As a avid fan of the coffee shop I have to say this place is my Joint favourite in town, a nice atmosphere that will remind anyone who has been to Portugal or Spain of their favourite little place abroard.
For me the coffee has just the right strength bean which makes for a nice light and smooth coffee although I have to admit that for some it's not as strong as they would like.
They also serve Soft & Alcoholic drinks including as you would expect some imported items from Portugal.
As well as the thirst quenchers you can also satisfy your stomach with a full and varied menu of both classic English and authentic Portuguese fayre, not to mention the cafe's very own Bakery which serves fresh bread and Pastries etc.
There is also a shop attached to the Cafe where you can pick up all kinds of imported portuguese treats includund specialist Chorizo Sausages (also for some spanish items as often the difference is just the name on the brand label) Handy if your after a bottle of wine or Port to go with your meal and the off licence is not open!
I have always found the quality of the food and the portion size here very good although not the cheapest I have to admit. (Ask for the Creme Caramel !)
There is usually some live sports match or something news based on the tv too which can add to the Iberian atmosphere although it is obviously in Portuguese!!
The staff are also very good, and if you take the oportunity to get to know them just a little then you'll find them quite chatty and welcoming.
Overall I highly recommend this nice little coffee Shop, in fact I wish i could be there now myself!! read more
