Fantastic experience working with City Construction on the replacement of our 50-year-old driveway…read moreand walkway! Erick was on top of everything from start to finish. He was extremely flexible with scheduling while we had other contractors working on the property, kept us well informed throughout the project, and was proactive in solving problems. When we discovered that our drainage line had damage from previous work, he went above and beyond to repair it. Alan and Lee were also hardworking and did a great job. The entire project was completed on budget, and we're very happy with the results. Overall, a great experience with a responsive, reliable company that stands behind its work. I highly recommend City Construction!

I could see dry rot plainly on one post and called City Construction Solution to have them inspect it and provide an estimate for resolving it. Erick gave a very thorough inspection and provided photos and moisture readings with his findings. We ended up contracting with them to replace several posts, patch up the foundation, and put in an interior French drain with a sump pump that they connected to our exterior drain line. Sergey and his crew did a great job completing the work in a pretty cramped environment. Erick had also noted that only one of our 10 downspouts was connected properly to the external drains. He came out and fixed those gratis. Photos were provided of the before and after work. I was very satisfied with City Construction Solution and would not hesitate to use them again for similar work.

**Very disappointed with the durability and repairability of Gaia flooring**…read more We had Gaia Red Series Torre flooring professionally installed by Lane Hardwood in 2023, and unfortunately, we have been very disappointed with our experience with the product only about three years later. We have experienced significant flooring issues, including damaged/broken planks and, in a separate area near the sink, flooring that is now bulging and cupping. I understand that the causes of these issues may be different, and I am still working to determine exactly what caused each problem. However, the repair process has been particularly frustrating. Because of the interlocking installation system, we were told that individual damaged planks cannot simply be removed and replaced. Instead, large sections of the flooring need to be removed back to the wall in order to access and replace the affected area. As a result, we received repair estimates from Lane Hardwood of approximately **$2,450 for 142 square feet** and **$5,600 for 331 square feet**. I understand that not all types of damage are necessarily covered under a manufacturer's warranty. My concern is that a professionally installed floor that is only about three years old can be so difficult and expensive to repair when localized damage occurs. Gaia presents its flooring as a premium, durable product with a long residential warranty, so I expected better long-term performance and, importantly, better repairability. At this point, based on our experience with both the flooring issues and the repair process, **I would not choose this flooring again.**

That kind of good faith and professionalism was truly appreciated. Thank you, Thomas. Your integrity and willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed. I would definitely reach out to them in the future.

They have been dishonest about the delivery date…read more I made purchase in store 1 month ago. They orally promised they will delivery materials in 1 month. And I mistakenly trusted them so I didn't track or ask from any written confirmation. 1 Month later which is today, I realized that materials are not delivered. I call them they denied what they said and they can only update the delivery date 1 week later. Now I have to wait for an uncertain time and pay for the stocking fee of my other materials which I plan to use after installing the floor . It could cost me a few thousands and a few more months of waiting

Roof and pressure washing…read more We hired Solid Gold Contractors/Paul Zelk to pressure wash our roof and driveway in the Seattle area. He cleaned the roof fine, But he didn't achieve the clean, even results we expected on the driveway --stains, dirt and and discoloration remained prominent. When I shared photos showing the outcome and compared it to better results from another provider, the response shifted quickly to defensiveness. Instead of offering to inspect further, re-spray areas, provide a partial refund, or discuss what might improve results (e.g., technique differences or additional passes), the contractor sent multiple messages with real estate photos of our driveway, videos, and questions about security cameras. This felt accusatory and unhelpful rather than solution-focused. We were really uncomfortable with his behavior. We paid the full agreed amount to resolve the matter and not deal with him further, but the lack of constructive conflict resolution--such as asking how to make it right or what could be done differently--turned a fixable issue into a lost opportunity that quickly escalated. A simple offer to revisit or adjust pricing would have gone a long way and potentially kept us as customers for future services like roof cleaning. The work showed up as scheduled initially, but overall, the quality fell short, and the handling of concerns made us not want to have him on our property again. I'd suggest getting clear expectations on results upfront, quality of work guarantees, checking references for similar jobs with actual people not just Google reviews, and being prepared for how feedback is received. I wouldn't use this service again based on this experience and hope it helps others avoid an unpleasant encounter.
