Unbelievably unprofessional. Cat had a seizure & they said to go to Central even though VCA ER was closer. Even Central said I should have gone to VCA. Central's paperwork to me said do a follow up w/ primary 5-7 days. One of their techs said to redo bloodwork 1-2 weeks. I schedule bloodwork at Orange 2 weeks 5 days since Central. Appointment was at 4:30 wasn't told until 4:48 that Central had put a note in the file saying blood work would be 3-4 weeks after visit. Orange refused to show me the note from the dr. Obviously annoyed I said I'll just buy the cat's revolution. The rude girl Christine said they don't carry it (false) & her coworker said "yes we do". Finally bought that. On my review of their service I 100% called them incompetent because that's exactly what this is. Central confirmed they DID NOT write any additional notes nor did they speak to anyone at Orange or me about 3-4 weeks for blood work. On Thursday, cat had another seizure & Orange HUNG UP on me. Brie said "i dont know what you want me to do. We have a next available appointment next week so". I got to VCA ER - now Orange refuses to fill the RX & says I need to find a new vet & REFUSES to let me talk to the Dr or anyone else. Their actions are NOT ok. Nikki is the one who said my review of their service (the survey review they sent me after they refused to see me) ruined our professional relationship & she will not have the dr call me & that I will not be allowed to speak to the dr or any supervisor. Nikki said I was lying about waiting 18 minutes- Really? How come my receipt for the meds is nearly 5pm if you claim I only waited a few minutes when my appointment was supposed to be 4:30pm? I believe the first unprofessional I dealt with is Christine. As I mentioned in my review to the vet. The DOCTOR IS AMAZING. His front desk staff are rude, unprofessional & incompetent. read more

I cant stress enough how kind, compassionate and truly wonderful person Dr. Alfaro is. His first priority is always the well being of your pet as is the entire staff. We have been with him for many years and feel fortunate knowing that whatever advice or treatment given is the best for our pets. Dr. Alfaro makes sure we are thoroughly informed of all of our options and never ever pressured. I feel like I can make the very best decisions for them whether it is to better their life or make that very difficult call. That in itself is invaluable. Dr. D & the team saved my dogs life. My poor Winnie that I had recently adopted ended up contracting parvo. It was a horrible thing to watch her go through but knowing she had an amazing veterinary team helped so much with the process. Dr. D helped me to make informed decisions on care without ever making me feel pressured, he was always so kind and empathic. He kept me updated everyday with her progress and made me feel confident she was getting all she needed to get better. The front desk was always so pleasant and helpful no matter how many times a day I called. Even when I'd stop in after work near closing, to visit Winnie, they never once made me feel rushed or like an inconvenience to them. The staff here really goes above and beyond for the welfare of the animals and I am so so appreciative of that. I have taken my 2 dogs to Orange Veterinary for the past 8 years. Dr. D, Dr. Alfaro and their staff have consistently provided the highest level of care and concern for my dog children. They are always available to discuss my concerns and respond to questions. I lost my third dog two years ago. Dr. Alfaro showed the greatest compassion to my family during that time. I received the most genuine, personal and caring card from Dr. Alfaro and Dr. D after my dog's passing. Their expression of sympathy brought me comfort during an extremely sad time. I had called earlier with my concerns Emily called back she had EVERYTHING completely wrong...I wondered if she bothered to read the chart! Then they wanted me to TRUST THEM to drop off my puppy so they could observe him because they were SO INCREDIBLY BUSY for an appointment. How much attention was my puppy in a cage going to get? I refused that. Emily decided to deactivate my account. Emily could have offered me another day. EMILY COULD HAVE HAD THE VETERINARIAN CALL ME. But Emily chose to deactivate my account. I have gone to Orange Veterinary Hospital for 3.5 years for my two cats, Charley and Tinker. One had thyroid issues as well as kidney disease; the other cat had kidney disease. I cannot believe the callousness and the uncaring nature of this facility for my cat, Charley, in her final days. I left an update that Charley had devolved to the point of eating small bites of baby food and drinking almost no water, and Dr. B never acknowledged my call. After spending thou$and$ of dollars on care for my cats for over three years, he couldn't even call me. Furthermore, when it came to putting Charley down, they would not even fit me in. And this was just six months after I had to put my cat Tinker down after Dr. B couldn't get a handle on her progressive ringworm and kidney disease. When I called to say that I think Charley had to be put down, they simply told me on a Friday that on Saturday, "We're booked solid tomorrow. Maybe you can try two other options for euthanasia services." Well, I wanted Dr. B to do it, as he had provided care for my cat all along. Dr. B's associate, Dr. A , simply said, according to the front desk, that he couldn't fit me in. What kind of cold-hearted so-called DVD is he? When I first started at OVC. it seemed nice, but at the end they showed their true colors. Dr. B didn't even acknowledge a call about my cat's deteriorating condition, and his associate told me that I am on my own to find someone else to put my cat down, that