There is so much JOY in the residents and the teams that work with them and there is a true sense of comradery, family and connection. As seniors age, mental and physical capacity may become diminished, but there is still so much spark in the residents I have worked with here and I truly believe it's because the teams working for the communities foster such a wonderful spirit of love and togetherness. They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! I am not just saying this because I have worked with them for several years doing marketing photography, but because I truly do see a special difference in these communities. Heritage is truly top-notch and a place I've already started comfortably recommending to family friends, because I believe they have something truly special.

My dad lived at Orchard Pointe, Terrazza, for the last 10 months of his life within their memory…read morecare division. I would visit my dad twice a month, then once a week, and ultimately every day before he passed, and all of my visits were completely without notice, as even I didn't know exactly when I would be there next. With that said, each time I saw my dad, I found him to be very well cared for, dressed in clean clothes, hair combed, shaved, and in good spirits. The staff knew what his habits were, be it how he takes his coffee in the morning or a nightcap in the evening. His room, bedding and personal items were always clean and organized. I credit the staff entirely for his condition. The staff was always very caring and helpful to my dad and to me as well. Everyone knew who my dad was and how he was doing on any particular day or week. They were encouraging of him to play the piano as well as other activities, but they also gave him the space to do nothing if that is what he wanted. Without question, Orchard Pointe was a great place for my dad to have lived his end of life, and I would recommend them to anyone wholeheartedly.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Talk & Taste Event hosted by the Desert Awareness…read moreCommittee of Cave Creek on Saturday, April 4, 2026--and it was absolutely fantastic! I first discovered this incredible group back in January during one of their desert tours. I was so impressed by the enthusiasm, depth of knowledge, and the fascinating discoveries shared along the way that I knew I wanted more--so signing up for Talk & Taste was an easy decision. And it did not disappoint. What stood out most was how beautifully organized the entire experience was. At each stop, passionate volunteers shared unique edible desert delights--perfectly paired with just the right amount of information to spark curiosity and leave you wanting more. A heartfelt thank you to Mimi, Diane, Abby, and the many dedicated volunteers who make this "best kept secret" so special. If you're visiting the Valley--or even if you live here--make the trip to beautiful Cave Creek and experience the desert in a way you never have before. It's an experience you'll truly cherish.

Update # 2: I managed to attend the parade and one of the Scouts gave me the parade program booklet…read more@ the parade before the march, and I let Paula know about this on my e-mail reply to her, which she was happy about. So, all good now. So, I posted my 3 parade video samples here. Enjoy! "Never Forget, Forever Honor" 11-11 @ 11 AM Thank you for your service. view/download digital booklet: https://honoringamericasveterans.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Parade-Program-2023-FA.pdf Update: re: "executive director" Paula... Sorry I have to mention that when I contacted her about not receiving a paper receipt (that I requested during checkout- even my stating if possible, it's still unprofessional not to communicate), she ignored it until I had to remind her to reply with an update, and she stated she was not going to do that. I also had to remind her to ship me the parade booklet, which she ignored also and fessed that she's the only one handler of this organization and stated that the parade scouts will pass them out or to send her a SASE to ship me a leftover. I mentioned that she could have told me this earlier. I stated that I'm the only one too, and I'm contacting my card issuer to obtain a receipt. I concluded that I would not attend her parade. I knocked down a star. Sorry! I attended their Happy Hour event at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale on Nov 1 to watch this year's chosen Grand Marshal, 1980s supermodel Kim Alexis, speak about her career as well as to lend support to recognize our nation's local veterans. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and was contacted by this organization due her stance as a local role model and positive outlook. She also did a photo op + signing afterwards. I brought my Glamour magazine (January 1983 issue ;) ) for her to sign! The organization did a good job with the setup and appetizers and showed up on time. And, they were were polite and professional with Kim. It was a fun-filled evening and I hope to watch the parade in uptown Phoenix on the 11th!i
