Be very careful of out of pocket costs. I have had 2 issues with them where the co-pays were higher than my plan stated. I was also told that they do this through a third party. Why not direct to the insurance plan.? If I had not disputed these two issues, I would have paid more. Be very diligent. read more

This review is for physical therapy. This is a large facility with a wide variety of weights and other equipment for therapy. Moreover, the physical therapists are knowledgeable and great to work with. You may wonder, then, why I'm only giving this facility a two-star review. It is because they are very crowded and over schedule their patients to the point where the professional therapists have two and three patients at a time and have to utilize students to assist them. In fact, they have students completely take over some of the sessions. It's one thing to utilize students to assist the professionals; it is quite another to have them take charge of the patients. In fact, when I was being treated by a student with the professional nowhere in sight, the student had me perform an exercise that actually led to me injuring my "good" knee. I was being treated for a left knee injury (torn ACL) and now my right knee is giving me more difficulty than my left knee. The final straw came when I received a phone call from Optim the morning of one of my scheduled sessions informing me that my session would have to be cancelled because the student was out sick. Not the physical therapist, the student. It was at that point that I had my doctor reassign my sessions to a different organization. I like my doctor at Optim Orthopedics; however, I cannot in good conscience recommend the affiliated physical therapy organization. I suggest you make your own arrangements to get your P.T. somewhere else. read more

Was referred to Optim Ortho from another Optim doctor. Someone called me to set up an appointment with a particular Ortho doctor. She kept asking me the same questions over and over again and I kept telling her the same answers over and over again. I finally told her that she's asking me the same questions again and again and she denied it. As the conversation continued I was getting quite disturbed and then she told me to hold. She never came back. I called back 3 times and had to leave a voice message and have not gotten a call back. I was going to have an operation thru one of the doctors there, but decided NO WAY IN HELL.... read more

Practitioners are great, communications are not. Spent a tremendous amount of time trying to make sure that my meds were processed, due to pain. It took 2 days to get a stronger pain med. Then, for some reason, the Ortho department was unable to communicate with the PT department to make sure that my 2 issues were included in treatment. Of course, they were not. Only the one that was causing minor pain. This is why I will be using another provider and will not be returning to Optim. read more

I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to be seen all of five hurried minutes where I feel like he was half listening to me and just too hurried to be bothered by me. He gave me some half ass advice and as he's running out of the door, he tells me to wait for a call from a neurologist. When? Who? Why? I have no idea because he couldn't be bothered. I came to a "specialist" in pain hoping for some help and relief and left feeling dismissed. I learned more about about what's going on with me from google. Maybe a little more care for the patients instead of double or triple booking appointment times to maximize profits. My follow up appointment was worse. He gave me the results of the carpal tunnel test, which were negative. Apparently that was all he was willing to do for me because the verbal gems that followed were, "What do I know I'm just a surgeon." And "we all have pain we have to live with." The man spent 10 minutes tops with me between both visits, and I have never had a doctor just dismiss me and treat me as if I didn't matter. Not one X-ray or exploration of other possibilities. I'm still in pain everyday. I went to him because he's a "hand specialist." Nothing but disappointment. I would not waste my time with such an arrogant uncaring doctor. read more

Stay away from this business. Just like most local medical "groups" here in Georgia they get purchased by big medical groups or insurance companies. They control prices and provide substandard services. How does the US government allow insurance companies to own medical services companies? Easy, MONEY! I went to a Richmond Hill, GA. location to go over an MRI of my spine. Its in a small strip mall. Yes, this is what medical care has come to. An Orthopedic doctors office next door to a hair salon. The doctor came in dressed like he was a fashion model, no mask. This during the height of covid. The only people in masks were me and the two other patients in the strip mall waiting room. None of the employees wore masks. The first thing he said to me was "where are you from?' I said, here in town. he said "No where are you from?" I said I am from Michigan. I was wearing a U of M football t-shirt. He said " boy your governor is sure causing some commotion down in Florida. I asked him what he was talking about. He said to me " your governor, she's causing all kinds of commotion." WTF! I have lived in Georgia for ten years. I guess I'm still not local. Well were not going to do surgery yet, we will start with steroid injections into the spine between the discs." I said can we go over the test results first. He said " I already did". They are right here." There were three little scribbles on the paperwork in his hand. I asked to look at the report. He said "I already did, there on the computer." I said I would like a second opinion. He said "fine, If you think you need to". Then he just shut down. Yes, I did. No injections needed, no surgery needed. Stretching, and more exercise did the trick. Sadly this is becoming a HUGE problem in medicine. Lets do invasive procedures before we try anything holistic. Lesson learned, take control of your own medical treatment. Medicine is the third largest business in the USA. Otherwise you will be in the economic medical blender called "referrals." Take care of your body and it will try to take care of you. read more

