They don't provide service in the store They will give you a bunch of toll free numbers to try. Today I went there because I didn't have internet. Was told to return the modem. I did. They gave me a new one. It didn't help. The guy who called with the 1800 number told me a tech tried to call but we weren't home. Turns out Optimum says I scheduled the appointment last week. I didn't. I showed the girl at the office my calls. No calls to Optimum. You get billed $60 for missing an appointment. Would definitely assign five negative stars if I could! The absolutely worst customer service response I have ever witnessed... I own a three-unit, and needed to cancel the service in one of the units because that tenant wished to have his own service, I collected that equipment and turned it in to the store. Somehow, the wrong unit's service was turned off. I don't know how this happened, and neither it seems, does anyone else within Optimum's organization. Eventually, after much misdirection, I had to have the service restarted, with a professional installer to come back out: * My tenant had eight days without internet * My security system was unable to function without the internet * I had to spend over SEVEN hours on the phone with many different Optimum "customer service agents" to get this problem recitified * I also had to hire someone to be available to wait for the professional installation (for which I was charged $100), as the soonest time slot was one for which I was already unavailable. Optimum's response: * I was credit the $100 for the installation (understandable) * But for the loss of use and my inconvenience, I was credited $15!!!!! I guess I will need to spend some more time finding another internet solution, as OBVIOUSLY, Optimum has no regard for the inconvenience caused by their own personnel! read more

Optimum is completely incapable of doing business. Neither their website nor their employees are intelligent enough to set an appointment date in the future without "changing it" six times. Despite their constant harassing phone calls, I have managed to keep my appointment time. Even their helpdesk called to tell me how they're going to go to a house I don't own, before I close, to install services that (I am sure) will scare the current resident out of her wits. Suddenlink came in and installed lines in our community we were excited to switch to a higher speed internet. They came in and had issues running their service to our home, after months of rescheduling and having different people come out and do nothing we had to move on and cancel. We never received equipment, or any type of service yet they want to bill us $300. Absolutely ridiculous, it has been 2 years!! every time they sell the debt to a new collection company, we have to call suddenlink on three-way with the collection company in line. Expect an entire day wasted because the wait time are over an hour and when you finally connect with someone they are not able to help. worst company, worst customer service, if you have options..... RUN! and do not look back. save yourself the headache and years of frustration. read more

I have so much trouble with Suddenlink. I have had 5 different appointments now and they do not tell you about the change. I have had a wire UPS has pulled down with there truck and it's like 3 feet off the ground. If I could get good internet with someone other than Suddenlink I would. PLEASE, USE ZULU OR ANYBODY BESIDES SUDDENLINK (ALTICE). Their service is lousy and they keep increasing their fees. Have been a loyal customer for 30 years and trying to communicate a problem to them now is an exercise in futility/maddening. First, you get a call center in India where a so-called representative takes your call. They are obnoxious and rude. It's a waste of time to call them. You get a lot of double talk and no results. I have had nothing but billing issues with this company and it is near impossible to get someone to help you. First, be prepared to wait on hold for someone to answer. Once you express your concern over their numerous billing problems, some of the agents will tell you that you've reached online support and will put you back on hold! It has now been over a week since Suddenlink tells me there's a service interruption in my area. My speeds were 1.3 download and less than one upload. First technician said my router was defective. Informed me that he didn't have one to replace it with at that time... Would get one within a few days and put my name on it, so when I called back he would come install it. I started calling and texting that technician early on a Monday morning. I texted and called the number he actually put in my phone. All to no avail! Finally giving up on him... I called Suddenlink and was then told that a different technician would be out the following day. Sure enough the technician did show... Took out the old router and put in a new one. After saying thatMy service call wasn't on his phone, everything had to be entered manually. He said, it would take up to an hour for the router to be connected. Both technicians on this call, left to go do other service calls. After over one hour... I could not connect, because the password didn't match the router. So, the two came back and removed the router and installed a second, new router. Sure enough, the password worked this time. No, here's the great part. My speeds were frozen molasses slow with the old router and now that I have a new router I have no service! They continue to tell me there is a service outage in my area, which seems to have been going on for several months. You would think... Somebody could figure it out. Suddenlink charged our family homestead $168 for years for only basic cable and a landkine. They told me they had over charged me for years. I switched immediately. They only said they would give us 2 free months for years of overpaying. Sad. Suddenlink is a scam company. We were life long until we figured out the over charges. I have only had this service since March 2017...I have had they so called service people out three times already and am not even home half the time and only "try" to use the internet less then an hour a day but half the time it is so slow or doesn't work at all I just close my laptop and cuss the same is true with my so called TV service , the last time they came out some time at the end of July 2017 they said well you just have to do with out your lower channels that the wire was old and maybe new wire would help but they not going to do that . How in the world can they get away with this they charge $130.00 a month for about $20.00 worth of service am going to report them to the B.B.B. but I bet then will not help . EVERY SINGLE TIME they "fix" my grandmother's modem (which only operates her phone since she does not have a computer), I can't get a call to go through. This is a frequently recurring problem. More than that, they have the audacity and gall to try to charge her when this happens. It can't possibly be her fault since she doesn't use any of their gear, but only her phone. read more

This company is so misleading on all levels from the first time getting service to installing to billing. They are over priced and don't honor there flyers from the mail. They told me so many stories from when hook up will be to customer service they make you think someone will be calling you back in 2 to 3 business days and than when you call to check that customer service rep tells you there is no record of the previous phone call you made 2 to 3 days ago. My bill was double from the flyer to the actual bill that comes in the mail. Two different totals. Billing on the statement is in correct from billing dates to the amount. This company knows there is no other cable service than them here in Paris Tx so they take advantage of that in everyway. Better business Bureau will most definitely be getting a call from me. Customer service is absolutely terrible. Every time our internet goes out( which happens very frequently) they say "oh you need a new modem" which is complete crap because we've gone through 3 in the past month. After multiple technicians I finally called my friend who is a very talented technician and electrician and after checking he realized the transformer wires needed to be replaced. However only 3 people on our street have suddenlink so they refuse to fix it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. read more
