Not bad at all. Ordered for delivery and it got here way faster than i expected and what they projected. Food was hot and crispy and the delivery guy was friendly. One complaint though : They don't have an option for an order of steamed rice on their Grub Hub online ordering system, so if you want a side of rice, you'll have to call which totally defeats the purpose. I had ordered some steamed rice with my first order. They had called me to confirm my address because it was smudgy on their fax. I asked how much a rice was, and they charged me for it. Cool, no problem. Second time to order, I made a note in all caps that I had also wanted a steamed rice w my order. When it came, I realized they forgot my rice (they didn't charge me for it though so no big deal) but i really wanted my rice lol Yea, so just FYI. I wish they'd put an option for it. They have it for every other side item... read more

Ever since the house fire happened, my family has turned this into a go to Chinese restaurant (mainly take-out). We have been visiting Orient Express since September of this year. We must have already ordered food about 5-10 times. The hours are so great! Since they are open later than most restaurants, it's just so convenient for us. The food is good. It's not amazing to the point where it's to die for, but it's nothing to complain over. The ambiance is very casual. The owner is very laid back and always asks us how things are whenever I walk in. I still have yet to try their juices and smoothies, which look so delicious. read more

I am only giving this place one star because I have to. Paid $30 for a family dinner which is great but when I received my order it was wrong. We tried to eat it but it was not fresh at all. The rice was hard and the egg drop soup was not fresh either. You can tell because when it is not fresh the eggs are hard. I called back and the lady who answered said that sometimes we order food we don't like and we just need to not order it again. No mam. I ordered food from a business and it was wrong and not fresh. She even said the rice is made in pre made batches hours earlier and that if I wanted fresh rice it was an up-charge? No refund available, because it is policy. Ended by her hanging up on me. Never again. Horrible customer service and food. Don't go here! As to the added review that y'all wanted to add to stick up for your business. You can say that I "screamed" at you and "hung up", but we both know that I didn't. I did however want you to come back and pick up the food and receive a refund in return. I did order delivery for a reason in the first place. The food was disgusting and just not fresh, so what more do you want. We are paying customers that deserve fresh food when we order. For my family and I, we just will no longer come to this establishment. Have a good day. read more

Read a few reviews and decided to take a chance on the number of reviews as compared to the other nearby restaurants. I lost! Worse a General Tso's ever! Seriously. So much breading it wasn't even completely cooked. It was a mainly pasty flour. So gross! Not to mention I ordered steamed rice and received a "browned" rice. It appeared to be fried, and so it was brown in color, but literally had nothing in it. Terribly disappointed. read more

Orient Express - Ridiculous amount of breaking! So gross. - Chinese Near Me - Katy, Texas

I'm a regular here. Great values on combo lunches. I like the garlic chicken. Portions are plentiful. The owners are friendly and have personality. They know my order when I walk in the door. read more

Went here while I was waiting for my car at NTB. They have a restaurant next door but it's closed. We saw this off in the distance and took the walk. The beef and broccoli was great for my dining partner, and you can get a plate of just broccoli too. I like that, not everywhere offers it. Very courteous staff. read more

Very very good like lots I do quick delivery and big portions very good food lots of sauce good fortune cookies

TERRIBLE Customer service. Husband went in paid cash took meal home - it was wrong - one item totally missing the other entree was just wrong. Called for a refund on the screwed up items and was told I had to bring back the entree they messed up ( I threw it out my kid couldn't eat it). Are you kidding me!! It was their mistake, I had ordered from them for over a decade and ordered for my school on Fridays - I am making sure it does not happen and so will my husband's school. So let think $13 cash refund to well over $1500.00 for the school year. Brilliant choice management!!!! read more

I ordered through GrubHub. First of all, It was 30$ for 2 sesame chicken dinners and a terrible kids meal. First of all, it took them 1.5 hours to deliver. When the delivery driver showed up, he was very nice and said they were understaffed. It was a inconvenient but not the end of the world. We get inside and start taking the food out and the "chicken nuggets" had melted through the Styrofoam container. I can't feed a 6 year old chicken that could have melted Styrofoam on it.. The Chicken Nuggets were weird pieces of chicken battered. It was not a hit with the boy. Our meals were WAY over cooked. You know that chewy, reheated Chinese food texture, the entire meal was like that for both dinners. The rice was crunchy and the poor veggies had been cooked to death. It was bad. Hands down the worst Sesame Chicken I've ever eaten. We also ordered Egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. The soup was good. Only saving grace. The icing on top is they forgot our crab puffs and egg rolls. When I called to let them know, the guy on the phone offered to add extra to our order "next time". I didn't want to be rude on the phone but I already knew we would not be ordering from them again. I told him we were splitting the 2 meals 3 ways and we wanted the apps with this meal. He said he would have someone bring them by... They NEVER arrived. It was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my entire life. read more

