This review is relating Oregon Park and their Baseball. I will never again go to Oregon Park. To say this is a "Daddy-ball" park is being kind. My son was on a 6U team and the two coaches and two assistant coaches played their kids in Pitcher, First, Second and Short. They essentially rotated the other 9 children in outfield, 3rd and catcher. Their choice to put their kids in the "action" positions had nothing to do with skill. It was purely their favoritism. When I brought it to the attention of the coaches, it was not corrected. When I brought it to the attention of Oregon park, the 6U coordinator said he did not like conflict and that the best thing to do would be to coach next year. My husband and I have always coached! The only reason we didn't this year is due to the fact that we moved into the area and they placed us on the only team that had slots left (clearly understanding why no one wanted to be on this team now.) Not only that, but they put their kids first in the batting order, and never sat their kids out. I am so disgusted at this. When my husband and I coached we went the other way to make sure that parents didn't think we were EVER favoring our child over theirs. We coached all the children and exposed all of the children to the different positions. I can clearly say my son learned nothing from these coaches. Additionally, one of their sons told my son that he gets to play whatever position he wants because his father is the coach. What a terrible example.
I cannot believe that Oregon Park would not address this. It will be Kennesaw ball next year for this family! Go 7U Kennesaw!!! We will coach and rotate and give every child the opportunity to excel!
Since I have shared my story, no fewer than 6 families over the past week have experienced the same thing. I am just disgusted and saddened by the terrible morals and coaching I was exposed to.Thisi read more
