I have been to this salon twice. The first time I saw Selwa for a cut and a lesson on how to style my wavy/ slightly curly hair. She was awesome! The salon is bright and relaxing. I would not hesitate to recommend Selwa for any type of hair. She is an experienced stylist with a great sense of what looks current. Yesterday I came here and needed a cut and highlight. Selwa was not available, so I saw Alyssa, who has less experience and so was a slightly cheaper price. I am so happy with the result! She took the time to ask me about what I wanted and was able to merge the overly highlighted ends of my hair with my roots for an overall cohesive higlighted color. Alyssa has a calm and competent presence. I am so glad I found this salon! read more

Had such a fantastic, spa-like experience here! I would especially recommend Katie, my hair stylist, who cut my hair and gave me a personalized scalp treatment. I'm so happy with how Katie discussed with me both hair style and hair & scalp care; and how the final look turned out! read more

I've had such a great experience with Ana at Origin Salon! She's been doing my lash lift and tint for about three years, and my lashes always turn out absolutely beautiful. Ana is currently an apprentice, but she's truly a hidden gem. She worked as an esthetician and did lashes for years in her home country, and that experience really shows. She's warm, professional, incredibly detail-oriented, and always makes the entire appointment feel comfortable and relaxing. Her lash lifts and tints are especially amazing--she has a technique that makes my eyes and lashes just pop while still looking natural. I honestly haven't had results like hers anywhere else. I've also had lash extensions done by Ana, and she has such a good eye for what works with my face and features. She takes her time, pays attention to every detail, and the results are always gorgeous. I'm so happy I found her and would absolutely recommend Ana to anyone looking for a lash lift, tint, or extensions. She's incredibly talented! read more

Completely unprofessional. When I walked in was told 'your stylist is busy with other stuff' and they cancelled my appointment. An appointment I made weeks ago. They didn't even apologize. Just got told no one is available. Save yourself the waste of time- these folks don't appear to want customers. read more

Amanda's my stylist! I fly all the way from California to see her. Blonding skills are on point and amazing to get you the look you want. I promise you won't be disappointed choosing her. The salon is so nice too! I love the big windows good for people watching while you're sitting. read more

Worth the wait for the news salon! It's beautiful and sleek and modern. My first visit with Katie and she's awesome. Great consultation, massage and cut and style. The hair washing chairs...I want one at home! That's for a great cut and relaxing morning. See you in 9 weeks. read more

the salon is very cute and nice inside.... but they gave me the worst haircut of my life. I booked a curly cut (which is $120 vs their regular $80) expecting to get someone who knew how to cut curls and was trained in the curly cut technique. I got a regular haircut and was charged the cost of a curly cut "because I have curly hair". I literally left the salon with a blowout. but even besides that it was a terrible hair cut. the super short layers she gave me that I didn't want are uneven, each side of my head looks completely different. its a bad haircut period, cherry on top was getting charged extra for a curly cut that I did not receive. read more

Saba was my stylist and she was not only accommodating to my style request but gave me recommendations- she made me look and feel amazing! The scalp massage was perfect and she was very thorough and did not rush through the appt. I felt valued and so relaxed. The vibe was nice, clean and their products are very high quality and natural! I highly recommend this salon!!! Both my sister and I went and when I'm back in Seattle, this is where I will go! Thank you! read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for an Aveda salon. Origin was listed on the Aveda website as a concept salon, so I called for an appointment. I was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks. Overall, I think the cut I got was ok, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I realize that my hair cannot always look like a picture I bring in, but I really think this cut was off the mark. I didn't notice it so much in the salon, but when I went home and looked closer at the style, and as I've styled it since the cut, it is not very much like the picture I came with in the salon. I got a shorter version of the exact same cut I had when I came in the salon, whereas I was looking to change up the style. The salons in this area are pretty $$$, so I was somewhat disappointed that I didn't get the change-up I was looking for. The stylist that cut my hair did not wash my hair, as they had someone else do this, so the stylist did not see my style when I came in the salon. That is probably not necessary, but I would have preferred to talk to the stylist before my hair was washed by another person. My biggest concern is this is not an Aveda salon. I did not see any Aveda products or advertisements in the salon. The stylist used products that were not Aveda on my hair. I was halfway through my haircut when I realized there were no products on the counter near the chair and the stylist came back with non-Aveda products to use on my hair. I looked around before I left and there were no Aveda products on the shelf. I double-checked when I got home and this salon is listed on the Aveda website, but the Origin website has no mention of Aveda. I have had my hair cut/styled exclusively at Aveda salons for decades, so I will be reaching out to Aveda for clarification on this salon's designation as an Aveda salon. Also, beware of where you park at this salon. I thought I was in the parking lot, but came out to find a note on my vehicle threatening to tow it if I parked in the lot again. There is a group of shops in the same area as the salon but they have a different parking lot. There are no warning signs on the parking spaces and no one mentioned this was an issue when I made the appointment. A heads-up would have been appreciated. So, I gave this salon an average rating due to the factors above. I don't think they are a bad salon, but they could be better. They also need to clear up the Aveda designation. read more

