I usually only review places that serve tacos and margaritas, but I made an exception for Optimum…read morebecause they are pretty awesome. I started coming here for treatment about six weeks ago. I hurt my shoulders while trying to free climb El Capitan in Yosemite. Haha, just kidding, I'm old and hurt myself climbing out of my car. Anyway, the entire staff is kind, patient and professional, from the front desk to the physical aids and therapists. The facility itself is small and shares space with a dentist. I admit to being skeptical at first. But what Optimum lacks in physical size they make up for with personalized service. I never felt ignored or unimportant, and the staff was committed to getting me healthy. They were also very helpful and accommodating with some insurance issues on my part. I'm glad I gave this place a try and am indebted to their work. One final note: don't be fooled by their location next to Mr. Pete's. You might be thinking to yourself, "Oh cool, I can get physical therapy and then grab chili cheese fries on the way out." Mr. Pete's sucks. I'm sorry. But I guess I should leave that for another review.

I went to the website and filled out a form and eventually received a text message. I called the next day and was able to connect to someone who was not sure why no one had responded to my previous messages of the past few weeks. I was 5 min early to my second appointment but they did not take me in until 15 min after my scheduled time. My third appointment I arrived on time but they are out to lunch from 1-2 everyday. They over scheduled and had 7 people waiting for two therapists/aides. The main therapists appear to be very knowledgeable and did help with my leg injury. They gave good advice and what appeared to be an accurate diagnosis. Overall I would say it's good care with poor logistics.

I stopped going there because I had a side stitch attack that no longer allow me to continue plus the assistant didn't or couldn't do anything about it just to report it. I reported to my primary Dr to ask for a manual treatment, not just light 15 minute movement. So far I have not gotten an approval. So not sure if I should continue this way.

It's very easy to get an appointment there and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The office is clean and there's a lot of equipment. I am receiving therapy here because I had knee surgery. I've been in pain for months and it was a couple of months after I had surgery before my PT was approved. They Physical Therapists have worked with me to rebuild the muscles in my legs. With the exercises in the office along with the exercises that I am supposed to do at home, I'm much stronger and in a lot less pain. I can now take the stairs when I'm out and I can walk much farther. My leg is getting better each day. The only issue that I've had sometimes is parking. It's awful, so allow yourself plenty of time to find parking. There is a parking lot for the medical building, but it's very busy. It's much easier to find parking on the street.

The Norwalk location is a good size and counts with everything you need for your recovery. The only thing missing is a pool for water therapy. However, most people don't need it. All the staff (doctors, therapists, therapy aids, and receptionists) are lovely. They are all knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and caring. They are always willing to help and repeat instructions for those of us that have memory issues. I like this place so much that I am willing to commute 30 miles each way.

She put me in a closed room and assessed me and I saw how she carefully put her plan to action. The injury is in my thoracic, neck, upper extremities, and right arm and hand. Just on that day I went home feeling relief. The following weeks I was treated by Patrich, and then Abel who determined to get my arm to have improved range of motion. When I say determined, I mean he made sure I left that place drastically improved. I whole heartedly can say this is the best team of therapists that I can recommend will do everything they have within them to improve your physical health. I have seen it as they treat the young athletes that come in and the elderly. They are well rounded. The front receptionist Priscilla is also the best! She is very attentive and provides me with all my appointments and reminders. 100% RECOMMENDED.

If I ever had a concern or issue, the front office staff (Denise Ortega) and Debra (social worker) were very responsive and helpful; I have so much appreciation for them! The nurses tended to him on a regular basis by changing his sheets and cleaning his room, giving him sponge baths, changing his diapers, and changing his clothes that I left hanging in his closet. The nurses who had a positive impact on my father were Molina, Monse, Cristina, and a male nurse from Jordan who trimmed my dad's beard. When my dad was discharged, he missed them all so much! The nursing staff gave him medicine on time and Dr. Sharma did a good job of monitoring his symptoms and labs. My dad loves food and not once did he complain about their food, so that was telling for me! The cafeteria staff were always friendly. The physical and occupational therapists were friendly, supportive, and positive with my father; thank you, Claire, Araceli, and Carlos! They were very helpful to him gaining some of his strength back. They had a kitchen, bathroom, and a car in their PT/OT space that allowed my father to practice doing certain things when he returned home.

My father suffers from dementia/confusion following surgery and is considered a high fall risk. Shortly after arrival, we became extremely concerned about the level of supervision, responsiveness, and overall safety precautions in place for vulnerable patients. We had to request additional safety measures ourselves, including bed rails and a floor mattress, because we did not feel comfortable leaving him unattended overnight. I ultimately stayed overnight at the facility myself to help monitor his condition and ensure his safety. What made the situation even more concerning was learning about the facility's recent survey deficiencies while simultaneously witnessing several troubling issues firsthand. The overnight staffing situation appeared overwhelmed, and the environment did not feel appropriate for someone recovering from surgery with cognitive impairment and complex medical needs. Our family has since begun requesting a transfer to another facility because we no longer feel confident this is a safe or appropriate environment for his recovery. I understand healthcare workers are often under difficult conditions, and I appreciate the individual staff members who tried to help, but overall this experience has been heartbreaking and extremely stressful for our family during an already vulnerable time.
