I've dined here many times over the years and have enjoyed their sushi, Chinese, and hibachi menus. Orient Express is still one of my favorites! I recently ordered takeout and was disappointed to find that the food tasted like it had been refried or sitting out, even though we picked it up right away. The service has always been great, though the parking lot is very tight..

It's been a while since I dined on the orient express for Chinese food. This experience was very pleasant. Food options are always in the best interest of of the people. I ordered the garlic chicken, general Tso's chicken, caterpillar roll. Everything came out as expected. The consistency of flavor is why I patronize this location. It always taste the same. Seating arrangements are comfortable and the design and decor of the space is aesthetically appealing. My order was customized because I am not a fan of broccoli so other veggies were added to my dish that made it extraordinary. Reservations are advised but not necessary

What a fun evening! Came with a small group. This is a unique restaurant with 3 dining options in 1. The "Orient Express" is an old classic dining railroad cart and it is incorporated into a huge restaurant. As you enter to the left is an area where Chinese food is served. Straight ahead is a beautiful area for sushi/sashimi. Then if you walk down the railroad cart to the right is a habatchi restaurant. We sat here and had a fun tableside dining experience where a chef cooked steak, lobster, shrimp, scallops, and veggies in front of us. The chef put on a great show and interacted well with the group. Fresh high end ingredients were used and the food was delicious. A server came around and kept the drinks filled and made sure we were having a great experience. We had a wonderful and can't wait to come back.

Charred overcooked veggies

SEE VIDEO I ordered the lunch portion of Hibachi Chicken to go. I've never really had a problem with the food here. Anyway, there was some weird sticky glue like substance all over the rice. This was not yum yum sauce because I didn't have any. Well I had dumped the overcooked charred veggies and chicken on top of it and now all of it got contaminated. I had a few bites before I paid attention and now my mouth feels weird. I called and they offered me $5 whole dollars for the rice even though I threw it all out. I don't need the $5 but they should have replaced it completely. I can certainly buy another lunch but service is lacking these days. $26 dollars for lunch down the drain. Long story short- watch what you're eating!

The hospital bed as a result of the sushi

Stopped by on a Monday evening. Ordered sushi and then BOOM! I'm at the ER. Fever, body chills and extreme diarrhea. GI test results confirmed a virus due to the sushi or roe. Spent 4 days admitted to the hospital, racked up thousands in medical bills and will NEVER eat sushi from this business again.

Mongolian Beef -- so yummy!

Recently discovered this place for a friend's birthday -- one of her favorite places! The setting is pretty cool, with part of the walkway between the bar/hibachi area to main dining room being an old railway car -- something you see predominantly as you are walking into the restaurant. There were a few cocktail options (some a bit more pricey than I was anticipating - ie: espresso martini for $18), so I stuck with prosecco which was served in a miniature bottle and poured for me. The server was patient and kind - surprisingly splitting the bill from the get go with a larger group of 8 people! I got the ginger salad and fried spring rolls as a starter. Ginger salad was standard -- iceberg lettuce with carrots, topped with a zangy ginger dressing. The spring rolls were tasty, namely that they were crispy and went well with a sweet sauce as well as a VERY spicy mustard sauce. I got the Mongolian beef entree which came with rice. Wow -- the meat was so tender, great flavor (a bit sweet though -- tempered with spicy mustard I saved) and a huge portion. It was a great value for the price and was several additional meals for me once I took it home. This dish was also just a great comfort food. Their menu offers Chinese, Thai cuisines, hibachi (in front of a hibachi grill), and sushi -- appealing to many when someone may be wanting Asian food within that cohort of options! Overall, would go again.

Came here for a birthday dinner and we had a very nice time. You walk up to the building and it indeed looks like a train in the front which is so cool. Parking in kind of a pain but once you're inside it's a vibe. There's a hallway that is very much like an old train, super cute area to have cocktails. To the left is more of a sit down family style. To the right is more bar. And then all the way down is hibachi. I've done sushi before at the bar which was fine. Habachi was a nice time. The food is always what's to be expected. Service was good and it went by very quickly. They only take reservations for hibachi for 6+ so otherwise it's walk in. On a Saturday at 7 we were seated right away. No food being thrown into mouths tho which was a little bit of a bummer. Overall if habachi is your thing check it out.

I've eaten at no less than 4 other hibachi restaurants between Hawaii and Georgia and this is the first one wherein I enjoyed the food. A friend treated me for Veteran's Day. I love everything about this place. The ambiance is good whether you're at a regular table or the grill. The service was great. The food was great, too! It's so cool from the outside to walk into a train car. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend!

