My husband and I got married last month and he was feeling insecure about our first dance since he doesn't consider himself a dancer. He said he'd feel better if we had our first dance choreographed so that he wouldn't have to think of what to do on the spot, and can focus on practicing and memorizing a routine. That said, we found Joe + Sara on Yelp. After the first lesson, we knew they were who we wanted to choreograph our dance. Joe + Sara are not only talented dancers, but also very sweet and personable people to work with. I communicated my vision for our first dance, and Joe immediately understood what I was going for. Joe was very patient when he was teaching us the dance, and it's amazing how when we would return for our lesson 2 weeks later, he can remember our choreo amongst all his other clients' choreo! Our first dance came out AMAZING, and we have Joe + Sara to thank for this! Look no further for a dance instructor. Joe + Sara can do it all! :) read more

10+ stars and more! My fiancé and I knew we wanted to do a choreographed first dance at our wedding. We have never danced before and work demanding hours so we knew we had to find a team that can provide a consultative, personal experience. Joe & Sarah did that and more!! Each and every step of the process was a truly curated process. From identifying a package that works best for us, to the choreography, to the individualized lessons and everything in between, it was exactly what we were looking for! We can't wait to show our friends and family our first dance. Thank you Joe & Sarah!!! read more

My fiancé and I are recommended to Joe and Sara a while back. We are both novice dancers with no dancing background whatsoever. Joe is a great teacher and simplified things so well! I highly recommend coming here to those who are learning first dances for their weddings! read more

Joe is THE best instructor for wedding choreography. Sarah is also the sweetest! Our wedding is in November(just one month out) and we've taken a few classes already. He makes it fun and so easy to grasp. Love his analogies lol. Me and my fiancé have never danced professionally, but we are having fun and learning so quickly! 10/10 recommend them. read more

Joe and Sarah were awesome to work with! My wife and I did not know anything about dancing and Joe taught us the basics and more! His availability with class times was great as my wife and I have busy schedules. Every session we learned a new piece to the dance and added it on - it definitely takes practice to learn but Joe shows you every step of the way. Lastly, with all of Joe's experience, he understands if you're new and has a lot of patience. They also go into the details of what type of venue you're going to perform at and the space/size. Our wedding dance was spectacular - I attached a photo. Joe and Sarah actually care about you and make sure you are ready to go on your big day. read more

Sara and Joe are incredibly talented and patient instructors. I went with my parents to practice our father daughter dance and will be returning with my fiance to practice our first dance ahead of our wedding. Joe has a great sense of breaking the steps down to easy to understand components that even myself with no dance practice can learn. I'm so glad we found this spot! read more

Joe was such a great teacher, my fiancé has 2 left feet and I consider us not intuitive dancers but Joe made it really easy and broke it down! We only had 1 week before our wedding and we booked 90 minutes. It was so fun I want to keep coming as a hobby. read more

My fiancee and I could not recommend Joe and Sara more. We really wanted to make our wedding extra special and thus decided to take lessons for our "first dance". We didn't know what to expect going into our first lesson, as we've never had a dance lesson before, however we could not have been happier with our decision. It was clear they were very knowledgable and experienced. Yet what we loved most was how comfortable they made us feel and how seamless each lesson was. The process felt like a collaboration and after every lesson it felt like our experience and satisfaction with the dance we were constructing for our wedding was the priority. Joe and Sara definitely deserve the praise and recognition they've received from other reviewers. read more

We decided early on in our wedding planning journey that we wanted to take dance lessons for our first dance. We found Joe and OC Wedding Dance Studios, called him up and took a trial lesson. We liked it so much we signed up to take lessons from him. The lessons have been great. Joe takes his time to go over the different moves and has names for each move to help us remember them. We had a few songs in mind and Joe listened to them and helped us choose a song, based on the type of dance we wanted, for our first dance. Each class we learn a new part of the dance and then we practice it at home. We practice multiple times a week in the lead up so Joe only has to touch up a few things and we can move onto the next part, instead of spending a lot of time on one part of the dance. Joe has a great energy and is a wonderful teacher. My fiancé and I are so happy we found Joe and are learning from him! read more

Joe is amazing to work with and made us feel comfortable learning our first dance for our wedding. We've never taken dancing lessons in the past but he made everything make sense to us and we learned so much. His flexibility with scheduling lessons is a huge plus, especially with the busy schedule of wedding planning. I would highly recommend this dance studio. read more

