I found the center to be very clean and helpful associates who directed me to the right room. The tax volunteers were fabulous, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I picked up an April calendar listing all the great things offered at this Center. I will be joining and partake in activities/events. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

The indoor track is free to walk and is air conditioned - bonus for those walkers who dread the summer heat. Use of the gym is at a cost - I think around $60 for the year, so it's pretty inexpensive but the gym is pretty small. They offer a variety of fitness/dance classes, at a cost, including: aerobics, ballet, belly dance, kickboxing, pilates and yoga + many more. They also offer specialty education classes including: oil painting, computers and spanish. I have taken a few of the classes and they are pretty inexpensive and last for a few months at a time - either once or twice weekly. It seems that they offer a lot of classes and activities for kids and seniors as well. Other amenities include indoor basketball court, softball fields, soccer field, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The center is always clean and the staff is incredibly helpful. If in or close to the neighborhood this is a great community center to have access to.

She's been great and I was so impressed with the experience I had with this rescue that I started volunteering there. The rescue takes in mostly German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois from puppies to seniors and from various backgrounds - strays, owner surrenders, from other shelters (some on the e-list), medical hardships, etc. Once under SPRA care the dogs are well fed, are walked and/or get play time outside of their kennels 4 times a day, receive medical care if needed, etc. The volunteers and staff also work with the dogs on socialization and basic training. It's also important to know that SPRA is a no kill shelter. Bottom line, if you're looking for a German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois please check out Saving Paws Rescue Arizona. They have so many wonderful dogs looking for a family like my pup pictured below, adopt don't shop.

There is so much JOY in the residents and the teams that work with them and there is a true sense of comradery, family and connection. As seniors age, mental and physical capacity may become diminished, but there is still so much spark in the residents I have worked with here and I truly believe it's because the teams working for the communities foster such a wonderful spirit of love and togetherness. They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! I am not just saying this because I have worked with them for several years doing marketing photography, but because I truly do see a special difference in these communities. Heritage is truly top-notch and a place I've already started comfortably recommending to family friends, because I believe they have something truly special.

I would visit my dad twice a month, then once a week, and ultimately every day before he passed, and all of my visits were completely without notice, as even I didn't know exactly when I would be there next. With that said, each time I saw my dad, I found him to be very well cared for, dressed in clean clothes, hair combed, shaved, and in good spirits. The staff knew what his habits were, be it how he takes his coffee in the morning or a nightcap in the evening. His room, bedding and personal items were always clean and organized. I credit the staff entirely for his condition. The staff was always very caring and helpful to my dad and to me as well. Everyone knew who my dad was and how he was doing on any particular day or week. They were encouraging of him to play the piano as well as other activities, but they also gave him the space to do nothing if that is what he wanted. Without question, Orchard Pointe was a great place for my dad to have lived his end of life, and I would recommend them to anyone wholeheartedly.

Sorry I have to mention that when I contacted her about not receiving a paper receipt (that I requested during checkout- even my stating if possible, it's still unprofessional not to communicate), she ignored it until I had to remind her to reply with an update, and she stated she was not going to do that. I also had to remind her to ship me the parade booklet, which she ignored also and fessed that she's the only one handler of this organization and stated that the parade scouts will pass them out or to send her a SASE to ship me a leftover. I mentioned that she could have told me this earlier. I stated that I'm the only one too, and I'm contacting my card issuer to obtain a receipt. I concluded that I would not attend her parade. I knocked down a star. Sorry! I attended their Happy Hour event at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale on Nov 1 to watch this year's chosen Grand Marshal, 1980s supermodel Kim Alexis, speak about her career as well as to lend support to recognize our nation's local veterans. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and was contacted by this organization due her stance as a local role model and positive outlook. She also did a photo op + signing afterwards. I brought my Glamour magazine (January 1983 issue ;) ) for her to sign! The organization did a good job with the setup and appetizers and showed up on time. And, they were were polite and professional with Kim. It was a fun-filled evening and I hope to watch the parade in uptown Phoenix on the 11th!i
