In reference to the reviews on various social media sites submitted by the owner, Sherri Stechmann on behalf of Wynbrick Mansion, the following review is related to our experience at Wynbrick Mansion, BASED ON FACT. It can also be backed up with the owner's video and our pictures and text messages which are included. (UPDATE: Yelp has removed her review however the information below still applies as she has placed slanderous statements on other social media sites) Facts below: Fact: Brianna Hernandez Marx did have a baby shower at Wynbrick Mansion on Saturday, Jun 29. Fact: The family arrived at the Wynbrick Mansion at 11:47, which is documented on timestamps and video of the owner. Fact: The outside of the facility was a complete mess, with yard waste all over the lot, a trailer of yard debris taking up parking spaces, a black type that guests had to step over, and a large pile of mulch outside the entrance. Fact: The family asked a male employee, at 11:50, to sweep the front entrance to look better for guest and ensure nothing was tracked in to the house. Fact: The male employee simply placed a broom on the front porch and inferred the customer should sweep. Fact: A family member did ask for the owners phone number and left a message for a return phone call. After that, he was busy helping us set up that he was unable to answer her phone call. Fact: At 12:00, when the family was allowed to enter, a male and female employee were standing inside the door. Upon entering, a family member stated to the male employee his disappointment with the condition of the outside of the facility and the fact he handed a broom to the customer to sweep. Note: The owner has continued to reference comments made to an "18 YO Latina women/employee" however she left a voicemail at 12:11 and text message at 12:30 stating her concern with someone asking the male (son) about the broom - not getting in anyone's personal space. Fact: The contracted family and many of the guests were hispanic. At no time, and all public posts and text messages will confirm, that no one stated the facility or owner was a racist. In fact, if you review all posts, you will see Sherri and the Wynbrick Mansion used the word first and all reference to "racist" actions. Fact: No adult, to include anyone associated with the contract and/or payment made comments about "suing" Sherri or the Wynbrick Mansion. Fact: At no time did the family ever ask for a discount. Fact: During the event, a guest did pass out due to the fact it was hot outside and inside the sunroom. Note: That as simply stated in a post from the mother-to-be in which Sherri immediately discounted the statement and stated it was fake. Fact: The family was aware that Sherri had a death in the family, prior to the second showing, and actually sent a faithful and sincere condolence to her though a text message. Fact: At no time, did Sherri or the Wynbrick Mansion offer an apology or any willingness to assist in resolving the concerns. For anyone reading the posts, you will see an extremely negative attack on the mom-to-be and the family who hosted the party. The owner has sent a text message to a family member stating she is telling new customers about all her slanderous statement. Unfortunately, the owner should've really watched her own video before she started her misrepresentation of the family - her customer. This farm is HUGE and was packed with families from all over the area but never felt crowded. We were upset because the funnel cake and some treats ran out in the evening but it didn't take away from the overall excitement of the entire night. The Jacks in the Night lighted trail had to be the highlight of it all. It's a separate purchase from general admission. There were several Disney salutes and it was all super kid friendly. Admission was a little pricey but it felt worth it with everything they had. We went on a Saturday morning and it was packed. Our friends had to wait at least 1 hour for their food. They had plenty of photo ops which I took apart of. I will say, it was a group of 21+ so we were veryyyyy underwhelmed with the activities since most of them were kid focused. I did take advantage of the carousel and unashamedly got on there! It was a good time :) The farm was huge and I wished we had some kind of map that was either digital or on hand because a few time we could not find anything and I was SEARCHINGGGGGG for a couple things. On arrival, we were actually really impressed. The speakers in the parking lot were playing an amazing soundtrack from *Pirates of the Caribbean*, which got us excited and set great expectations for the experience. Once we stepped inside, though, things went downhill quickly. The lobby has some nice decorations, but the overall atmosphere was dark, stuffy, and a bit dingy, almost like the lights were turned down too low. On the positive side, getting our tickets from the kiosk was quick and easy, and the machine printed them without any problems. When we got to our seats, we were very disappointed. The seats seemed old and poorly maintained--one of them wouldn't even sit upright, and several of them had a strong, unpleasant body odor smell. It made it hard to relax or feel comfortable. Then the previews started, and we noticed right away that the screen seemed darker and slightly blurry compared to other theaters we've been to. We were seated on the right-middle side of the auditorium, and at first we thought maybe it was just the previews and that the actual movie would switch to a better projector or sharpen up. It never did. The image never looked "crisp" at all--definitely below the standard of other theaters we've attended. Because of all this, we requested a refund within the first five minutes of the movie. That process was more difficult than it needed to be. The manager and what appeared to be his superior were both present, but neither one acknowledged us or spoke to us, even after the cashier had clearly told them about our situation. They walked by without making eye contact or offering any kind of explanation or apology. The only person who treated us well was the shift lead, who actually acknowledged us and helped us get our refund. Given the uncomfortable seats, poor picture quality, and lack of basic customer service from management, we will not be returning to this location--even though it is the closest theater to our home. Based on our experience, I do not recommend this theater.

I couldn't believe that anyone didn't know about JJ, but growing up in Samoa without a TV left my friend out of the loop. I immediately told him - "Saturday we are educating you on a local legend that became internationally renown". My friend, his wife and I arrived at noon on a Saturday and paid $6 each for the bank museum tour. The guide was very friendly and laid a deep explanation of what Clay County and the James family were experiencing during and right after the Civil War. The weather the day of the robbery, the layout of the Liberty square, the medical and mental state of Jesse, who the bankers were and their reactions and actions all told while you see the clock set to the exact time and date of the event, hear the old wooden floor creak beneath you and are surrounded by artifacts or replica's of the items originally inside the bank; the description makes you feel that you are a witness to America's 1st daylight bank robbery. My friend and his wife are now sold on the legend of The James Family and want to see the house museums in Kearney and St. Joe now. A great inexpensive way to spend an hour or so and relive some of the areas infamous past. They also have a backroom with family and area artifacts. The gift shop is free to enter and shouldn't be missed by anyone traveling thru even if you don't have time for the tour.

The Jesse James Bank Museum is pretty darn cool. It was the site of the first daytime bank…read morerobbery, which was executed by members of the James gang. I had read about this robbery in a book, I believe, and now I was able to stand in the old bank building itself, which was really cool. They have restored it to the way it would have looked back in those days, and it's a great little stop to soak in some history of the area in and around Liberty. The woman who gave the tour was extremely friendly and enthusiastic about answering questions and talking about the history of the place. It made us want to further explore the James sites in the area, in Kearney and around Clay County. Having read about Jesse James and his terrorist gangs and how he came of age participating in the hatred, violence and strife during the Civil War and the period following, it's really interesting to physically be in the area and see some of these landmarks with your own eyes. Jesse James was not a hero, even though he's now somewhat romanticized as such. There is a lot of information in the back room of the museum, which displays some really great photos, documents and trinkets from the era. Up front is a gift shop and then there is the main bank room, with its vault open. You can really get a sense of place when you're here, and it's easy to imagine two bushwackers coming in and threatening the lives of the unarmed bankers. Bank robberies are a dime a dozen in movies, but when you see something like this in person it's very arresting. It's a cool experience. I would recommend the Jesse James Bank Museum to anyone with an interest in Missouri or American history. It's very affordable ($6 for adults, $3.50 for kids) and a pleasant and informative way to spend an hour or two. This location is a nationally registered historic place, so pitch in and help keep it going.