Food was fresh & hot. My buddies beef & rice was sooo good! My TSO ,chicken wasn't fried crisp as requested. I took it home & gave it to my nephew! The salad & soup was good. When I arrived, my buddy was sitting in the "Rosa Parks" section. It was depressing so I asked to move to the "Upper Room". It was so nice over there! The ambiance over there is nice! Anywhooooo..... I would not order the same thing again

The sesame chicken tastes like it was refried. The chicken was hard and chewy. The chips for the soup was stale. The seaweed on the Sushi Roll was so chewy you could barely bite through it. I used to love this place, I won't be back.

This review is for my second visit. My first visit was fine and my sushi was decent. The only reason I went back though was for a friend's birthday dinner. I do acknowledge that it was a busy Saturday night, but the service was just not good. There were 5 of us and we all asked for water, but we only received 4. The next time the waiter came by we asked him for one more. He disappears and comes back with...soy sauce bowls for sushi. We did eventually get the 5th water. Two of us ordered sushi and the rest Chinese. Well the sushi came out a good 10+ minutes before the other dishes. And then one dish came out another 10+ minutes after the other Chinese dishes. When we asked the waiter, he said the kitchen was working on it and it would just be 5 minutes. My sushi rolls were yummy but nothing special. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food and had leftovers. At the end of the meal, he drops off one check (without asking) and disappears again - even if we didn't want it split, we still would've wanted to pay! After waiting a good while, we asked a waiter walking by if he could find our waiter for us, and we got a curt "he's on his way." He finally comes back and we ask if the bill can be split, and he got 3 of the 4 receipts wrong... We also had to ask if he could take some of the used plates to make more space on the table. I've noticed this at a lot of restaurants lately and it drives me bananas. Just clear some of the mess, please!

I had dinner here for the first time last night with my fiancé and a couple of friends. AMBIANCE: 5/5 The ambiance was super cool and fun! I absolutely loved the design of this place. It is very unique, creative, and special! Prices are on par with other hibachi restaurants I've been to (read: pricey). SERVICE: 5/5 Service is great! Everybody was welcoming and kind. Our chef accommodated my fiancé's meat intolerance by cooking the seafood items first so that there wouldn't be any cross contamination. FOOD: 4/5 I ordered the filet and shrimp combo. It came with ginger salad, which was decent. The dressing tasted very carroty and lighter on the ginger. I prefer a little stronger ginger taste, but the salad was fresh and good over all. The clear broth mushroom soup was decent as well. There was a flavor in it I can't quite place, but it was a nice start to my meal. The fried rice was very yummy, especially with the white and brown sauces I drizzled on top. The vegetables were perfect--a nice crunch and clean taste. My shrimp was pretty good as well. I loved being able to taste the grill. There was a slight fishiness to it but it was still good. I preferred the filet, if I had to choose just one. While it wasn't quite as tender and flavorful as the filet at my favorite Japanese steakhouse back "home" where I'm from, it was still tasty. Over all, despite my somewhat harsh critiques, I enjoyed my meal. It's the best hibachi I've had in Atlanta so far!

Food is always good! Generous portions, I always end up with some to take home. Service is great, cooks are fun, bartenders make really good drinks!! I love this little place on the train tracks! It has so much character, various seating, and a beautiful koi pond out front.

This is definitely a locally owned small business. I'm fairly certain the man who sat us and served us was either an owner or some form of in-charge. He was very friendly but could have used some help. It was still kind of busy when we walked in at 1pm on a Thursday and he was running around handling a handful of tables with the help of one other person we saw. I know it can be hard to afford help as a small business, so I understand. He still provided good service even though he had to rush some. He visited us multiple times. Also when we got the checks, what we owed was essentially scribbled down with Doctor level handwriting on a server scratchpad... LOL. I didn't attempt to read it but I'm confident it was accurate. Perhaps investing in a more legitimate order taking & receipt system would be beneficial haha The food was great! I loved the super crunch roll and I was satisfied with the miso soup. Everything seemed really fresh. My friend burned her mouth on the salmon she ordered lol, so be aware that it's coming out hot!! I'm obsessed with the ambiance inside and outside here. Such an interesting, liminal vibe with the old decor (but not creepy). If the owners read this, DO NOT update it. We like it!Very old fashioned. I get the sense this restaurant has been operating here for a while and that the building didn't originally intend to lease out this spot in the back as a restaurant space LOL. So cool though. I love how they got creative with the area around the front door and just the general layout inside. I love this place! I'll be back. I live nearby and this restaurant is just so cool. Some minor improvements could be made but with what I value: taste, ambiance, friendliness, local ownership... Minato hits it out of the park!!! Support your local small businesses! :)

I was going to order the 1/2 hibachi chicken plate, but when I asked to add teriyaki sauce to the chicken the guy advised to just order the teriyaki chicken bowl.
