You check in at the main office downtown, then hop on a tour bus to the ranch property. Our driver was super informative and entertaining along the way. The drive itself felt like part of the experience with bumpy ranch roads, multiple gates, gorgeous scenery, and a real behind the scenes feel of the property. Once you arrive, the staff gets you geared up with all the safety equipment and everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and great with all ages. After gearing up, you take an old Army style jeep up the mountain and that ride alone was an adventure Super rickety, steep, and fun! We felt very safe the entire time because before every single zip line, the staff carefully checked everyone's safety gear and connections. There are 6 zip lines total and each one is different with spectacular views that change throughout the course. One thing to know is that you should be in reasonably good shape because there are mini hikes between some of the zip lines. There are lots of water stations along the course, which was great, but the experience is definitely active and you do not want to hold up the group. Totally worth it though and such a memorable Central Coast adventure for families, couples, teens, and adventurous kids!

If you decide to go in person, make sure to arrive early or be prepared for a long wait. Some of the staff speak in a condescending tone, which is disappointing coming from professionals in social services. On one occasion, I was questioned about why I hadn't come in earlier to follow up on my benefits. I explained that the online portal showed my paperwork had been received and was pending review, so I was simply following the instructions and being patient. Instead of acknowledging that, the worker responded dismissively -- as if my explanation wasn't valid. Later, I found out my paperwork had actually been overlooked and left pending for months, meaning the portal was inaccurate. Rather than taking accountability, I was reprimanded for not contacting them sooner. It's frustrating to be blamed for their oversight, especially when you're doing your part and following the system as instructed.

I would definitely come back here to learn about the house and to take the guided tour. This wasn't the purpose for me coming today but the gentleman who works here noted that it's a great tour and I know friends who have enjoyed learning about the family and the history of the house, getting a deeper dive of information. I came here with some friends for their first hosted event Sound Bath. A wellness day if you will. From start to finish everything was very organized and thoughtful. The staff hosting the event and the spiritual wellness guide and sound healer was wonderful. Everyone was nice and you felt welcomed. Not pretentious and just very positive and good vibes. We had a nice group and everyone was respectful and on time for the sound bath so it went off without issue. It was a relaxing experience and the grounds were very nice to hold this outdoor event. The birds were chirping, the sun was shining, we found an area with shade, very nice. Very faint sounds of cars in the distance here and there which wasn't ideal but out of their control and once things settled in you really couldn't hear much external noise. After the relaxing sound bath we were offered tea and light pastry snacks. I opted for a water and began exploring the grounds instead of partaking in the refreshments. The grounds are lush and lovely, very zen. Loved the beautiful trees and walkways with small fountains and running water. It was green and pretty all around from the recent rains. Definitely a great location for events and to learn a little SB history. I will definitely do my research and come back again soon.

If you like finding unusual small treasures off the beaten paths then this place might be your cup of tea. It is certainly the only one of its kind -- in a small unassuming office building, the little museum probably houses the many pieces that make up the not so well known past of Santa Maria! Interesting antique furniture, items of past daily life, equipment of various trades.... are just some of the things you would find here. Musicians or music lovers may enjoy many of the old instruments on display. After visiting the many wineries, or, if you're not a wine person, a stop by this place may add some interesting aspects to your trip.

I've included what stood out to me historically and people that you are simply better off for knowing about their life and accomplishments with my photographs. This in no way scratch's the surface of information provided inside this museum. You could spend hours and hours just reading the text books. For more information visit: http://santamariahistory.com/permanent.html We missed the usual docent that accompanies you throughout the museum lecturing about the history. But no matter the two gentlemen that were there that day did an excellent job of narrating Santa Maria history. Thank you so much!

If you want to be harassed, judged, sized up, made fun of, living in a horrible living condition for 400$ with no AC, dirty showers and bathrooms the CCC is your place to go. I have autism and the CCC promise me this was a safe place but it's NOT I have been constantly harassed by not only crew members but also staff now to the point my wife and I our trying to figure out how to move me out of the CCC how BAD it has become. Half the people here in the CCC slo center don't even care or want to be here anymore. This is absolutely horrible and the CCC should be ASHAMED of what they have become and the conditions they have crew member living in. Oh and I had a small heart attack and the center director Mike Anderson told me that someone would always have the security phone 24/7 and the day I had my heart attack I had called 16 times and my wife had contact them since I was responding after awhile. All they did after an hour went by of me being on the ground was put me in a state truck and drive me to the ER where I waited!!! When they should of called 911 since I do have a medical condition. I could go on and on about why NOT to join the CCC. ADVIOD THE CCC SLO CENTER BE WARNED!!!!!!!!
