TERRIBLE customer service. I can not access my account online. I've had them for 9 months and have had nothing but issues. My account does not show my bill. I ask for them to show me something that shows my bill and they refuse. Ive called them since 9 am and it is now 4:51pm. My service is now shut off even AFTER making the payment. Couldn't get installed .. canceled before service was even installed. Their contracted install tech assigned our home is full of sh!!z. Returned our install for no access when we were home w door open and Vivint cameras everywhere. Buried drop technician hired by the company was here when this allegedly happened.. he was great.. other than that you as a company can't even send a tech to spend5-10 minutes to put on ends and plug in your equipment on a coax run that I did because your install tech that came Wednesday before said he couldn't do. I requested Optimum internet service in Lubbock. When I spoke with customer service, I specifically asked if they would need to drill any holes in my house wall. They assured me that since they don't use fiber lines, no drilling would be necessary. However, a technician called and informed me that he needed to install a box on my wall, which would require drilling. I told him I wanted to be present if any holes were going to be made. When he asked if I was home and I said no, he abruptly told me he would cancel the service and then hung up. Unhappy with the technician's attitude, I called Optimum customer service and canceled the service request. Despite the cancellation, I later discovered that the technician had installed the box, drilled multiple holes in my wall without my permission, and left the line lying across my yard. This has not only damaged my property but also made it difficult for my neighbor and me to mow our lawns. I am requesting that Optimum remove the box and the line, repair the damage to my wall, and resolve this issue promptly. read more

I had gotten Optimum Internet about a month ago. It was great for the first week and after that the internet has been going out several times a day each day. It is not worth how much we pay a month. My fiance and I are very disappointed in the quality. No matter what they tell you, you're going to be better off with literally anyone else. I own my own business, and I have always had issues with AT&T, so I switched to Optimum. I was promised faster and more reliable service, cheaper service than AT&T, and local help. As I write this review, I am on the phone with AT&T to switch back. I have had nothing but trouble with Optimum. No matter my issues with AT&T, at least it was better than this. Since I started using Optimum, I've actually paid double what I was paying AT&T, received no local help, (at least by phone) and the most frustrating service I have ever experienced with internet. My Optimum rep left his card and phone number with me, but after the initial few months never called back and never responded to emails, texts, or anything else. I NEVER raise my voice at customer service people. It's not who I am, and it's not how I was raised. Optimum changed all of that. Not long into signing up for Optimum, I had an issue where my card reader would not connect to my router. My phone, my laptop, my cellphone, my tablet, my Nintendo switch have never had any issue connecting. Just my card reader. I called Optimum, they gave me the "Have you tried turning it off and on again" thing (I did) then they told me the fault was on the card reader side. I called them, and they sent me back to Optimum. Honestly, it made more sense to me that it was on my CC processor's side, since that was the only device that wasn't working. As a small business, not having a credit card processor is a death blow. I don't know what Optimum did, but they were able to fix it... for a while. Eventually, it happened again. And again. And again. FIVE TIMES I have had this problem. Five times, I have had to sit through hours of hold music just to get the same responses and temporary fixes. The last time they "fixed it," they created a separate channel that was 2.4 GHz, which is what things like card processors and security cameras require to operate. However, none of this was ever told to me, and it shouldn't matter because the router they send you is "smart wifi" which is an all in one kind of thing where it has 5 GHz AND 2.4 GHz. And yet, I am currently sitting at my desk with no processor, while typing a review with my perfectly connected laptop. I actually called them again, was finally pushed up the escalation chain, and now, after being a customer for over half a year, they tell me that I need to go buy my own router or equipment. I was never told this. So, to sum up. Optimum is charging me double what AT&T did, the service doesn't work, I have hundreds of dollars in sales loss because I can't process cards, my rep went completely MIA, and after all that, they want me to spend potentially hundreds of dollars more to buy more equipment just to get the overpriced service to work. As a business owner myself, I hate to say this, but I really hope that Optimum goes out of business. The experience I've had has been completely unacceptable. I don't even write reviews. I hate the "If I could give this place negative stars, I would" or the "I created an account just so I could rate this place" cliched responses, so I find myself in the surprising situation of agreeing with both. I know this review was long-winded and probably way too long, but I hope this will at least help one person out there. Optimum is the worst ISP I've ever been with. I've been with AT&T, Suddenlink, and plenty of others, and this one is BY FAR the worst in every single way. All they had to do was be better than AT&T. He transferred rooms and they have a record of where I transferred his phone to the new room. About 3 months later, his phone is turned off, because the new resident in the old room got a phone. It took me speaking to 13 people (most not even in the USA), 2 appointments for hook up, and 1 month to get him a phone. They owe me $254.20 from being pre-paid and I still have not received it. Have not received a current bill yet because they have it being sent to my Dad instead of my address. Absolutely the worst. I had them for my business account. When I switched providers after I relocated they tried to hostage my business phone number for what amounted to 16 days. The reason they chose to hold it until the 17th was so they could say that I had to keep my account open with them to port the number over. What I didn't know was they held it until one day into the new billing period and then try to say that because I rolled over into the new billing period that I was responsible for paying for another month of services. So what they're trying to do is charge me for what was basically a month and half of not actually receiving service from them. I also want to point out that they raised my bill to what amounted to a $25 dollar increase. