Excellent food, also offer take away service. More expensive than some, but worth the money.

Came for a nice family dinner last night, have been so many times before and had a good experience…read morebut this time was absolutely shocking! Our food took ages to come out, my food was fine however 2 of the 3 steaks were not cooked to the preference asked for. Took a while to get a waitresses attention to send the steak back that was well done and should've been med-rare and also my mum didnt get any roasted veg and my aunt didnt get any sweet potatoes as they should've done. After 10 mins of sending my aunts steak back the waitress comes back in a bit of a abrupt tone and says as there's half a steak eaten she can't replace it with a new 1 unless its the cheaper/smaller steak or she can give us a massive 5% discount off this £20 steak i thought this was ridiculous and if anything should've been 50% discount as they messed it up. In the end my aunt decided to keep the original steak as we were getting nowhere and a lot of attitude from the waitress. My mum and aunt complain to the manager and she was absolutely down right rude, it was disgusting behaviour. Basically said when we paid can we leave. My mum says oh don't worry we will and won't be coming back again and the manager chirps back with thats fine because we're closing down soon. Very appalling, made our experience very upsetting! I think the name of the manager was jessica

When it did arrive, the chicken was unappetizing, with some kind of random breaded coating, and there was just way too much oil. Service was also incredibly slow. Took forever for my drinks to arrive even tap water too 10 minutes to get to the table! I had to ask for the bill twice before it was delivered was so fed up that I was considering just leaving without paying. The only good part of the service was that the kept coming by to ask how the food was multiple times. The London Insider http://www.london-insider.co.uk/

This pub (I'd hesitate, really, to describe it as a "gastropub", but that's the closest that Yelp's…read morefiling system can manage to a proper British pub) is fantastic. The place speaks for itself - three or four real ales on tap, two brewed specifically for the venue, combined with really good food on every day of the week including the best chips for miles. The food is exquisite every time. We went for Mothering Sunday recently and I had the shellfish bisque, which was gorgeous, followed by the chicken. Calling it 'the chicken' doesn't really do it justice though - not at all dry, with a layer of herbs spread underneath the skin to really infuse it with a deliciousness beyond anything I've had for Sunday lunch in a pub for a while. The Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes (so often the downfall of an otherwise brilliant pub lunch) were absolutely sublime, nearly as good as mum's own cooking! To cap it off there was a chocolate and pistachio brownie with pistachio ice-cream - this was so soft that when you cut into the ice-cream with your spoon, the brownie went all gooey. This was also complemented brilliantly by really good service, a bustling interior and a decor that reminds you of a traditional country pub but with a hint of modernity. The one aspect of things that really seals the deal is the opening times: they serve food until 5pm on a Sunday! Perfect for the family who likes to take the Sunday a little more gently than others, and ends up not eating until about 4pm. If every pub in the world was like this one, the world would be a much better place!