Choosing Joe and Sara was easily one of the BEST wedding decisions we made and we absolutely could not recommend them more. Thanks to their skill, choreography, and the way they make learning dancing so easy, our dance went perfectly on our wedding day. They had asked us all the right questions we never would have thought of to make sure that our grand entrance flowed smoothly into our first dance, and take into account how the audience was seated. My husband and I are far from naturally good dancers, yet we had the loudest cheers from the crowd and we felt so incredibly special to be performing our first dance together amongst our closest family and friends. Our first dance was truly one of the most special moments in our life and a memory we'll never forget. After the dance, when we were greeting guests at each table, so many guests called out how impressed they were with our dance -- among the many things at our wedding they could've commented on, what stuck out most to them was our dance. If you are on the fence about whether it is worth taking professional wedding dance lessons and/or who you should go with, stop hesitating and just choose Joe and Sara!!! read more

Joe and Sara are extremely patient and welcoming dance instructors. It's very clear they love interacting with people and teaching others how to dance. My fiancé and I were looking for dance lessons for our wedding in 2 months. Neither of us considered ourselves as good dancers so this was very unfamiliar for us. After our first lesson with Joe, we felt really comfortable with our first dance and couldn't wait to learn more at our next lessons. He is flexible with dance styles and will tailor a dance routine per your preferences. Joe also did a great job editing the song for our first dance to create a seamless transition. For those concerned, Joe and the studio are very accommodating for COVID-19 precautions. If you're looking for dance lessons, look no further than Orange County Wedding Dance Studios! read more

We cannot thank Joe and Sarah enough for their guidance in helping us with our first dance! They are both incredibly knowledgeable on so many dance styles and considerations we hadn't even thought about. Joe was able to break down a complicated dance into easy to digest pieces, and walk us through the process. My partner and I also really enjoyed learning a new dance together! I am a professor, and part of my job is teaching -- Joe was the perfect teacher in easing us into dance, and allaying our fears. The process brought us closer together, and we would absolutely recommend their service! read more

My fiance and I have been coming to see Joe & Sarah for several weeks now in preparation for our big day. Joe has been amazing! We are both first time dancers, and he has taught us so much in such a short amount of time. He is funny, relatable, and most importantly patient! He goes above and beyond to choreograph your dance and song. He has even edited and cut our song so it works perfectly. I would highly recommend Joe and Sarah for you Wedding Dance! read more

Joe and Sara were fantastic to work with. They are friendly, patient, and very skilled. Our experience with them was nothing short of amazing and we would definitely recommend them to others. Joe was very flexible with our schedule and more importantly, he was accommodating to our dance capabilities. Both he and Sara made us feel confident and comfortable. Joe knows his stuff! We came across and interacted with so many different vendors during our wedding planning process, and I can say that Joe and Sara were one of our favorite partners to work with! read more

We loved working with Joe on our first dance! Joe was very accommodating with our budget and did not push us beyond what we told him we could afford. With that, we were still able to fit in 2 sessions, and he added on 2 more to polish the dance up for free! We were so grateful for his flexibility and also his dedication to teaching us a fun, romantic first dance without the financial stress. On our last lesson we also got to meet his wife Sara, who was also lovely and was so encouraging! She recorded our dance for us and sent us the video so we could watch and see where we needed to improve. Thank you Joe and Sara for your fantastic lessons! We are so much more comfortable and confident in our first dance now, and our weekly dance lessons were a fun date night for us too :) Thank you! read more

Love, Love, Love Sara and Joe!!! Me and my husband (fiancé at the time) went here for dance lessons for our wedding dance. I did a lot of research ahead of time and compared a lot of prices. Private dance lessons can be really expensive. Our experience with Sara and Joe was amazing and totally worth every penny. Everyone at our wedding was amazed and we got tons of compliments!! We choreographed our dance to be a three parter. It was to three different songs and each dance was different. The first song was a slow dance, so the type of dance was called Nightclub two step. Our second song was the song from Greece, titled "Greece Lightning". We did a swing for that song and our last song was from Dirty Dancing, titled "I had the time of my life", which was a salsa. Three totally different dances, they help us put together every step, every transition, and every detail. It was amazing and soo soo much fun!! Sarah can teach anyone to dance. My husband and I are both not a dancer!! They are the best teachers ever!! And I know because we took dance lessons some where else first. This other dance studio was having a special so we tried them out first. We learned more in one lesson with Sarah than we did in 3 lessons somewhere else. If you want to WOW everyone at your wedding with an amazing dance routine this is the place to go. We drove 40 miles every weekend and it was totally worth it. With only 10 lessons, we looked comfortable and professional at our wedding!!! read more

