We decided to fulfill our craving for some seafood and it didn't disappoint. We were given some recommendations and the staff were super friendly! We tried the catfish platter with seasoned fries, shrimp poboy, Louisiana bowl, peach crumbl, and lemon cake. Everything was extremely fresh and hot. The shrimp was tender and had a nice flavor to it. The catfish was moist and their remoulade and coleslaw definitely was a great combo. The bowl was seasoned nicely and it's a little spicy (if you are trying other items eat this last as the spice can overpower other flavors). The staff was genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. You could tell these were people who actually enjoy what they do, and that energy makes a difference. Five stars, no hesitation. The space itself was clean, well-lit, and inviting. For a takeout-forward spot, they've done a great job making the eat-in experience feel comfortable. It didn't feel like an afterthought. Another five stars. Now, the food and this is where I have to be honest. I ordered the Chicken Po'Boy and the wings. The bread was soft, the chicken was fresh, and I appreciated that. But seasoning? It was nearly absent. The sandwich was edible -- nothing offensive, nothing exciting. If you've never had a real New Orleans po'boy, you might be satisfied. But if you've actually been to the Crescent City and experienced the real thing, this will feel like it's missing something fundamental. I settled on 3.5 stars for the food, and I'm being generous because the ingredients themselves were quality the kitchen just needs to be bolder. The wings were actually the highlight of the meal. The regular Menu price is $9.00 so one would assume this is a special for the day (Thursday) . Cashier advised that $9.00 was on the cash register and she had no control of the sign. She therefore did not honor the signs price stating she would Check with the owner but the price is $9.00 and was very dismissive. As I was on the way to an appointment, I did not have time to go back and forth with her over $1.00 but they need to get this together. Don't advertise what you don't sell!!! ... Wifey found this place on Youtube, so we took the 15 minutes ride for a proof of concept! First off, the location is good in a strip mall. The service was very good and professional. We opted to eat in and there's plenty of seating with excellent spacing. Level set, whenever I go to Po'boy joints, I always get the oyster because all of the others I can cook at home. Wifey went for the dirty rice and a side order of fried shrimp. For dessert, the peach crumble. Everything was superbly cooked and very flavorful. If you are in a hurry, call ahead because everything prepared to order and very fresh, so your wait can be 5 -15-minutes depending on the order. This place was outstanding! Just stumbled upon it after googling food in waldorf and lucky for us the pics of the food delivered big time! The light batter on the shrimp was super delicious and flavorful. Not spicy at all, for all you white people. The catfish platter -- this shit clapped! I thought they fried it to perfection, we had 5 pieces ranging in size so its probably weighed out for portion size. I would say around 6 oz of fish. The Cajun fries and slaw rounded out the platter and we got a house sauce with it which was like a mustard based dairy sauce. Dont forget your salt for the fish platter! We got another staple the Louisiana bowl with onions, peppers, red beans, rice, and andouille sausage. This had a lil bit of heat but definitely a carb heavy meal. We did get two desserts made fresh in house. The lemon pound cake was tart and sweet, a great balanced dessert. The peach crumble was outstanding. Tons of diced peaches, brown sugar, and cinnamon! Really solid place. Food was fresh, delicious and served quickly for food that is made to order. My husband and I came in for a lunch date and dined in. The environment was nice; very clean. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. I had the shrimp po'boy and he got a three piece whiting and the surf and turf bowl. Everything was flavorful and the bread that houses the po'boy was so soft and had a nice outer crisp. If I had one change it would be to the coating on the oysters; it didn't hold up well at all. Maybe using something like a tempura batter would help execute that sandwich better. Other than that it was definitely an excellent experience that will surely have us coming back through the doors. They have so many other things that they offer like pound cake, gumbo, and an array of other po'boys and seafood platters. Being a southerner, I had to try this place. They are still in the "soft opening" stage so not everything on their complete menu is available yet. Go now, don't let that deter you. They have ApplePay already though. I ordered the NOLO Favorite Poboy, a combo of fried jumbo shrimp and "head sweating" VG sausage. If you can't take the heat, don't order this. If you are a none-mayo person, say no mayo. I like mayo so I had no problem especially since there were jars of Hellman's on their shelves, my fav. The sub roll is perfect, just a little hard like needed. I couldn't eat all the roll because my appetite has gotten smaller as I age but I really enjoyed some of the roll. I ate all the good stuff on the inside of the roll. My partner ordered a shrimp platter that had 10 jumbo size shrimp, VG fries, and a tiny salad. All VG. She ate 6 of the shrimp and save the other 4 for breakfast. We kicked in 6 chocolate chip cookies and our bill came to $41.00 before tax and tip. The wings were the biggest disappointment. They also tasted like they had come straight from the frozen food section, baked in the oven, and then tossed in sauce. The texture was off, they weren't juicy or tender. Instead, the meat had a processed, rubbery, slightly chewy consistency that didn't taste like freshly cooked wings. The sauce couldn't hide the fact that the quality of the chicken just wasn't there. The apple crumble and peach crumble were okay. I would get it again. The Sandwiches came out quickly, were pretty large, presented VERY well and frankly, darn delicious. The Shrimp were large, clean and seasoned and fried to perfection. The bread was delicious as well, soft with a slight chew and the Lettuce and Tomato were fresh, crisp and a nice addition. All culminated into a sandwich that at first seemed a bit pricey, but ended up being worth every penny. The Star of the show for me was the Remoulade. It was AMAZING. Ive never had better...Even in the great city of New Orleans. I cannot wait to go back and try the other offerings. This new place is something to watch.
