgery at 8 AM the next morning. Nobody had explained why the treatment plan changed or even what surgery I would be having. I repeatedly asked to speak with Dr. Smith (the hospitalist that was working overnight until the morning) that evening, but was told he refused to come speak with me. The following morning, I was abruptly awakened by approximately six staff members, including Dr. Smith, who announced they were taking me for surgery. I had never spoken to the urologist, never discussed my treatment options, and STILL DID NOT KNOW WHAT SURGERY I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HAVING. I was told I could speak with the urologist, but that everything, including the surgery, would still take place within the next hour. When I expressed how uncomfortable I was with this, Dr. Smith angrily snapped, "Well, just discharge her then." He later made a snarky remark about this being my third hospital visit, insinuating that I was somehow a frequent flyer or an inconvenience. I found this particularly insulting considering I had returned repeatedly because I was in excruciating pain, vomiting, and had gone through two previous visits without my kidney stone being identified. I was also told that my kidney could essentially "blow up like a water balloon" if I did not undergo surgery. Yet when I finally spoke with the urologist, he explained that the proposed laser surgery with a stent was not his recommended approach. Instead, he recommended a less invasive outpatient shock-wave procedure and reassured me that my kidney was not going to explode. I was never refusing medical care. I was refusing to be pressured into a surgery without being informed of what was being done to my own body. The lack of communication, compassion, and basic respect was appalling. Dr. Smith's dismissive and hostile attitude made an already frightening medical situation significantly worse. No patient should be bullied, intimidated, or treated as an inconvenience simply for wanting to understand their medical options and participate in decisions about their own care.

They can do some lab work in-house and have results in minutes. This location is much bigger than their one on James Island. Very clean inside with plenty of waiting room seating, although it was basically empty both times I visited. Staff was friendly. They say masks are required inside, but the reception lady wasn't wearing one on my second visit. Usually have one doctor on staff at any given time. Seems to be a Christian / faith-based medical practice, playing religious music, so if this offends you maybe not your place. In and out in under 30 minutes; can't beat that!

His girlfriend could hardly walk because she was so sick. They went above and beyond to take care of her and deal with our anxiety of worrying about his girlfriend and finding our way there. They don't deal with insurance because they are a small practice, but give you everything you need to file with your insurance company. I was actually shocked that the bill was only $300! We saved hours by not going to the emergency room, got better treatment and just felt very grateful to find this place.

His staff is friendly, compassionate, and will go the extra mile to assist you with all of your needs and concerns. After my visit to the emergency room, I made an appointment to see Dr. Johanesmeyer. He saw my X-Rays and we discussed his plan of action has including Ankle repair surgery, fitting me with splints, boots, and physical therapy. I have been prescribed pain medication to hold me over until the surgery. He did advice that due to my multiple broken bones, i will experience arthritis. 3/29 @ 6am I underwent Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is a type of surgery used to stabilize and heal a broken bones. In my case, I had 6 plus broken bones. 2 weeks later I had my post-op appointment. X-rays were taken and I waited for the doctor. Upon removal of my cast and bandages We discovered extensive swelling along with monstrous looking fracture blisters. I was in total shock. Dr. Johanesmeyer Explained to me what fracture blisters were and how to treat them. He also Explained the Titanium hardware in my foot ( I nearly fainted). He went over the process of the surgery along with the incisions he made around the fracture blisters and why. My stitches are neat, and the incisions were all in straight lines. I must say he did a wonderful job. Dr.Johanesmeyer advised me to return in a week to see if the swelling goes down enough to remove the stitches and fit me for a stabilizing boot. He also provided me with pain medication and Gabapentin for my burning, tingling, ice picks, and cold nerve pain. 1.) Office Staff : 5 2.) Location: 5 3.) I am looking forward to recovering from this injury and getting on with the rest of my life through Dr.Johanesmeyer treatment plan. During my follow-up phone call with Stacey, I was trying to better understand why I was being referred elsewhere instead of scheduling directly for imaging. Unfortunately, the conversation became unnecessarily tense and dismissive. I felt spoken to in a passive-aggressive and condescending manner while asking questions about the process. I understand medical offices are busy and stressful environments, but professionalism and patience matter, especially when patients are already confused or dealing with health concerns. People make mistakes, ask questions, and need clarification. The way staff communicate can greatly impact someone's experience. I hope the practice takes patient communication seriously moving forward, because no patient should leave a call feeling belittled for trying to understand their care process.