Joe and Sara are the best!! My fiance and I are not coordinated at all and Joe was so patient with us. He explained it in a way that made so much sense. We found Joe and Sarah through the glowing yelp reviews and they did not let us down. We are on our second lesson with them to help prepare for our first dance at our wedding. We don't have any dance experience and Joe has been excellent teacher in explaining the moves and even some history behind each. The pricing is fair and couldn't be more thankful to them for helping us with our big day!! read more

My wife-to-be wanted us to learn to dance for our wedding. I have two-left feet, so I was nervous. Joe and Sarah were very patient with us and we felt more confident about our 'first dance' within about five lessons! He and Sarah helped craft a routine that my partner and I could comfortably practice by our final lesson - thank you guys! read more

I found this dance studio on The Knot when I was looking for a local place to help us choreograph our first dance song. Joe has been amazing to work with! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have fun and wants a beautiful first dance at their wedding! read more

As a couple with no prior dance experience, Joe did an amazing job making the steps easy to understand and learn. Our experience with Joe has been incredible!! My fiancé and I have been taking dance lessons from Joe for the past 7 months in prep for our wedding. It's been the most rewarding and fun experience ever!! Joe and Sara are so thoughtful, and supportive. Joe is an absolute pro and has done an incredible job taking a challenging dance and making it simple and so fun to learn. He really knows how to break down the dance into specific phases and moves, before putting it all together. I never thought in my wildest dreams that learning to dance can be so much fun. I took ballroom dancing as a kid and hated it so much. My fiancé and I are having such a great time that we're going to continue to learn new dances with Joe post wedding!! read more

We are so thankful for Joe and Sara! We love dancing at weddings but we're absolutely awful at it. They took us in about a month before our wedding and I think it took us 5 dance lessons to prepare. We knew we wanted to do a fast, upbeat, and happy song, and we chose Sam Cooke's Twistin' the Night Away. They spent the first 4 lessons teaching us the dance moves, and a week before the wedding we put them all together for the entire song - we were very nervous about not having the whole choreography until the very end but it worked out! We learned so much and honestly all the hours practicing and struggling together (like I said we're very poor dancers!) is a cherished memory. We killed at the wedding - everyone enjoyed it! https://youtu.be/vZcl7wSShss read more

We recently had wedding dance lessons with Joe and Sara. Joe worked with us hard for 2 1/2 months on teaching us this dance for our first dance. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with him and Sara. First of all our dance came out so beautiful. We were so very proud and happy about how we danced. But Joe and Sara were just so excellent. They were so patient with us. And so kind. It was just really a pleasure being with them and learning from them. We were more than satisfied with our results. 5 stars to them!!!!! read more

Joe and Sara were so patient and accommodating to my fiancé and I throughout our lessons. They were able to make me feel comfortable and confident during each of our 4 lessons for our first dance. I would recommend their classes without a doubt to anyone getting married that needs help with a first dance choreography. Thank you both so much!! read more

BELIEVE THE HYPE! All these 5-star reviews are warranted. My newly-minted husband and I have NEVER danced together. Like, EVER. I must admit that we had a bit of a whirlwind romance and decided to get married. Well, *I* decided to get married. While on our first date. My husband is admittedly awkward on the dancefloor. I love to dance, but look like a baby giraffe learning to walk. But that's ok, Joe and Sara were able to choreograph a routine for us that didn't appear to have redundant steps. In 6 lessons, we actually looked like we knew what we were doing! Another thing I appreciated was how they incorporated certain details into the choreography, such as my dress and guest seating arrangements at the reception. A few tips: 1. Get a video of yourself dancing. 2. Until we had the steps memorized, I pinned a cheat sheet to my husband's chest and called out each step as needed. Do yourselves (and your guests who are waiting to eat as they watch you dance) a favor, and get yourself some lessons from Joe and Sara! You (and your guests) will be glad you did! read more

If you're considering doing dance lessons with Joe and Sarah - DO IT!!! It was a wonderful experience. Joe is enthusiastic and passionate about helping couples shine on their wedding day. The lessons were fun, and he makes the choreography look amazing but easy to learn and follow at the same time. Joe took the time to make sure we understood each step!! Joe and Sarah are amazing - look no further for your wedding dance studio. Our wedding guests LOVED our first dance and so did we! read more

