They have a pretty active parking crew checking vehicle payment... I've heard they have no qualms with breaking windows, slashing tires, or even throwing a boot on for the deadbeats/delinquents. I mean come on, $5 is a cheap price to pay for a great day on the lake (you and your carload of people). The biggest draw is probably the sandy beach just down from the lawn... couple that with the great water temp and you got a good recipe for a chill day. Bring a cooler, chairs and some shade if you can! Oh yeah don't forget to bring your 4 legged pal if they're friendly!

This is not a pull-up-to-your-campsite type of set-up. Unless you pack really lightly (like hike it in lightly) you will need to use their provided wheel burrows to get your gear in. It's a bit of a workout :) Getting lakeside was also a bit of a trek due to the lake being so receded. The lake was it's lowest ever this year, according to the camp host- so 2020 will be a short season. Water temperature was wonderfully cool (but not cold). Go soon if you are planning on going at all. Lastly, if you are a bit adventurous you don't need to buy wood here- there is plenty driftwood lying around.

I had a fabulous time here! I had never been here nor heard about it. I stumbled across Lake Of The…read moreWoods by looking for a place to camp in Southern Oregon. They have facilities at the campgrounds like bathrooms and a shower. The campsites are close to the lake and a short ride to the boat launch ramp. I loved the amount of greenery and tree cover it provided. Wildlife was everywhere, deer in camp, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, and other birds. I highly suggest checking this place out for a weekend of fun.

At checked-in I learned my guests were not allowed to enter the cabin I had reserved for them. I was also greeted with litany of rules and fines, if violated. When I went to the marina to inquire about renting a pontoon boat for my group the staff was in helpful and surly. Later, my group wanted to order takeout from the lodge, but I was not allowed to take a paper menu back to our cabins for consideration of our food choices. Meanwhile, the blinds in the cabins were incredibly dirty and I don't know if there is a correlation but one of my group had a miserable allergic reaction. When I returned all the cabin keys at check-out I was not even acknowledged by the clerk. I don't expect to be treated like a celebrity, but I would the like the respect due a repeat customer who spends hundreds of dollars.

I picked the largest pine cones, hidden in hubby's hoodie (I didn't have a bag), to experiment on. The Magnolia tree greeted us, as we entered the park, was in full bloom. I think it's scented, too! My favorite about this park, was the playground. I spent more time swinging with the youngest grandson, and watching him and his 8 years old playmate (friends since toddlers), and walking around to the nearest creek & bridge. If it wasn't feeling like about to rain, we could have stayed much longer! Oh, they also have to drive back to Portland, today, so off they go, and we stayed longer.

We were wrapping up a Thanksgiving weekend at the time of our visit so leaves have fallen and they may have experienced some rain. It wasn't too chilly, the sun was out and so were the locals (and visitors like us). Lithia Park is a historic park and has combinations of woodland, ponds, gardens, and gorgeous Italian-style fountains. It's no wonder the park has been named the Crown Jewel of Ashland. The park is huge! Lithia Park is located in a lush forested area and also has hiking trails but we didn't go that far. Wow, and I didn't know this but, the park is also a source of Lithia Mineral Water. The park was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Review #3266
