My biggest issue is with the gentleman who works there . He is abrasive and it's such a fascinating juxtaposition to have a toxic presence be the face of a health food place. Maybe he feels forced to work at the family business and it shows. Having said all this, I'm grateful to have the convenience of the market in the neighborhood, especially the bulk bins and fresh peanut butter. However I have been overcharged here on numerous occasions, including on advertised store deals that mysteriously disappear when the item is rung up. Case in point: Oatly Barista is $3.99 per the circular but I was charged $6.99 today. You can't see what the price is because the monitor is facing away from you, so you have to ask for a receipt and scan it hoping they didn't try to scam you out of your hard earned money. The most egregious example was when I was charged $8.99 on a $3 baguette and no one stopped to wonder why the bakery counter was using rotisserie chicken stickers to close their bread packaging I am tired of having to flag down a manager, take pictures of price stickers and keep a spreadsheet tracker of all the foods I buy here just so I know what I won't be overcharged on. As they say, fool me once... At least it doesn't smell like rancid, rotting meat and cardboard. That Food Bazaar/Freshdirect continues to get my money while three grocery stores are in the area just speaks to the robbery that occurs in Hunters Point. Only come here if you are desperate.

This establishment doesn't take credit cards over the phone, don't have anything on their website to make remote orders that allow customers to build their own sandwiches and pay for them with a credit card, and most importantly, don't send deliveries out with a credit card remote processing device. My favorite go to, Court Square Diner, has used those devices for years. Prestige recommended I go through Grubhub to place my order, , but there is no way to build your own sandwich on that site. This is the second Korean-run deli in the Hunter's Point Long Island City neighborhood that disrespects their customers. As to the other market, E& I Deli on Vernon Blvd., I shopped there for over 30 years, agreeing to pay their ridiculously over-inflated prices for the convenience. I opened a house account so they had my credit card on file and this allowed me to place remote orders by phone with those manning the registers. In the last couple of years, they hired two teenagers to process orders and for reasons unknown to me, they turned out to be nasty and bratty and refused to process my remote orders. The final straw was when I ordered a can of coffee and these employees told me they were out of the item. Of course this was a ridiculous lie, but at that point I had had enough. I approached the owner about the problems and he refused to talk with these employees and rein in their nasty behavior. My supposition is that they may have been relatives and as such could act anyway they pleased. The fact that I was a long standing customer, who had shopped there for over 30 years, had absolutely no influence on the owner. Once that communication was made, I refused to accept their awful misconduct and have boycotted them for the last few years. This is a cautionary tale to Prestige, who was uncooperative to me this evening. If they want their business to thrive past Center Blvd., you should come up with a foolproof system to address the cash vs. credit card acceptance issue.
