Myself and my wife visited Oriental Fusion today, we were interested in the banquet meal which indicated we could pick and chose from a variety of foods, we where told by the waitress that because they were not busy that wouldn't be possible, so we ordered from the regular menu instead, we opted for one of the set meals, our starter arrived, and we were given plastic plates (?!!!), we'd nearly finished our starter when my wife discovered a long blond hair (My wife's hair is black, mine brown) embedded in a spring roll, I mean really cooked in, so naturally she complained, to be confronted by a waitress with a horrible attitude who promptly explained that all of their food comes from a supplier, we live a few doors down from the place so we see the lorry arriving regularly, she even picked the spring roll off our plastic plates by the hair and dangled it in front of us, she then explained that they couldn't possibly break open each item of food they receive to check for imperfections, we explained that we were not buying the food from the supplier, we were buying it from them, as a restaurant, her attitude was that of disgust and sarcasm, she even laughed at my wife, she explained that asda don't check each of their products for hairs... our retort was that we'd expect a refund and an apology on behalf of whoever supplied it... the normal practice in a restaurant, at least places I've been before is to be very apologetic give some kind of a discount or at least a bottle of wine, some kind of good will gesture, with a touch of embarrassment on behalf of the place... no this waitress was adamant it wasn't her or the establishment's problem so we paid for our drinks and left refusing to pay for the starter.
Maybe these people don't understand? If they had of offered some kind of good will gesture we'd have spent around £100 in the place but this jumped up waitress argued the toss resulting in us leaving.
Plastic plates and militant waitresses?! no thanks. Waste of time. I'm reporting them to the food standards office, all of this could have been cleared up by simple manners. read more
