Eh, this store is okay. They have the essentials of any grocery store and it's convenient in a…read morepinch, but nothing to write home about. The store is okay sized and their produce department is solid. However the meat department is really lacking. There's nowhere near enough selection in the butcher case compared to a place like Fairway. I find Morton William's prices to be a little on the high side compared to a place like Fairway, for just about the same quality. My one huge gripe is that I have run into a number of items that aren't price marked. It seems silly to buy produce and most regular groceries here when right outside is a fruit cart selling the same Driscoll strawberries for $2 instead of $6. Also, with Target just opening up on 70th and 3rd, it makes more sense to go there for regular grocery items since it's 40 percent of the prices at Morton Williams.

It's hilarious and comforting to read the numerous reviews by others who experience rudeness here…read more I worked in customer service throughout college and no matter how I felt I always treated customers like royalty or at the very least with decency, not because I had to do so, but because it felt like the right thing to do. Treat people kindly. Be courteous. Golden rule. You never know whose day you can be making (or ruining). You know. I won't say much else. The other reviews say plenty. Also, two stars rather than one because at least they are open 24/7.

I usually shop at the Food Town down the road (they have their own issues - do not buy salmon there…read moreunless your like salmon that smells super-fishy) but when it's freezing out I go to Wholesome Factory because it's closer to my apartment. I've never used the deli section on the left side (as you enter the store) so can't speak about that. My review is about the grocery side on the right. The servers are usually friendly and professional. The produce section is very good for a store of this size, and there's a good selection of packaged goods, especially the herbal tea section. But steer clear of their sliced bread - they don't carry standard brands like Pepperidge Farm and they don't remove old bread from the shelf - they can and will sell you bread that is over two weeks old. I neglected to check the date, like a sucker, until I took a bite out of the bread (Rudi's organic multi-grain oats) and wondered why it was so stale. I bought it today, January 17 but the date was December 30. I didn't find this loaf on some forgotten back shelf - it was right in the center of the middle shelf. $9.99 down the drain. And almost every bag of frozen vegetables I've bought there has been unusable thanks to freezer burn. Last week the organic broccoli I bought was covered in brownish ice (ugh!) So it's good for some types of groceries, not so good for others.

Wrong order and absolutely terrible service…read more When I explained that they sent me the wrong bagel they took no responsibility for the mistake. Further more they asked me to return the bagel to PROVE that it was wrong. I told them I can't return it because I'm allergic to one of the items on the sandwich and had to throw it away, but that I took a picture. They still demanded that I return the bagel. I got frustrated and ended up yelling because there was literally nothing I can do since the bagel was thrown out into the incerator...(again allergic, needed out of the house asap). They REFUSED to fix their mistake.l and hung up on me. Never ordering again and I recommend no one does.

Products I keep buying on repeat are: spicy salsa with their yellow corn tortilla chips, their pizza dough, their shredded cheeses are fantastic, their fresh pasta and fresh vodka sauce, I like to add pearl mozzarella to that pasta dish. Add a sprinkle of Maldon Salt, and MmmmMMmMmMmmmm The desserts are so good!!! They also carry seriously good caramels, sold individually by checkout or in boxes in the fresh cookie isle. I always buy them for my Mom because she fell in love with them. They sell beautiful breads, pre-cut fruit, that comes with a little fork so you can feel like a diva while you eat it. The seafood is wild caught. When I cook shrimp, I always get it from here.

DONT EVER - put your body in front of a customer who you have profiled and believe to be stealing when THEY ARE NOT. and for as victim of racial profiling - I don't care with your jamician, African, or white - stop it. IT WAS AROUND 8:15 ON a Saturday night on may 2nd. Profile me again, and I'm making a formal review with management. BLACK FOLK BEWARE WHEN YOUR IN HERE. East Side Grocery is a true exception. We have lived nearby and gone there for the past 5 years. Each and every worker... I REPEAT... EACH AND EVERY WORKER in that store is so polite, kind, professional and warm every single time we go into the store!! They were like this from the first time we entered to place. The products are organized and neatly stocked. It is a very clean and comfortable place to do some local shopping. If you ask questions about a particular item they are more than willing to assist you. They have lots of snacks, household goods, and a great selection of craft beer (among other things). If you are in the area, they also do fast and efficient deliveries of just about any item in the store. The owner/proprietor is totally nice and approachable. I guess he sets the tone for the lovely staff!! I highly recommend this local grocery store. You will always feel welcome when you go there.

Instead of my oddly specific late night needs, the place is stocked with everything you could dream of (besides microwavable rice and avocados, of course). I soon forgot my troubles of not acquiring microwavable rice and avocados as I was quickly entranced by their wide selection of candy, cheese, bevies, and classic NYC coffee (light and sweet). All I have to say is... slay, East Side Grocery. UPDATE: I returned 2 days later against my better judgement (once again, in a vulnerable state) only to find it seems my review was noticed as there was a basket full of divine avocados! Thanks, ESG!