I RARELY write reviews (except to complain). I make an exception for Joe and Sara. Our first dance was UNFORGETTABLE and the highlight of our wedding video thanks to Joe and Sara. I chose a relatively complex waltz routine set to a LaLa Land medley because I wanted something beautiful and timeless. Although my poor non-dancing husband was anxious and terrified going in, Joe and Sara helped him find his rhythm and made him Viennese waltz to perfection the night of our wedding! I have never been so proud of him (as was he!). It would never have been possible without the patience and talent of Joe and Sara. They often went over our scheduled time (30 min sometimes!) to help iron out the kinks without hesitation and truly showed that they cared. They even went to watch LaLa Land and actually endured all the youtube links I sent them to perfect the choreography. That's dedication right there. As healthcare professionals-in-training, my husband and I were also long-distance during all of this and so had extremely tight schedules. Joe and Sara were ALWAYS able to accommodate us on weekends and late weeknights. We ended up learning the entire routine in 5 lessons over a 2-week period. Miracles do happen. Now for the quality of instruction you get, you would imagine a high price tag to match. Not so. We researched quite a few companies in the OC ahead of time, and Joe and Sara by far offered one of the lowest rates around. The studio they use is also one of the largest we saw with mirrors all around. It is shared with other professional dancers who use the space, but we never had issues with playing our music and always felt like we were the only ones there. Did I also mention that they are just the sweetest couple? I could go on and on. My husband and I praise them all the time to our friends and family. Thank you so much, Joe and Sara!!! read more

Highly recommend this studio. My fiancé and I took 4 dance lessons here for our upcoming wedding and we had a top notch experience with Joe & Sara. These guys are very talented professional dancers. They gave very clear concise hands on instructions and broke it down perfectly so someone like ourselves could learn with no previous experience. There are a lot of businesses out there who run dance studios but these guys are the real deal. Highly recommend you do it right the first time and go straight to the pros. read more

I would recommend working with this company to everyone I know looking for couples dance lessons! Joe and Sarah have been a pleasure to work with. They customized our music, choreography, and practice schedule. My fiancé and I took 10 private lessons, and had zero dance experience. Joe and Sarah are great! They offer a complimentary first lesson to teach you the basic steps and how to feel the rhythm of a song. At that time, they listened to our first dance song and gave us a quote for how many lessons it would take to come up with the choreography. Joe really caters to your vision for your first dance and to what you're comfortable with doing. We wanted pieces of flair, so he taught us some fun lifts and dips. Joe is very patient, and he explains the dance moves in ways that are easier to understand. Joe and Sarah really cared about making our first dance look fantastic. They even offered dress rehearsals after we finished learning the choreography. At these dress rehearsals, Joe would find ways to enhance our dance. Their price and quality lessons cannot be beat! We had a lot of fun and looked forward to these dance lessons every week. It was sad when these lessons were over, but we felt ready to perform our first dance for our guests. We cannot thank Joe and Sarah enough! Try to start classes early so you get more time to choreograph an awesome dance. They are totally worth it! read more

The best dance teachers in town! Joe and Sara helped transformed us two left feet-ers into Samba dancers! Joe was so patient in helping us prepare for our wedding first dance- the Samba! Joe and Sara were so flexible with our schedule and were always available to teach us. We met once a week and mostly after 9pm. They were always energetic and ready to go when we were in class. Here are the breakdown of our amazing experience: Occasionally: wedding first dance Time we had to learn: 6 weeks Schedule: flexible; studio is usually open until 11pm Class: private (mainly with Joe, but Sara helped when she can) Choreography: Joe will help you choreograph the dance as he introduced and teaches you the steps. What we did was learn the steps and choreographed the sequence. Joe was very encouraging of that and helped us move along. At the 6 week period, he mainly came in to get help with style and technique. Studio: the studio is available for you to use and practice after you discuss with Joe as there are other classes/groups/couples using the studio to do the same. Overall: we're planning on continuing our dance lessons to learn ballroom dancing for fun! It definitely paid off with hard work on our wedding day! Our guests were very impressed and entertained!! Thank you Joe and Sara! read more

My husband, Andy and I, took wedding dance lessons here for our big day. We loved taking lessons from Joe because he was kind, patient, professional, and skillful. We chose the songs, and Joe customized our dance to the songs. He even adjusted the song in his music software to the length that I wanted. What I was impressed by was how Joe balanced my husband's inexperience with my desire for a beautiful dance to create the perfect dance. And he did! It was one of the best money spent for our entire wedding as it provided us something meaningful to do together that also invited our loved ones to witness and enjoy during our day. The dances themselves were so beautifully choreographed and seamless. It was amazing to hear our guests gasp in awe during some signature moves. These dances left a mark in our lives even after 1.5 years later and we still talk about what a great experience it was.
