It's legitimately not often that I feel like a farm that charges $20+ in admission is worth the price, but you know, this one has sold me on the concept and it really does work here (at least in the spring). A friend of mine told me about the Tulip festival they hold here each spring, and while I knew it would pale in comparison to the tulips in Washington or the Netherlands, I was excited to check it out. The Fun Farm is likely much busier in the fall months, but we really enjoyed our spring adventure here. First of all, the parking is not too bad, they have a massive lot, and once you are in, you'll be super impressed to find really nice and clean restrooms, which you just never know about at a farm. They have the usual things for kids, but honestly what makes it better, is that aside from animals and playgrounds, they have custom built wooden play areas that are sturdy, and unique to this place. There were so many places for our kids to play that we stayed for HOURS and had it not gotten late, could have gone even longer. The tulips are a fun novelty and I'd return for photos on a nice spring day. They aren't an impressive endless sea of flowers you might expect if you've been to other tulip festivals, but for the KC area I found it to be charming and fun. Like I've said at other farms, if you don't have kids, I'm not sure it's worth the admission price since you are also paying for everything else. I wish places like this had a discounted rate for adults without children in tow, but if you do have kids I think it's worth the price as they are guaranteed to have a blast.

For being such a popular place it never feels overcrowded which is a perk when crowds aren't your thing. They have lots to do for all ages. However, the admission price keeps hiking up each year. We also tried the jack-o'-lantern trail this year - it was enjoyable but not for the additional $30 per person. Aside from being overpriced it's a family favorite.

This is our go to pumpkin patch. It's a bit away than the others but we love it. Is it run by young people absolutely! They are friendly and efficient. The only draw back this year is that the donuts were not cooked all the way through. Save yourself some money and buy your tickets online. Screen shot your tickets because the service is terrible once you get to the front of the line. You'll get a wristband. The pizza is pretty good but small for $20. The apple cider slushy is a must. Don't forget to go on the hayride to see the orchards, pumpkins and corn maze. The apple blasters and the slide are fun. Overall we love how big this place is. Last year this place was more Instagramable so hopefully they will bring the stuff back.

Words can't describe how much fun the little ones had at Fun Farm (I as an adult even had a blast). While the price is a bit steep you do get your money's worth if you go through the whole thing. We skipped Apple shooting because the kids were too small. We did enjoy the train ride around the lack and through the pumpkin patch. The kids enjoyed the jumping pod the most. I would recommend for older kids 5 and up. Take advantage of the photo ops, we got great holiday photos from the experience. I would also go during a time when everything is open for a full effect. Again so much fun!

The Fun Farm is a great place to take the kiddos and enjoy the outdoors. We went for the Apple, Pear and Peach picking and loved it. The kids played in Fun Treehouses & Playgrounds, we rode a carousel and we didn't even get to finish it all in one day because there is so much to do. What a great play to have fun.

Went here with my family for the tulip festival and it was so beautiful! I'll be back in the fall for pumpkins and fall treats! Then again when my son is old enough to enjoy all the play sets.

We went to the tulip festival on the last day, but it was quite pretty still. Most of the tulips were withered or picked at that point (extra cost to picking). The main thing is that the food was quite expensive there. The train ride around the lake was free though, and there was a giant slide. I would not recommend wearing flats because the trails have some mud on them.

What a great place to take the kiddos! Although it is a little pricey for an outing ($20/person), you are able to come and go as you please throughout the day. So if you want to go in the morning, leave for lunch and come back you are more than welcome to! There are a ton of things to do - petting zoo, corn pit, apple picking, a bounce area, jungle gyms, circus games and the pumpkin patch of course. If you think you will be going more than once in the season, I would recommend the season pass!

For this last visit we brought our own lunch. Goats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, goats, and sheep to visit. Slide, bounce, run, climb, sink into corn, take a ride out to pick a pumpkin. About a 30 minute ride from downtown KC. We had a good time but it was also stressful. First time going along as a school field trip. All the students, kindergarten ages 5, start in the barn. A nice gal gets up, to lay the ground rules but over all the kids, can't be heard. She has a microphone but it needs work. Tour guides come to take groups around the farm. Most stressful task was trying to keep 100's of 5 years olds in their groups while other visitors run freely playing. This whole day just further cemented for me that teachers should be paid more, ALOT more. One visit a season is a-ok and about all I got in me for this kind of entropy . If possible though I'm gonna try for less trafficked hours.

I personally think this is the best pumpkin patch and I have been to 7 of them. They have pumpkin donuts! They also have coupons at hyvee

We spent a lot of time riding the toy tractors, fishing, mining for gold, playing with the goats, and--of course--washing our hands over and over. We also took a hayrack ride with the famous Budweiser horses, which was a real treat. There are various buildings with eateries, small museums, and interactive exhibits. I was pleasantly surprised--and happy--that they sell healthy (and not-so-healthy) kid-friendly food. The Farmstead is also incredibly affordable. Admission is only $5, and most activities and food options are very reasonably priced. The size is perfect--big enough to explore without feeling crowded, but manageable enough to see most activities in a couple of hours. Plus, it's all outdoors with live animals, which makes it extra fun. The Farmstead depicts a Kansas family farm in the early 1900s, with over 250 animals, a country schoolhouse, and plenty of hands-on activities. Highly recommend for families looking for an educational, fun, and affordable day out!

If you go right at opening, you can catch the running of the baby goats! Some everyday activities are extra money, but you can definitely have fun without spending more than the entrance fee! One down side is you can't bring your own food for lunch, but they have some tables outside of the area so you could still bring a lunch. Deanna Rose is definitely worth bringing your kids to!

We had been going to another nearby orchard for apple picking, but the shine wore off that and Weston Red Barn Farm is our new pick. They have: -Tons of pumpkins -A maze -Goats, chickens, horses, pigs, and other animals -Cider slushies, candies, and fall goodies While we most recently visited on a Monday (kids were off school), the weekends are where it's at here. They have more food options, pony rides, and other fun stuff for the kids. It's understandably quieter during the week. Oh and let's not forget the overall setting: bucolic, relaxing, and pretty beautiful for Missouri countryside is I may say so myself. I totally see why people get married here.

I have to give a lower rating this year because they don't have much on their website as far as Covid guidelines. I reached out to see if they'd allow visitors to walk to the pumpkin patch to avoid the crowded wagon and they said no. I also asked if the wagons would have distance between seats and they said no. I realize outside is a little safer but I don't want to be forced onto a wagon with strangers who may not be wearing masks. This review is more for people who are wondering about their guidelines and if it's safe. They do usually have pre-picked pumpkins for sale that you don't have to ride a wagon to get to which is nice but I think I'll have to find a pumpkin patch that has some actual guidelines for Covid this year.