they couldn't "squeeze me in" according to the front desk. The absolute arrogance and dismissivenessof this was breathtaking. I couldn't believe they couldn't even squeeze me in for a euthanasia. I offered to come anytime, even at the very end of the day, but the answer was no. In this situation, he was completely devoid of feeling and hardhearted. If you're looking for a mercenary place that charges alot to treat your cat from 9-5 Mon-Fri, , then this place fits the bill perfectly. If you want quality, compassionate care, look elsewhere, which is exactly what I am going to do. There are plenty of veterinarians. When I get another pet, I will take my business elsewhere. I started with Orange Vet over 4 years ago and fell in love with Dr A! Nobody could've made me not love all the great care and understanding back then. BUT through the years the service "gate keepers" have completely ruined my view. sad to say since I loveD Dr A & Dr B. but now I'm looking else where for the care of my 3 animals. this place is great, the staff are so kind and caring and the doctors really listen and care about the best options for your pets. people swear by VCA clinics but in my experience they overcharge and misdiagnose your pet. Orange veterinary has been nothing but upfront, when my dog had cancer they let me know what the most reasonable options were, we managed to extend her life for about 4 more months with their help. when she reached a point of her cancer spreading rapidly, they gave their honest diagnosis and we mutually agreed it wasn't fair to put her thru another long healing period when the cancer would inevitably return at the rapid rate it did. they treated her treatments, visit, and euthanizing with such love and care. I have never been to such an amazing practice before, my senior dog still comes here and we just introduced our new puppy here too. i can't say enough good about all the staff and services here. they are not an emergency vet unfortunately so they usually recommend other emergency vets around and will send your files there for when you arrive. they do the best they can do to be accommodating to all their clients. if you need a good vet, full of sweet humans who love their fur friends, please come here! This place has pretty good service, they treated Me and My dog fantastic. But after missing one appointment because god forbid I'm a busy man. They said my dog and I are no longer aloud to get Grooming's here. Unbelievable, if you're a busy business owner or whatever the case don't come here. We transferred to OVH due to the fact that they were great in getting visits for a sick dog and their care for it was amazing. Fast forward to last Friday(8/13/2021); called as my dog was favoring a leg and not acting its normal self. Said they won't see him for 3 weeks as they are booked and to go to emergency vet. Explained it was not an emergency and likely has an infection brewing. This was not an emergency care type of thing in any way shape or form. We called this morning trying to get in from a cancelation or get squeezed in. They proceeded to belittle us and talk down to us for not taking it to the emergency center as they told us on Friday. We are both medial personnel and are familiar with the medical field (yes the human side). They claimed no doctor (human) fits in sick PTs and they we are neglecting our dog by not bringing him to the emergency room, mind you they asked ZERO questions regarding his condition. I offered the likely infection because it was licking the paw he was favoring. We are pulling our 4 pets from them and will never use them again. Took my dog to be groomed at Orange Veterinary Hospital. Dropped him off at 8:00 this morning. 2:00 rolls around and I decide to call since I have not heard anything. Mind you thats already 6 hours that my dog has been there. I get the excuse that he took a little longer to dry and that he should be done around 4:00. I leave work at 3:30 and by this point I'm fuming because I keep thinking he's been sitting in a cage all day and who knows if they've even given him water. I get there, ask to speak to the manager who gave me all these excuses on how they only have one groomer working on 7-8 dogs. Not my fault! She assures me that the dogs are walked twice a day and are given water. I ask for his chart and walk out. We get outside and the first thing he does is pisses like a racehorse. Get him home and the first thing he does is runs to his water bowl and proceeds to down the water like he hasn't had water all day! Sad thing is I used to take him to Petco but stopped because of horror stories and they always had him back to me within 4 hours. read more

This is my dog Atticus who suddenly started to have seizures and after 25 years of going to Orange veterinary hospital they refused to help my dog yesterday and sent me home with a dog having seizures because my dead husband left the balance of almost $580 from right before he died. Having had taken my dog there several times since my husband's death almost 3 years ago and always paying my bill at time of services rendered, why refuse to help my dog when he is in a very bad state and needs medical attention? When I offered to give them half of the past due and all of the current charges they still refused to help my dog. It's a shame that we used to have someone like Dr. Lender caring for animals and now we have a bunch of money grubbing pigs. At least you would have gotten a few hundred dollars from yesterday but now you get s*** and I will get a wonderful veterinarian to help my dog. You people are garbage and you can keep deleting my comments but I'm going to individually message every single person on your page and let them know what you did to me and my dog yesterday.