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be ripped off like this and charged for things that I'm not receiving. Absolutely the WORST. Only able to find customers by buying out previous operator. No one would willingly do business with these crooks. Since my last Optimum update I have filed a complaint with the FCC. Also I filed a complaint with the BBB. Out of thousands of complaints to the BBB they have received a very generous "F". I have an idea there was not an option to rank them any lower than F as there should. What is sad is out of all the lawsuits and complaints for deceptive billing practices they are allowed to operate in the US. If someone is a customer and have had no issue, wait until you want to cancel or take advantage of a better deal that doesn't keep raising their rates. I now am getting gouged with charges after I canceled, returned their equipment and pulled their plug. And when I refuse to pay? They threatened to turn it over to collections. They keep insisting I have a contract with them. However, they have not bothered to produce evidence of said contract. Funny how they expect to be considered legit, but they don't operate like most legit businesses do. Also the friendly offer to "look into my bill" has never resulted in any attempt to do anything but continue to ask to be paid for doing and providing nothing. Last month, September 2022, my internet would go down for 5-10 minutes every 30-60 minutes all day for about 2 weeks straight, and just about every month the problem will occur, of which it started again today, October 9th 2022. I've had Suddenlink now for two years, since I moved to Lubbock and AT&T UVerse wasn't available. The Tv and internet package is almost $170 per month. Ridiculous. I've called twice to cancel, the first time they talked me Into staying and just went down to a bare minimum package of 29 channels, with internet it was still $115 and just as others have said...most of the time the internet is down or it goes on and off all day long. The internet and TV service has been very spotty this causes the tv to freeze up and the picture is distorted and so any recordings are useless. This time I called to cancel and they tried to talk me out of it. I have already signed up with AT&T for less and a better package!! I don't mind being in a contract if it means I get a good product and honest service!!! I cancelled after a 30 minute conversation and then today, I get a call say that I'm at the beginning of the service period so have to pay for another whole month of service. I did not know this and she was all to happy to say...oh well, sorry that's how it works. How is this honest? I am not using your service it should be prorated like everyone else does!! Worst place to have services. I have been waiting four days for my services to get transferred to my new home and everyday they call and say they have to push it out another day. When I call customer service to see what the problem is, they are lost and don't seem to know what is going on. I have asked for the number to the corporate office and they refuse to give it to me. When I was at my last home they never were able to get my services to work properly and always had excuses. If I could rate a zero I definitely would. They need to get people that are knowledgeable and know what they are doing, and if the subcontractors can not do their job then they need to get a company that knows how. Wonderful service in Lubbock TX. I have used them many times over the past seven years. The only reason I switched briefly was due to a new apartment complex only used AT&T. The prices are always great, I just recently had them move my service and everything went without a hitch. The only issue that I DID have was my own fault for not returning equipment, and even that was resolved quickly via the online chat service. :) Nothing but good things to say about their technicians. The one time service was shoddy at the apartment, there was a notice on the apartment website from Suddenlink letting everyone know that they were working on the system and it would be working full-speed again shortly (and it was). Be careful when dealing with Suddenlink. I got hit with over $150 in extra charges that no one could account for, but everyone knew was not mistake. When I cancelled they did not even attempt to retain me. It suggests they have grown numb to people cancelling and have no desire to try to keep them. Avoid the hassle, the lies and the headache. Trash is too kind of a word. Criminal scumbags is more like it. My apartment complex had a power outage and my 400mbps internet dropped to 0.10. They sent a technician out a few days later and he got it up to 150. That's not even close to what I'm paying for. Even though there's nothing wrong with my laptop, they put the blame on it and charged me. Then, when I complained, they sent a service tech to my apartment while I was at work without telling me. They then tried to charge me again for a visit and only removed it when I threatened to sue. Now, they've got some schlub named "Danny" calling my cell phone every single day harassing me to set up another appointment because I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I had to threaten to sue again to get them to stop that. Finally, I signed up for a $99/mo deal. My base fee is actually $105.99 and nobody there even attempts to explain why it's not $99. With all the BS fees they throw in, my supposed $99 a month is $140 in reality. These guys are bottom feeders who took advantage of a smaller town because they didn't have competition. Now that AT&T U-Verse is here, hopefully they'll run these dirtbags out of business. read more

My mother has made numerous calls to Suddenlink. The first appointment never materialized despite the operator telling my mom that the " technician came to her house and no one was home!" When my mother spoke to the operator she told her the front door was open and no one rang doorbell!! Second attempt at an appointment and technician did not appear. Mother called and operator said technician reports " he went into the attic and everything checked out." Third attempt was preempted to confirm her appointment was set for 3 days beyond her "scheduled" appointment! read more
