She's very upset for being ripped off. I tried calling the corporate office waiting for a resolution.

This turned out to be a classic switch and bait pitch. When the gentleman visited the center for the test, he was told that the low cost hearing aid wouldn't work for him, and that instead he needed a $6000 version. Please keep in mind that this gentleman lives on a fixed income. He is very hard of hearing, and had trouble hearing everything that was said to him. However, he was told that if the $6000 device didn't work, he could get his money back. Well, it didn't work. And when he tried to get his money back, they ran him around in circles. The sales manager tried to talk him out of returning it, and said his hearing would decline further if he didn't keep it. Then the manager tried to get him to buy the cheaper model that originally he was told wouldn't work for him. When the gentleman declined, the manager said that they couldn't provide him with a refund check, and that he would have to go through the corporate headquarters in Illinois, taking up to 6 weeks. Worse, he was told that the contract he signed stipulated a $600 "restocking" fee. Really?? So this very elderly man who went in for what he thought was a free hearing test ended up being pressured to buy a hearing aid that he couldn't afford, didn't work for him, and then being charged a ridiculous amount to "restock" the device when it was returned. It gets worse. When this gentleman called the business after several weeks to ask about his refund, he talked to "Celeste." She was rude, dismissive, and then hung up on him. He left repeated calls for her, but she never called him back. I then placed a call and found her to be both insensitive to this elderly gentleman's situation and very unprofessional. Subsequently, she refused to return MY calls. I finally got through and asked her to have Brad call me back. She said she would, but surprise, surprise, there was never a return call. I researched this company, and found multiple reviews from the company's former sales people who complained about the unethical marketing and sales techniques they were trained in. How do these people look at themselves in the mirror? They are downright predatory and take advantage of senior people who are vulnerable to their unscrupulous practices.