I had three stylists work on me total and it was such a fun day! I had a lot of regrowth and needed grey coverage with a major haircut. I enjoyed chatting with all three stylists and they each did a great job with my hair. I love that it was a busy yet quiet salon which was not overstimulating. Shampoo room was small and relaxing and the apprentice gave a great shampoo. Prices were typical- hair services are a luxury and worth the money to pay a professional. I'm happy I found a place to regularly get my hair fixed up. Also, Aveda products are always a win! read more

Love this salon - excellent curly hair cut, styling tips & tricks, with an amazing product line (Davines)!

Love this salon and spa, services and staff are incredible. I see Selwa for my hair and she also cuts my young daughter's extremely curly hair. She's amazing all around, color, cuts, and education around styling and products is tops! She is also one of the nicest people I've met, I want to send everyone I know to see her!! I also had a Hydra Facial with Sydney and she's great as well. I've worked in the spa industry for 15 years, and she's one of the good ones! My skin looks and feels great, and she's very passionate about what she does. read more

I got a blowout here and it was fantastic! The shampoo and conditioning treatment was so relaxing and included a scalp massage. I swear my hair has never felt so clean! I loved the vibe of the salon, too - lots of natural light and very much has a spa feel to it. My stylist, Katie, was great at her job and had great attention to detail. The rest of the staff is very friendly and professional. I left feeling pampered and relaxed :) read more

Best blow outs in Redmond Aveda products & fabulous staff. I have a lot of hair & hair goals and Selwa has really been amazing to work with over the past year, she is my hair hero!! At my first appointment she really listened to me and helped me create a plan to get my hair healthy again. I've since gone in regularly for color, cuts, blow outs & other treatments such as keratin. I have thick complicated frizzy/shair so it was important to me to find someone who knew my hair type and could style my hair the way I like it. I've been to all the blow out bars on the Eastside & this place really is a hidden gem in Redmond. The Salon offers a blow out pass that is very competitive. I am a huge fan of Aveda products & therapies and you can see the results in my hair. The entire staff is great! This is a family run business & I'd feel confident with any stylist at this salon. Though I am partial to my stylist Selwa, Melinda recently did a blow out for me & she is a beach wave guru! read more

Origin Salon Spa - My hair post color/cut - Hair Salons Near Me - Redmond, Washington

I came in today for highlights and a haircut. The woman who cut my hair was very nice, very communicative, and was a delightful person. She did an EXCELLENT job with the highlights, especially since I wasn't even sure what I was going for with them, but the haircut I got was not only not what I had wanted but from where the longest part is now to where it used to be, it's 20cm shorter. I showed a photo of the haircut I wanted, which was a photo of myself right after getting it cut in 2015. I asked for that cut but more length if possible and for my bangs to be trimmed as they were. Before the highlights, she showed me how much length she wanted to take off and then cut off a piece to reference to for after the highlights. That length was fine, it was about 7cm to cut off of the longest part, hair still falling somewhere at my breasts where I like it, but the end result was sooooo much shorter. I didn't state that I wasn't okay with more than 4" off since the length she showed me she would cut was less than that. I wanted to cry. Someone else had to come in and fix the way the layers were done because it was more of a choppy shag look than what I wanted. The end result wasn't a bad cut, except the bangs (I wanted them just trimmed and evened out but they're... layered? in a way I don't like on me) but the cut isn't "me" at all . I didn't have my glasses on to see how much length was being taken off or what kind of layer shape I was getting, but I thought it would be okay since she had marked off the length at the beginning. I am thankful she brought someone else over when she didn't know what to do to get the shape I was going for. read more

My search has ended on the corner of 85th Street in Redmond . I have found the dream team of hair colorist and hairdresser extraordinaire and I will share with anyone who is in search of perfection! Anna , the owner and creative director, is a true find and incredibly gifted professional. Her haircuts are not rushed but rather precise and planned . Yesterday was my haircut, today I have received more compliments than I have ever received. If you demand the best .. go to a stylist who demands the best of herself . The colorist Alyssa is as exacting with color as Anna is with styling. The salon is a true gem tucked away in Redmond. I have found hair heaven . read more

Even you **paid** the service in advance (giftcard,  Group-on etc), you must provide credit card number with CVV(security number) to **reserve a spot**. They are collecting unnecessary personal credit card information over the phone. I provided my credit card number and ex-date, no security code -- I said that i can give them the card when I get there, but they not allow me to book the service at all. I don't want they store all customer's credit card information with security code to reserve a spot. It never happens around other salon. Only here read more