The food is tasteless and over salted, the meat is overcooked, chewy, rubbery and swimming in a gooey brown sauce that seem to taste exactly the same in all the dishes. The delivery time takes over an hour, and definitely not worth the time and/or money. read more

By far one of Katy's best Chinese take-out. This Chinese food is sooo good and always served fresh! Being that I'm a fan of seafood I recommend the garlic shrimp, an order of chicken fried rice & the wonton soup. I promise you won't be disapointed. read more

We LOVE this restaurant! Their delivery ALWAYS arrives hot and very fresh! We've been loyal customers for 8 years! I can't say enough great things about the food, the staff, their professional attitude and their food is so good and so authentic!Give them a try! You'll be glad you did!! read more

I'm sad to see all the negative reviews :( We've been coming here for years and it's one of our favorite places. They deliver until 10 pm 7 days a week (which is awesome for last minute dinners) and the interior was recently remolded if you decide to eat in. The restaurant is owned by a sweet, hard working family and they are willing to accommodate special orders. Some days the food is more tasty/fresh than others, but overall, they have the fastest, friendliest service of anywhere around. read more

I ordered for delivery. The food arrived within 30 minutes and was nice and hot. The spring roll is fried and was nice and crispy. We got a variety of sweet and sour chicken, Hunan beef, pepper steak and chicken low mein. Everything was good. I will be reordering from here when we want some fast chinese food. read more

I agree with the other reviews that this is the BEST Chinese take out. They do have a few seats, but there are no waiters or waitresses. I especially love the sesame chicken and the orange chicken. When I called them this past friday, they said it would be done in 10 minutes and when it was done they called me. We have been ordering from this place for the past 5 years and it has always been very high quality meat and there is always plenty of sauce (the key to my heart for Chinese). read more

Horrible!! I ordered a basic chicken and broccoli lunch plate (delivery) -- the chicken looked and tasted like it came from a can. It was chopped chicken breast, no seasoning, no sauce, just mixed in with steamed broccoli. The fried rice had no veggies mixed in, the egg drop soup was ok but still below average. Even the fortune cookie was stale. I was just floored by the horrible quality. I had bought the meal for friends and had to keep apologizing, one friend tried to make due and added salt and pepper to the chicken to create some sort of flavor. read more

Ordered for the first time, delivery of General Tso's chicken and pork fried rice. Food arrived hot and good. The large fried rice is more than generous. The only reason for not 5 stars is that the General Tso's chicken was not as thick as I normally see. Will definitely order again! read more

Fantastic dish I had, especially for delivery! Had the Moo Shu Shrimp, it was great! Had the Hot Sour Soup, it was full of tofu and veggies, very decent - also had egg rolls.. too greasy, not great and I had Crab wontoons which were basically like rubber (probably cuz the styrofoam container they were in during travel. All in all, great for delivery and very decent price. I will order again but probably would never choose to dine in. read more

Great food! Delivered within a timely fashion. My family was very satisfied everything tasted great. We will be return customers

I've ordered a few different items from here now and have yet to get something I don't like. It's always delivered within 25-30 min (I live approx 5-10 min away depending on traffic) and is hot and fresh. read more

This company is inconsistent with the quality of the food but consistent with poor service. Depending on the chef, we either received horrible bland food or great food. On more than one occasion, Orient Express has been extremely rude, over an hour late within a 5mile delivery and or delivered the wrong items/orders. My last order was placed on 1/17/2020 around 12pm and it wasn't delivered after an hour thus we called to ask if they were en route and an male hung up on me when I asked where they were. I called back to converse with a manager but they were unapologetic, unprofessional, unaccountable and disingenuous about their customers and come across as the sole Asian restaurant in town! This company lacks professionalism, quality, consistency, bedside manner and has the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing so buyers beware! read more

