This week's task was handling a potential infestation of rodents. Oh joy! Nothing like having your home be a home for unwanted critters, and, well, eww. Roberto showed up on time, even messaging when he was on his way, listened to my concerns, and took a look around our basement. I was relieved to find out that it did not appear as if we had a big problem, or at least as big of a problem like I had feared, and that he would look outside as well. Once outside, Roberto inspected the house and found the likely point of ingress for mice. It made total sense because the gap in the siding coincided with where the soffit for the ductwork is in the basement. He gave me quotes on the services that were available, ranging from quarterly visits to a one-time sealing of the house, and then gave me some ideas on what I could do to handle some things myself. The service charge was $99, and if you sign up for one of their quarterly services or another one of their offerings, then that service charge is rolled into part of the overall fee. I was super-pleased with that part of the arrangement and I look forward to utilizing their services. Very responsive, easy to set an appointment, and a relatively thorough inspection, all in the span of less than an hour. Great experience!

It cost $300, and they did not do anything inside. They said that they would recommend monthly follow-up visits for more $$, and they are scheduled to come back next week to check the exterior of the house. They also recommended putting up our dog food bowl and trimming the hedges in the back yard to be further from the house. We completely these things. We still have mice. And I am unsure how worthwhile this service is? I will wait and see if there is any improvement after this next visit, and will update my post afterwards.

The call numbers all go to the same place and they have said for the past week they are having high call volumes and to leave a message and it will be returned in 24 hours. Have left 3 un returned messages so far in a week's time. Was flat out lied to by the service tech when he said he knocked down wasp nests- had another company come out and they found 13 and showed them to me. I need to cancel this contract beyond disappointed with this company! Do not sign up for their service. Can't even get ahold of someone at the call number to cancel let alone talk to. This post was brought to the attention of the local Terminix. They called me to discuss the situation. Will see how the rest of the contract period goes.

It is not a surprise when you Google search terminix that you cannot see they're ratings or reviews like other pest control companies in your area. Our facility will now be looking for another contractor to handle pur pest control needs. This same technician (Lee) had complained about the fact that we feed the birds and even though we had reported very large mice or rats getting into the house, did not place large enough bait stations (a local exterminator recommended much larger stations and correctly identified the critters as Pack Rats).
