In 1993, Bonnie Jean was a member of the first class on disease prevention given by the Alliance of Professional Tattooists, a trade group for tattooists which is focused on prevention of disease transmission." I took that right off her page. This lovely ocean village gets to be graced now by her talent as she works out of her lovely and homey studio. Her equipment is the best, Lexus style as Diane the artist working on my tattoo told me. There are 2 shops, one in Eugene called Tattoo by Design and this one in Yachats. Diane works between both places and I was lucky she happened to be here when I just had to finally get a new tattoo. This one was on my bucket list because I recently moved into the town and planned on having my tat here to celebrate my life here. Of course it had to be a mermaid. I went looking online and found my perfect girl. Diane captured her perfectly in one session complete with color. The time was not too long and the price was not either. Looking forward to getting to know my mermaid more and the next time I get the craving I won't need to go far to this fab tattoo shop.

Was about to spend $500 when I was told my GC of less than a year was "expired" which is against Oregon and federal law. They are trying to get around GC laws by claiming it is studio credit but website clearly states "gift card." Overall very disappointing as we have spent $1000s at this studio and weren't finished with piercings or jewelry. Have even worked with them to design/specially order jewelry. Beyond that, tried to be calm and respectful but was obviously upset at them just taking $100 from us and the sales person was incredibly snotty and rude in response. While we enjoyed our piercings and they have good jewelry, we'll take our business elsewhere as Oregon, luckily, has lots of great studios.

My 2nd tattoo was in remembrance of my grandmother, "Tutu" I had the cross I wanted on my arm, but I wanted her name to be incorporated into it somehow. I was nervous about that part since I didn't have any lettering or fonts picked out for TC. If you look at the picture I posted, TC free handed "Tutu" in about 15 seconds. He asked me how it looked, and I was shocked that he could draw something that precise and well designed within a matter of seconds. We spent about 3 hours on my shoulder and we knocked it all out in 1 sitting. I'm currently on the hunt for my 3rd tat, after that, it's time to work on the sleeve. I had a tattoo done back in December. The tattoo is crooked. The lining is really uneven. He…read moretouched it up but you can't fix a crooked tattoo and even with touch up it still healed patchy and uneven. He was so heavy handed that through the initial tattoo and the touch up it scabbed over and caused major damage. I gave him that opportunity to fix it once but I'm not going to drive all the way up there to let him do it again. I'd rather just take it to another artist at this point. My tattoo was so simple, just lines and some color, like compared to his portfolio this should have been a sinch. It makes me wonder how anyone got anything with shading and detail and my simple lining filled in with a few colors turned out so horribly. I spent 3 hours in the chair for a tattoo that should have taken a half an hour because he simply could not figure out where he wanted to put the tattoo to begin with, he put the tracer on, removed it, put it on again, removed it, over and over for about 30 mins alone. And it's still completely crooked. This was something I wanted to cover up pain with beauty and it meant a lot to me and I am so unhappy that I have to wear this splotchey, uneven, crooked tattoo for the rest of my life.

This is a delayed review, but I need to share it. So, a few years ago I came in to get a tattoo…read morethat I had for 10 years previously touched up. While the end product was decent. The guy who did it was very rude and the whole time had a random girl whom he knew just hanging out and talking the whole time and anytime I try to ask if I could take a small break , I was often ignored. And once I joined their conversation and they both went silent like I had cursed their existence or something. Thought the whole thing was super unprofessional, and unwelcoming. I don't expect them to totally converse with me but when I spoke it was so unwelcome. I have never suggested this place to anyone nor have I blasted them to anyone. Just wanted to mentioned not being an a hole goes a long way. Never will go back.
