She treated me with genuine compassion and understanding from start to finish. Jen took the time to learn about my sensory sensitivities and made thoughtful adjustments so I could feel calm and comfortable throughout my care. She also took into account past trauma I've experienced and made sure that nothing about my procedure or recovery would be triggering. Her empathy, professionalism, and gentle reassurance made all the difference. Jen is the kind of nurse who truly changes lives -- I will never forget her kindness. I also want to mention Yuri, the receptionist who checked me in. She was polite, professional, and very pleasant -- a great first impression at check-in. Unfortunately, the experience at discharge was very different. The receptionist seated on the right side of the front desk was extremely rude and dismissive to my mom when she came to pick me up after surgery. Her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for, and it was upsetting after such compassionate care from everyone else. Even my seven-year-old daughter, who was with my mom, noticed and asked why that lady was being rude -- and that says a lot. When a child can recognize disrespect in a medical setting, it's clear there's a serious issue. In short: * Medical team: Excellent. * Jen B: Outstanding -- trauma-informed, kind, and deeply empathetic. * Yuri (check-in): Friendly and professional. * Front desk (right-side receptionist): Rude and unprofessional; absolutely needs attention. I was there for a second opinion on my left foot pain and I found this specialty office to be…read moreexcellent and Dr. Kang that I seen was very knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns and then showed me what he seen on my MRI and explained exactly what was happening to my foot. I explained that the Dr prior gave me the run around for months and he suggested we try a different approach before going to surgery. He said he's had great success and results and I said I was willing to try. Although I was not expecting to have this procedure done right then and there. So we casted my foot and now we wait 3 weeks with no weight bearing, they even gave me crutches. I didn't have to wait for another day or authorization or copayment he just took care of me and I was in an out in an hour. He also explained that this is not a guarantee that it will work and I was ok with that. So we are hopeful this does work and I won't have to have surgery. The office was so large as they had several doctors and nurses and reception staff they were so professional and kind and supportive I would recommend this specialty group to others in need

She strikes me as someone who lacks education and etiquette. Dr. Decker is good though. You have to pay for parking. They do not validate.

They were thorough, detailed, kind, and provided a Get Well Loop portal with checklists and check-ins leading up to and post-surgery for easy daily check-ins. With Hoag Medical Group, the surgery was at the main Hoag Orthopedic Institute hospital on Sand Canyon and I felt well monitored and cared for through the entire process. The nurses were great!! I am just 2 weeks post-op today and grateful for my beautiful new knee and a new lease on life. Thank you, Dr. Hunter, Madison and everyone at Hoag who has provided excellent care for me throughout this difficult journey!

As a medical professional of 28 years, I understand the difference in personality and opinions that doctors can have. Dr Eng was positively awful. He was cocky, arrogant and condescending. He made little eye contact, was defensive and his bedside manner was non existent. His unprofessionalism in critiquing his colleague was beyond off putting. He lacked compassion and the ability to listen and understand. I fully understand that doctors have different personalities, opinions and styles, but I am so unsettled by him. It was a waste of the copay. I am just shocked that Hoag would employ a person of this demeanor . This is a time where I wished AI would have scribed the visit. I would love for a colleague to review. He appears very inexperienced and green in medicine. It will take a lot to make him a successful physician. UPDATE( 2 weeks later)...no follow up from office manager when requested. I guess this is just standard practice there. Had second opinion at other major medical center and was told that upon review of my MRI, they were shocked at the lack of advice that was given to me by Michael Eng,MD.

Dr. Trivellas relieved me of my shoulder injury/pain…read more Imagine waking each morning with a pain of 8/10 to begin your day. Dr. Trivellas confirmed I had strength but I couldn't lift my right arm, as the MRI showed I apparently I had a 90% tear. When I received the call a much sooner surgery day was available in a few days instead of a few weeks, I had to take it. The nursing staff made my 7:30am check-in a smooth one, with lots of information shared with me. The waiting moments leading to Dr. Trivellas visiting before wheeling into surgery was calming. I remember the moment my oxygen mask was put on my face, and the next time I saw a room again I was in recovery. The nerve block was still doing its magic over the next 12 hours, reminding me that my days of waking in the night and morning with pain would be behind me soon. I want to thank Dr. Trivellas of course, but also: her scheduler, Yvonne who got me into the earlier surgery date; Reyna at the front desk to make sure my paperwork was in order; Hanna & Kristi, my Pre-Op nurses who prepped me for my surgery; Dr. Prunean who safely sent me to lala land; Elaine & Rich who were my OR Team; Mikki, my RNFA who let me know she'd be assisting Dr. Trivellas; and my Post-Op nurse Kristi who welcomed me back to reality in the recovery area. My surgery experience went well because of this solid Team of professionals. It will be a slow and steady rehab ahead, but my Team set the tone for a promising pain-free shoulder!

Everyone did a phenomenal job explaining the procedure during pre-op, but what really stood out was how lighthearted and funny they were. They cracked jokes throughout the process, which helped calm our nerves, because let's be honest, most people are at least a little anxious before anesthesia. Dr. Chi was fantastic at explaining the surgery and making sure my husband felt informed. The anesthesiologist (Dr. Gananiyja? Sorry lol doctor's handwriting in the notes is real ) was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor that put us at ease. A special shoutout to the pre-op nurse too (we can't remember if her name was Elaine or Daniela!). UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I…read morehave been to Pedes OC twice trying to see Joe Hewitt. The first time I had to wait for him for 40+ min and I got fed up so they brought in Dr. Goldstein. Then they did an ultrasound and I did a MRI and when I came in, so they could give me the results, I had to wait for Joe Hewitt almost an hour and they couldn't have cared less. I really get irritated when people think that their time is more important than mine or medical offices that just EXPECT patients to wait an hour to see a doctor because the office and the doctor don't have evolved time-management skills. This is very backward and adds unnecessary stress to my day on a Friday when I have so many appointments scheduled. Pedes OC does not respect my time. I work Monday-Thursday and I can schedule all my appointments on a Friday. When I came in here today, I was out at 6:30am and didn't even have breakfast. I was running around non stop and was very upset and hungry by the time I got here at 1pm. A simple consultation should not take 50 min just to talk to the patient. I have important things that I want to do on my day off and it's INFURIATING when a doctor thinks that I have nothing to do and nowhere to be on a Friday. After waiting ONE HOUR for Joe Hewitt, I'm told he won't see me and that I need to come back to see Dr. Goldstein. They made me wait ONE HOUR just to tell me this. Joe didn't even have the common courtesy, consideration nor professionalism to come and say this to me himself. Joe needs to go back to school and learn better time management skills and common courtesy. It's a real shame that after a MD from UCSF and a MBA from USC, that Joe Hewitt STILL doesn't know how to manage his time with patients so that I won't be sitting in the patient room for an hour. The following Monday, I was scheduled to see Dr. Goldstein via telehealth between 4-5pm. I got a voicemail saying he's in a procedure and they'll call me after 5pm when I'm at the gym. I have continued to see him ever since. But it doesn't stop there. I have a very demanding work schedule and Troy and Lily have always been there to help streamline the process. Both are professional and go out of their way every time. As a business owner myself, I know how rare this can be. Troy's innovative ideas and his ability to actually implement them are impressive, and Lily's patience and caring attitude do not go unnoticed either.