Selwa absolutely saved my hair! I came in with extensions that another stylist had ruined, and she matched them perfectly to my hair. My hair itself feels 10x better as well after the treatments that she used. I'm so happy to have found my new regular stylist. read more

My hair is long, wavy, and has grown so much since the pandemic. I didn't have high expectations since I'm extremely picky with how my hair is cut. Tess did such an amazing job! Aside from her talent with styling hair she made me feel so comfortable. She took in my input and did everything I asked for. It is extremely rare to find a gem like her. I highly recommend Tess! I'm going back just to have her style my hair. The only peeve I had with the salon is that they have added an $5 charge for sanitizing their salon for you. They state it is for PPE. They also added a $3 charge for an eco-fee???? So if you go expect that you are paying $8 more to your cut. I mean shouldn't they tell you that before you make an appointment. It was unexpected. That is why I docked off a star. read more

I want to celebrate Selwa, she is a very creative colorist. Having gone to the same colorist for many years, pre-covid, and having her leave the salon I had been going to really left me in a quandary. A friend recommended Origin's and Selwa and I am a very happy lady. She is not only listens to me but makes suggestions, has a very warm and friendly personality. Plus the salon is very pleasant and there is ample off street parking. read more

I have finally found my stylist! Tess did a GREAT job on my hair. Love the cut and the way she styled it. I'll be going back!!

Best salon on the east side. The stylists demonstrate superior expertise and professionalism. The staff overall are sweet, friendly and attentive. I'm particularly impressed with their attention to safety amid the pandemic: I've never been to a business that takes customer and employee safety more seriously than this place. They adhere to up to date state mandates, require preventive measures, and maintain strict safety protocols throughout the entire visit. I felt very safe and comfortable! Selwa can do it all, and is honest about how long the appointment will be, can explain the scientific reasons for her methods, and is warm, thoughtful and keeps your preferences at the forefront. I'd never go elsewhere. read more

Great experience! I had been looking for a good salon and I think I've found it! Selwa is extremely knowledgeable and personable and did a great job with my cut and color. Highly recommend! read more

I'm visiting Seattle and scheduled a session with Selwa just for base color. I was so impressed with everything about her, and the salon. It's a soothing, calming space. Selwa did everything beautifully--small details I notice that often aren't done--or it takes several sessions for a new person to get to know you and your hair. Her scalp massage was fantastic. She thoroughly washed the back of my head--often I am staining my pillowcase after a color. She was enjoyable to talk to. She did a great blow-out, just the way I like it. And, she seemed to know exactly the right products to keep my frizz prone hair to be manageable in the Seattle humidity. Colleagues were commenting for days on Zoom calls how great my hair looked. I will make a point to come here whenever my travel brings me in this direction. read more

So super happy, and delighted to post another rave for Yasmeen. She was so so patient with my back and forthing on what I wanted and really took time to help me talk through it and figure it out. I feel like we have a Plan for my hair that's been through way too much, and it looks so so so so much better than it did before I sat down in her chair and she worked her magic! Also, she is just the sweetest spirit with such a kind heart. Such a pleasure to spend time with. (pics to follow!) Thank you! read more

I got my full highlights done here. Superior results, owner has good attention to details and I left satisfied!

Best salon in town! I have been going here for quite some time now and absolutely love it. The new name and feel is just absolutely amazing. I have gotten my hair cuts from both Yasmeen and Selwa and they are both so experienced and awesome! I recently went in to get a balayge from Selwa, twice ! Omg she spent so much time making my hair perfect, I love it every thing about it. Selwa really took the time to hear my wants and needs, and delivered! Yesss!! Thank you Origin team for always going above and beyond ans providing such an amazing experience for me. read more

The entire staff at Origin is fantastic! I have seen multiple stylists for multiple different services, and always feel like I am in more than capable hands. This salon is the best!!! I'm in the customer service industry and these girls understand how to make customers happy! They were a dynamic duo! Thank you for such an amazing experience! I will be back! read more

I had balayage, cut and styling with Yasmeen and it has been the best time ever (and I liked where I used to go before but this time is the best). I will recommend to all my friends and would recommend everyone!! read more

I am very unsatisfied with the haircut. I was very explicit in how I wanted my haircut done and i was not listened to. Now my hair is shorter than i wanted in to be, cut in places I asked to not be touched. I cannot wait for it to grow so then I can have it fixed. I did not feel it mattered that I am pleased with my hair. I felt it was done in a rush and with a unconcerned attitude. read more

my service was supposed to last 45 mins-she finished in less than 30 and i felt she was just pitching their products that she was using and the message portion wasn't very relaxing. i had to wait at the reception desk for 10 mins for someone to check me out and when i told her what happened-she offered to take me back to finish my appt. which i was grateful and the only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1. when we were done-they had already processed my gift card for the full amount, which was more than what my service cost. it was never communicated and a total rip off read more
