Great owners... very rude clientele that trash the place up... used to be a nice place like the rest of Redding but not anymore

Came here again, and I still really feel some type of way about the transferring of clothes from the bigger washers to the dryers on the other wall. Now, I say this because, if you don't bring a basket of some sort, you'll drop your chonies all over the dirty floor, THEN, risk getting some unknown itchy or scratchy thing going on with your biddles... Does the job, I came here once. The front loading machines were clean and worked well. The top loading washers were dirty inside. Hair, dirt, debris... etc. I didn't see anyone use them so maybe everyone just knows to avoid? There was a guy with a dog in there despite the "no pets" policy. There are no wheeling baskets, so you have to transfer the laundry by hand. Also the folding counter didn't look very clean. Not bad, but they could stand to improve some things. Overall my clothes got clean fairly hassle free, besides having to go around the corner to buy detergent. Like I said, it does the job. read more

As laundromats go, this is one of the best. Nothing fancy, but it is clean and the dryers are huge so that they dry a load of laundry within 30 minutes per normal size load. Recently, washing machine #11 malfunctioned on me and ate my quarters. When I left a note in the comments box, Marty (the owner?) refunded my loss money to me. That's good customer care. And the place is always clean with seating and a television. There are many size washing machines for you to choose from. Parking is on the street, but it is never that crowded that you can't find a place to park. If you gotta use a laundromat in this vicinity, this is the place to go. read more

Certain days are clean and the other half of the days this place looks like it was ransacked! I almost called the police when I walked in one day because it was so destroyed I thought someone broke in. Clothes everywhere, dryer sheets all over the place, little piles of dirt on top, inside and on the floors. Machines were disgusting, bolts coming off machines.. I was able to find one machine I could do only one load of laundry that day, which were my work clothes! Absolutely unacceptable as a customer paying for a service and not benefiting as I throw my money away. Tried to let owner know as a business owner myself, I thought he'd appreciate me telling him...however he sort of shrugged it off. Funny thing is when I called another laundry mat by accident (lake blvd) this owner was caring and wanted to rush down thinking it was his laundromat..I had called the wrong one. Lol When the owner of Orange got there we all had to wait 20 minutes for him to clean the place in the middle of our laundry session! This is like the 10th time I had to wait at 8:00 am so he could clean...As a business owner, clean your facility BEFORE the business opens!!! So because I am not satisfied, i decided I'm not going to Orange Street anymore and the one I accidentally called is now my new spot...thank you Lake blvd laundromat; you exceeded my expectations. This is a small space, which is a challenge if you are trying to social distance. Overall clean but there is no attendant on-site so safety could be a concern. It's tucked in a side area by the ACE hardware store (not on the strip mall but on Orange St). I hadn't been in a laundromat in a very long time so I don't know if prices are reasonable: the large capacity washers are $4.50 for the smallest one, which means you will spend about $7 per load. read more

I used this laundromat today on a Redding stopover. The facility was clean, and the equipment seemed to be well maintained. It has a large stainless steel folding table, plenty of comfortable chairs, and some extra large capacity machines. I appreciated the fact that the washers and dryers show how much time is left. The laundromat has a change machine but, as another reviewer commented, no soap dispenser. However, the Ace Hardware in the same strip mall sells laundry soap, including small boxes of Tide for 99 cents. read more

***Clean but Small & No Frills Laundromat*** This is my first laundromat in Redding. After checking out all the reviews of laundromats in the area, this one had the best reviews. It was a little hard to find because it is small and off a side street, but it's clean and cozy which is fine with me. I came around lunch time on a Wednesday and only one other person was here. With only 12 washers I can imagine it getting crowded in the evenings and weekends. It has a change machine but no vending machine for detergent or fabric softener, and no bathroom. They also have a TV and AC, which makes the wait comfortable. If you get hungry, there are near by places within walking distance. The only thing lacking was an attendant. Other laundromats that I've been to usually has someone on the premise just in case of problems. However this place does not. It has a CCTV which, I guess, is being monitored. I didn't have any problems but I wonder what I would do if I did. read more

Transients with street dogs are apparently welcomed at the laundromat. Despite the "No Pet" policy displayed, no one is willing to come enforce this when I called them. This says a lot about the cleanliness and safety of this place. read more

Clean & Cute place; kinda hidden which is nice. Top load machine kinda pricey than what I'm use too but other than that no complaints :)

