We had an insect and mouse problem. They sent the first tech out basically at dark. A little hard to do an inspection at that time. They put a few rodent traps in the garage (no bait) and a few glue traps in the basement. We called them to come out and increase the amount of traps as well as empty a couple others and spray for bugs. They did spray for bugs but nothing with the mice. Called again. Scheduled again. And they no call no showed. From the other reviews I would say that's par for the course. Went with Kwik Kill instead. They did cancel my services and gave me a 50% refund since they did do some services. I think that was fair. I gave them a second star for that. read more

Requested copy of agreement three times and have not yet received it. Original price was 230.00 when service was preformed price was 430.00. Not at all happy with the professionalism of Orkin with the exception of their technician that did the work. read more

We moved into an apartment in Oct 2019 and I immediately began getting bug bites every night. I knew it was bed bugs but just couldn't find them. Eventually I was able to find two casings and kept them in a baggy. We tried a DIY method, we purchased a highly rated steam cleaner and heat treated our bedroom and living room. (Our apartment is only 1100 sq ft so we felt this was good). Then to be thorough we also set off bed bug bombs. About 6 weeks went by, and we started getting bit again. So this time we decided to go with a professional service. Orkin quoted the lowest cost for an inspection so we went with them. At first we were impressed- they came out within 48 hours however their "inspection" lasted 5 minutes. I had a bug in a bag and he said "ok that's all I need to see" and all I said was..."we paid $100 just for that???" He Informed us that they charge an inspection fee, but that's because some people send them on wild goose chases, so they need to make sure it's legit. He said he wouldn't charge us for the inspection, and quoted us $600 for our treatment. We were thrilled! Fast forward to the actual treatment where we realized the unprofessionalism of their service. 1. a different guy came out to do the treatment and knew literally nothing, hadn't even talked to the other rep that did our "inspection". He was asking me very thorough questions about the severity of our infestation that apparently should have been investigated during our inspection but weren't. This was extremely upsetting because now we're anxious and in the dark about whether or not our treatment plan is adequate. 2. the initial rep told us the treatment should take about two hours, and then we needed to stay out two hours after that to let the chemicals dry. So we made arrangements to be out for 4 hours...the treatment took forty minutes. in that short time, he destroyed our apartment and wrecked our bed frame. I understand that they need to get every square inch sprayed, but he was extremely careless with our personal belongings. 3. they charged us for the inspection anyway. & When we called to ask about it/get it sorted out he said "oh well we typically charge $900 for apartments your size so we already kind of cut you a deal. But I'll see what I can do." Which would have been fine, but that's not what we were promised. 4. Once the treatment is done and they have your money, they DO NOT CARE. We called right away after returning home, because we wanted to make it known we were upset that our bed frame had been damaged. He answered and he said "yeah that happens." And as mentioned above, we tried to get our money back for the inspection, and he was supposed to look into it. but instead he just stopped returning our calls. It's been 10 days since our treatment and we've called 6 times, and nothing in response. Overall extremely disappointed with their service. They're sloppy, inconsistent, and fail on their "customer satisfaction guarantee." Only good thing is that the bugs seem to be gone. But I'd recommend going with another service if able. read more

A joke of a company. Rescheduled my service 5 times in just the month of June twice in one day. I asked to have a service manager call me but they have not called. Each time I would have to take off time from work to meet with them only to have it rescheduled again. I would think twice before I renew my contract. read more

