I drove my minivan from California and found this cool place. I had no idea it's so serene. Only in the Northwest you get large forest such as this. It's even bigger than what I see in California. Of course, I repeat the wondering around the forest again in PDX later on. Well marked with 0 fear of getting lost. If you are walking alone, best tag alone with some people in front of you. Like Forest Park in Portland, the drill is simple, TAKE OFF THAT MASK AND SMELL THE FRESH AIR. Often curvaceous and fast curving close to those enchanted trees. Worth the hike or bike. Trails well marked! Blue, green or black diamond. Something for everybody. Even so it is best to carry your smart phone Trail Forks or All Trails app to ensure you're headed in the right direction. Can be confusing because it is a maze of trails!

We came here with our two friends each of them having a little one strapped to their backs. Our dog Momo was also part of the group and she particularly loved this walk. At the time we were her in late spring (end of May), we were able to see still lots of wild flowers, but my friend mentioned that Renee were even more a few weeks earlier. The trails are mostly leading through forest area and so you're in the shade most of the time. We took a trail that led us to the peak and we were able to enjoy lovely views over the valley. Note: there's lots of poison oak here. If you have small kids with you, remind them to be vigilant.

He gets everything arranged, gets you fitted with the right bike, and sends you out with a guide to get you through the forest on bikes. The guide we had today was Josh and he was very good! ( after biking he added his sweet dog, Annie, to the group for the rafting section!) along our biking he told us some fun facts about the Redwood Trees and some exotic plants! Our biking section of the day was GREAT! It is actually a perfect ride you start on pavement and then you end up on a gravel road with some uphills and some downhill but nothing super steep allowing you to take in the scenery. Can the forest be any more beautiful!! The trees are enormous!! Some have been burned, some struck by lighting, some both!! But they are still standing! After biking we drove to the Smith river where they laid out a great lunch! After lunch we geared up for river rafting down the Smith River, the only un-dammed river in California! It is spectacularly clear! Since we were here in June, the river was not super deep, but we did have some fun rapids and some really nice open spaces that were very mellow, allowing you to take in the scenery! For those more daring there is a stop where you can jump off rocks into the water. The rafting portion lasted about 2 to 3 hours. Our entire day started at 9:30 and we were done around 4 PM. I thought it was a fantastic way to spend the day! I highly recommend them.

Our bikes were dropped off at The Wooden Covered Bridge and we rode to the Grove of Titans. There are a few other hikes along the way. The road is mostly unpaved, but no big deal. You do have to yield to cars, but it also wasn't a problem. The company was easy to work with and super nice. This was the way to see this beauty area!
