I have always felt very comfortable-I have the personality that needs to be distracted and we have talked about just about everything. ( I believe if you're not a talker Jessyca would respect that too. ) Her products are natural and I have NEVER had **any** kind of reaction to the waxes or coloring (to my brows.) While there is some initial pain in any waxing process, Jessyca does all to make sure any discomfort is minimal ( and I can say for each process it has been minimal. I do not have fine hair or thick skin.... ) It has been my experience that before each *application* Jessyca ensures the wax is not too hot and you are ready. She also does not leave an area until you are ready. The pain is A LOT LESS than traditional waxing AND has always subsided before I left the studio (I have felt pain a lot longer using traditional waxes and had reactions too. I have also NOT noticed any other client in any kind of distress or discomfort.) I also feel Jessyca's pricing is very competitive. She also has never had a "pushy" upsell manner. She has always made recommendations to proceed/wait based on hair length (I feel confident she won't recommend any unnecessary service) I wholeheartedly recommend Jessyca of Canela Sugar and wish her the biggest successes for many years.

The service itself was what I expected it to be (sugaring/waxing = hair being ripped from follicles, so that's never a fun time), but she made sure I was comfortable and even had me laughing more than a few times. The studio is clean - like sparkling clean and intimate without being cramped. She also offers a great selection of facials and I'll be booking one soon. But the best part is the owner herself - if you have an opportunity to get an appointment with her, do it! The owner is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and the values behind her work are inspiring. Do yourself a favor and go here!

After just one visit and recommendations for a couple of wonderful products, my issues cleared up significantly. I've been lucky enough to go back a few times and always feel so cared for and truly notice a very positive difference in my skin. The level of education I received about how my skin works seems exceptional to me. After the first visit I felt like I could pass a test :) After the second visit, I realized how much I held stress and emotion in my face and could feel a kind of release similar to after a massage. After the third visit, I asked, "what did you do to make the circles under my eyes so much better?" and instead of selling me a product, I learned a new technique. As other reviewers have mentioned, the store itself is beautiful - stop in if only to check out the local artists, or pick out a gift or product that you know is thoughtfully chosen - and the owner Monique is a really stellar person who does a lot for the community in addition to running a very special business.

We followed the directions as provided and had no problem finding the place, which is a ways out of town towards Boston Harbor. The setting was beautiful - a creek runs through the property creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Once I stepped inside, I was transported to my Vecmama's house (my Latvian grandmother who is now deceased).......the smells were wonderful and I was in my happy place. The ambiance was so awesome. Sara-Ann was so sweet and genuine. She took my daughter back to the treatment room for about 20 minutes. When she came out for her hair cut, she looked like jelly, she was so relaxed. She said she had a nice scalp massage and had a wonderful hair washing. She did a great job talking to my daughter and asking about her and giving her the perfect hair trim. My teenaged son was with me and he enjoyed the foot massage machine in the waiting room. We ended up having her cut my sons hair as well. The prices for a buzz cut were a lot higher than other places (20) but I enjoyed the atmosphere and talking to Sara so much, I thought it was worth it. I also like shopping local. Every thing about this business is awesome. It is a drive out to her business and it is expensive (most salons are) but you get what you pay for. Although I can't afford her treatments on a regular basis, I will definitely come back for a treat for my kiddo every once in awhile and maybe me too! I really enjoyed visiting her and the whole experience.

Mika welcomed me, listened to my ideas and, at my request, shared hers. She took time to carefully cut off several inches of my hair layer by layer, so that it would compliment my face shape. A massaging hair washing was followed by carefully blowing my hair dry. Mika then took the time to curl it, making me look like I was in my 60's, instead of my 80's. All of this was done with care at a very, very reasonable price. Mika is professional, skilled, and personable. When I am in the area, I will definitely be back.