Absolutely abysmal experience attempting to use their mosquito control services. The short version? (Multiple) no-shows and no-calls, wasting several hours of my PTO and forcing me to follow-up multiple times until I finally decided I'd like mosquito control sometime this summer and took my business elsewhere. The long version? Early last week, I filled out their online sign-up form and picked a 2-hour timeslot the following Monday for the first consultation that requires a person to be there. Everything about the process was easy and things seemed off to a great start. I decided to call on noon that Friday to confirm Monday was still a go, as I'd received no follow-up from the local Orkin office. I was put on hold for nearly ten minutes after my information was gathered, then told I would be called back by the scheduling center. At about 5 PM that Friday, I received a local call from what I assume was a technician asking about what time I wanted him over on Monday, as he said the system had marked several time slots, including one at 7 AM that he recommended against as the fogger is quite noisy. I stated I'd signed up for the 10 AM-noon time slot online, and he said someone should be able to get there. That Monday, around 11 AM, as I waited at home for the appointment, I was called by the local scheduling center asking if I would be okay with an appointment on Wednesday (no time frame provided), with zero reference to any of my previous conversations with them. There was absolutely no record of the technician who called me on Friday saying they would be over on Monday, and they stated that they absolutely could not send anyone that day. I asked if someone really needed to be there to greet them, and was told it was an outdoor service so that was not required, so I agreed to Wednesday. (Really, not spraying for mosquitos INSIDE my house? *sarcasm* And yes, that had contradicted what I'd read online, but I wrongly assumed they knew best.) On Wednesday morning around 7:30 AM, I went downstairs and happened to see an Orkin van backing out of my driveway. I thought it was very strange, as the technician the Friday previous had recommended against an early morning time, so it seemed weird they'd already be there. No note had been left on my door, and I was unsure whether the property had been treated or if it was safe for my pet to go outside. I called the local scheduling center again, who said they had no record of me on the schedule for that day (??). It took them several hours(!) to contact the technician who was in the area, and I was eventually told that he'd said I had been a no-show after ringing the doorbell several times. First, as you'll recall, I had been told that someone being present was not required, and--if that was the case--I had not been given a time slot (apparently Orkin assumes no one works). Second, I had been up for an hour before then, and have a loud, fully functioning door bell, so I'm more than skeptical that it was rung even once. The local scheduling center was all apologies for the prior miscommunications, and offered to come out Friday between 10 AM - Noon. Well, it's Friday, and after taking off yet another couple hours from work, the 2-hour time window has passed. I called, AGAIN, and after being put on hold AGAIN to see what the technician had to say, I was told that the service could not be performed as it had rained earlier that morning, and I should've received a call (spoiler alert: I didn't). Also, it rains a LOT here in the summer, so I would think they'd have a better contingency plan than simply wasting their customer's PTO if a few sprinkles fell. They offered to come out tomorrow AM, but--given their impressive track record thus far--I'm not so foolish as to agree, and I'm taking my business elsewhere. I honestly don't know how a company can operate when it is so disorganized. Too bad - someone else I know uses this service in a different state and has great results with it. 5 stars for special, targeted services - if you have a special pest case that needs immediate/isolated attention, their special case reps do a great job. Very professional and knowledgable. 2-3 stars for reoccurring service - wasn't worth it. We moved into an older home and were told there had been mice in the past. My husband travels a lot, so we decided to invest in the reoccurring, every other month service. Sure enough, we heard scratching noises in the wall so we wanted our Orkin rep to check the attic during his visit. He said it wasn't necessary to check the attic at that time. It would have taken just a few minutes to check the attic, but he didn't. The scratching continued until our next visit 2 months later. I insisted he check the attic this time, and sure enough, it had signs of mice. Since then we think those pests are gone, which is great... Just wish it had happened sooner... he didn't check our 2nd attic until the 3rd trip. About 6 months later(while still getting the every other month service) I started getting bites in the middle of winter. It was not bed bugs. We called our Orkin rep to see If he could come do a special inspection. He said it was probably just dust mites and said he didn't need to come in. I finally called the main office and requested an inspection - I was getting bites for over a month. They sent a different Orkin rep who did an excellent, thorough investigation of our entire house in one visit, gave some great tips and scheduled a return visit for a couple weeks later. But then we had to manage two separate reps and were told they had to remain separate: One for "special cases" one for regular monthly treatment. I understand that division of labor may be useful for their office, but why burden the customer? I had to accommodate 3 visits in the two weeks. They aren't long visits and the reps are very nice, but waiting for a window of time is a nuisance once occasionally, let alone multiple times when you work full time. If that thorough, "special case" inspection I described above had happened every visit, I would be happy to continue paying for the every other month service, but most of the time the service has been nothing more than what I can do on my own. I can spray the interior of my house, the exterior or my house and place bait on my own. We were just disappointed not to receive any additional care/attention by being regular customers. We canceled our service. That being said, if you have a special pest case that needs immediate/isolated attention, their special case reps do a great job. Minimal improvement after 8+ months with ORKIN. I have ants and spiders in my home- within days of the technician spraying my entire home I continued to have ants (slightly less than the previous week). My technician was a super nice guy and came out between scheduled visits as the ants were still abundant. He told me it was normal that the ants returned before the next scheduled visit- silly me, I believed him! Very frustrating when paying $130/visit. I cancelled my service yesterday without difficulty but they refused to refund my latest payment as their guarantee states. read more

Worst pest control ever. Year contract and in that time technician never checked outside of house to determine if rodent problem initiating from there. It was. Manager was not nice in negotiations and there is no "satisfaction guaranteed," just an unending rodent problem after over a year of money wasted! read more