Soooooo...that happened. There are a limited (shamefully limited) number of options through Eat24 (great app for the business traveler) in Katy so when a new one pops up, I give it a try. Today was Orient Express' shot. Swing and a miss. I ordered delivery and know that there are risks (namely, challenges with temperature and consistency and the lack of crispness when food is held in foam containers). The driver arrived quickly with what was an unfortunate collection of Americanized, salty, soggy food. If you're in the mood for "Chinese" and want delivery and the ability to order online or via an app, this is AN option. But if you're willing to - at a minimum - call in an order for delivery, there are much better options. read more

Well, I have never eaten from this restaurant, but decided to give it a try as it was one of the few restaurants open after 915pm. The delivery time was fast...the driver was very pleasant and courteous...the food was hot and tasty...the rice was perfection...the portions were great...i have zero complaints!!! read more

Very good--I mean VERY good, chicken with broccoli. The sauce is delicious- light, almost clear (not the normal brown stuff that normally comes on everything). The orange chicken is also very good. We order the fried spring rolls every time (I prefer the fresh ones, not fried; however those are not on the menu). If we want Chinese for dinner, we only order from Orient Express. I haven't tried much else on the menu, but the items above are delicious. read more

Do NOT order delivery! They will take over an hour and a half to figure out that they can't find your address. They won't call you though you will have to find out by calling them to see where the food that was supposed to be there an hour go is. The girl on the phone will even tell you "I know this sounds bad, but the driver is stupid. He only had to deliver 2 orders." When you call again cause it's been two hours they blame it on the traffic. Food is not good and service is HORRIBLE! read more

I came for lunch and it was below my expectations. The chicken had no flavor and the item I ordered was suppose to be spicy and it wasn't close. read more

Great food, always available to deliver late hours. It's hard to find oriental food that will deliver at 10 pm around here! But they do!!

We had to stop to eat on our way to Louisiana. Good food and great price for a family of 6. Curry chicken very tasty.

My family loves the food. It's our favorite Chinese delivery!!!! We have been ordering food from Orient Express for years. We have tried other places but none taste better. read more

If you're looking for a good Chinese food restaurant in Katy, then I have to say that Orient Express is the best one around. I have tried out at least half of everything on the menu, and it is just delicious. The combo is nice, I can have a bit of everything when I'm not so hungry. I especially like how you can change the dish a little, whether it's just having a different sauce or adding shrimp to sweet and sour chicken. They also deliver the food, which is great when I don't have the time to leave the house or it's a rain day. I've been a customer for almost two years! read more

I found these guys on eat24, and after looking at their menu for a little while comparing it with the other places that were open at the time I decided to give them a shot. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken dinner plate with side of steamed broccoli and meat dumplings. They gave me a lot of extra sweet and sour sauce just as I had asked for in the notes. The delivery took half the time that the app predicted, and everything was great. The portions were hardy in the vegetables were definitely fresh. Thank You to these guys for giving me a great food experience during my time in Houston! read more

Very good General Tso chicken! Probably the best I have ever had! I didn't care for the lunch fried rice though, very bland. The chicken made up for the rice though! read more

Today I ordered from Orient Express in Katy, something I will never do again!!!! I ordered Happy Family and Mongolian beef and 2 kids meals the Mongolian Beef was overlooked and almost burned, then they sent Triple Delight instead of Happy Family. I did call them when I found the mistake and they yelled at me and told me I did not order Happy Family. I have always ordered Happy Family from them, never Triple Delight , as triple Delight is super spicy and I don't really like spicy. They were rude and yelled at me and told me I did not order right. I know what I ordered. They told me to come later and get it finally but I explained I could not as was babysitting and had no car seats and that was why I had ordered delivery to begin with then some man was very rude, yelled and told me I was wrong. I will never order from them again! Sad, because I have ordered from them since they first opened and recommended them, but NEVER again. In business the customer should never be treated with such disrespect. A simple, I am sorry, let us make it up to you and send what you wanted. They are a HUGE FAIL today and have lost me and my family as customers read more

Simply best Chinese lunch for the price within the 25 mile radius. Quick and cheap Chinese restaurant. They use fresh and good ingredients. Taste wonderful. Takeout is better than dine-in in my opinion. Accidentally found this place and become a regular. The best around this area for the price and taste. I guess the owner is Vietnamese. I am not sure how authentic Chinese the food is but all certainly taste excellent. Mongolian beef and Hunan chicken. read more