Awful place. They ONLY use cold water, even if you pay more for hot.....it's not hot. Ice cold. Also, Machine #12 thinks EVERY LOAD is small, no matter if you push the load button for a "heavy cycle", the machine fills up only 1/4 with water, which means you don't get clean clothes. No management. No phone #'s to call for help. This place SUCKS. BEWARE. Oh, and the constant flow of homeless coming in for a bathroom (there is none) or to hit up people for change SUCKS too. No manager or oversight means bad company loitering around. Good thing they have ALL of those cameras for security. Not!!! read more

I have been to this laundry mat about six times now . There's always a problem there . Machines not working . They smell like dirty feet . Now tonight is beyond belief !!! They have no quarters in the change machine . I put all my soap in and leave to get quarters . I come back with my quarters at 850pm and last wash is at 9pm ... the machines won't work . I call the owner to ask her to turn back on the machine and she says I can't These facilities need to be regulated by somebody . And now my bedding has been in their dirty machine and was never washed . I told that lady I would never go back . And the worst part is, they own Ace Hardware on Eureka Way . This is a bare bones laundromat. No soap. No bathrooms. No laundry carts. Few chairs. The machines were clean and worked well.

Kinda ghetto but did the job without issue. Does not have soap for sale or a bathroom and seating is limited.

Laundry came out clean, however there are no laundry carts to move your wet clothes from washer to dryer. Also no sinks or bathrooms. And no staff present read more

We are camping at Lassen NP and are in Redding for a short city break. We stopped here to do a quick load of laundry. Nothing really special. We used a top loader for $2.25. Dried our clothes in the car with the 90+ degree weather. Knocked off one star for being slightly expensive and no vending machine with detergent. We paid a lady $1 to use a scoop of her detergent. You can also walk next door to ACE Hardware for detergent too. Otherwise a good place for a quick wash and have a sandwich at the shop next door while you wait. read more

Very clean facility washers and dryers but could use carts to help unload wet clothes and move them to the dryers

I used this on a quick trip to Redding and found it to be clean and well maintained... Nothing fancy but everything worked well! I had to get soap at the hardware store so be prepared if you go when they might be closed. read more

I went on a weekday evening and the machines were readily available. I tried using the change machine but only one of my dollars worked. I don't know if it was out of quarters or just didn't like my other six dollars. Luckily I had some extra orders with me. The machines were easy to use and got my clothes clean and fresh. read more

Never thought I would write a review on a laundromat, but here goes. I recently moved, and I need to get an electric dryer (last place was gas). Then we moved and my washer broke, so we're going a few weeks without. I was wary, because of the neightborhood, but the good reviews won me over. Very clean, and there are no out-of-order signs anywhere! And the change machine works! Be warned, come with your own products or go across the street to ACE hardware, because they don't sell detergent and stuff here. Last week a machine went down right after a woman loaded it up and put in her money. She was stressing out, but I pointed out the phone number on the wall and she called it. No answer, but she left a message, and an attendant was there in less than 15 minutes. Seriously great. One week I went to the one closer to my house at Four Corners, and half their machines said they were out of service. Nice big machines, too, so I'll return for comforters and stuff even after my new machines are delivered. read more

Clean, everything worked great, large machines, friendly clientele (not that the owner has much say over that), it's small but efficient. You can purchase supplies at ace hardware next door. I liked the closing door so my baby could walk around. This is the best laundromat in Redding. TV and ac were on. Food nearby. read more

The very first visit to the Orange St. Laundromat I was greeted by a trail of turds on the floor in front of the washing machines....dog poop on the floor....yes really! Not a great start, but a friend of mine had been going to the same laundromat for quite some time and suggested it to me. She convinced me to return since she had never had a poor experience. The second time I arrived there were feathers on the floor and a bag of cornbread mix on top of one of the washers. Since then I have seen cigarette butts, a baggie of weed that has gone through the washer and was left behind, cobwebs, miscellaneous pieces of clothing left behind, and the trash can is almost always overflowing. I have come to understand that the people who come here are generally careless and don't pick up after themselves, but it's not only the people who use the laundromat that are at fault. The management obviously doesn't clean the washers or the floors often..(if ever). Now, I must give the owner some credit...when I had an issue with a machine I was able to contact someone and get assistance right away. I hope the status of the laundromat improves, I like the location and I would like to continue going there. read more
