After reading your message, I went back and looked into the situation and the review on yelps more carefully, and I agree that there are parts of what happened that do not line up with the way it was originally explained to us. If you called on Friday to confirm the event, and then called again on Saturday asking where the chef was, Savvy and yumo should have caught the date issue at that point and addressed it with you immediately. You should not have been told that the chef would call you, only to continue waiting and then receive a cancellation by text later that evening. I completely understand why you are so upset. No one wants something like this to happen, especially on their own birthday. I also have my birthday in August, so I can personally understand how disappointing it would feel to put time, money, and effort into planning a special celebration and then have the main service fall through at the last minute. We are now reviewing the communication handled by the two customer service team members- Savvy and yumo who spoke with you. Because their conversations with you directly affected how this order was handled, we are treating this seriously and reviewing whether important information was missed or not properly escalated. If we find that there was any failure to accurately report or handle what happened, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, including suspension if warranted. Aside from the food, Berkley brought 10/10 vibes, a considerably large smoker, easy up, and Karaoke! He was slapping tunes all day and I always felt welcomed and comfortable any time I came out to chat with him. He came in early and cooked on site, which was massively helpful, knowing that there was not even a delivery/pickup needed. They prepared all the food and served the entire party. His menu selections were top notch, and my husband and I were thrilled with the outcome. We did 3 appetizers before the 4 course meal began.