Power tripping office staff (physical therapy side), will not be returning. I was reluctant to make my next appointment because my vehicle was in the shop, I got pushed to make the appointment saying it's ok if I cancel last minute. I was not sure if I would be getting my vehicle back before Monday. First thing Monday morning I called to inform I didn't get my vehicle back over the weekend and needed to cancel. Got slapped with a no show fee, even after she validated the conversation with the therapist. Not cool, especially when I called this out in advance and they told me it would be fine. read more

Y'all, do not go here. Just because you're referred to someone, doesn't mean that's the place you have to go. There are plenty of orthopedic specialists in the area, even if you're working with insurance. I broke my foot and was referred here from Memorial ER for a cast. First of all, it took a FULL WEEK to even get an appointment here. So a full week with a broken foot with no cast. Checking in was unorganized (no fault of the front desk) but I was checked in before finishing my check in paperwork. Nurses were impatient and seemed annoyed that I didn't finish the pages of check in information they needed within 2 minutes of my arrival . I was even early to the appointment as requested. (Hey at least you hardly have to wait to be seen lol) Saw Dr. Shelley for a good 30 seconds before I was put in an ill fitting $300 boot. I told them it was ill fitting to which they responded that it gets some getting use to. (No returns or exchanges) THANK GOD my insurance decided to switch providers 2 weeks later (now) because I went for my check up with the new doctor who IMMEDIATELY put me in a cast and said that should have happened 3 weeks ago when the break first occurred. Might I suggest to anyone that's looking, to go to the orthopedic doctors at Memorial. They are also covered by all major insurance companies. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Jaakkola and his staff Bill and Brandon. My pain was severe in my ankle to the point that I was unable to walk. I was very scared to have surgery so Dr. Jaakkola tried every option possible to find relief to my problem. Surgery was inevitable but Dr. Jaakkola assured me I was in good hands. Surgeries were performed at the Optim Surgery Center in March/April. Both experiences at Optim Surgical Center were great. Their staff was professional and treated me with kindness. Before surgery, the anesthesiologists met with me to explain the procedures before inserting a nerve block. These were all new things to me and their attention definitely eased my anxiety. Dr. Jaakkola went over all the surgical information and what I should expect when I got home. He took the time to explain everything to my mom, who accompanied me to the surgical center. I had a reaction to the medication the day after the surgery and the on-call doctor called me within 10 minutes of me calling the emergency line. I was relieved to hear from someone so quickly at 2am. Before and after surgery, I had physical therapy at Optim in Pooler. All the PT personnel have taken great care of me to get me back to walking without pain. The PT team have great attitudes and genuinely care about their patients. I appreciate how they are concerned and push me a little past my comfort zone to strengthen my ankle. Big shout out to Dorey, Megan, Stephen and all the assistants. I am grateful to Optim and their staff of professionals who got me back to the old but better me! read more

My wife needed to go for carpal tunnel surgery. Based on her outcome of getting full use of her hand again with little or no pain nor scarring, I would have rated them 5 stars. I reserve a star for the waiting period and pricing. They seem to like to make deals prior to the surgery and in our case offered a 20% discount on the estimate out of pocket expense if we paid up front. We did, but it didn't include everything such as the doctor's review and PT. What I learned is they charged us more than our out of pocket maximum which I'm hoping will lead to a refund once the insurance payments catch up. The other issue was the cancellation on the day of the surgery due to a Dr. emergency (that's excusable). That was OK. When we finally went for the surgery, we were there for about 2-3 hours. The surgery itself took about 10 minutes. The nurses and staff were extremely apologetic for the delays and very nice throughout the process. I would consider the entire event as successful. read more

Strongly recommend avoiding dr Alexander is rude, and arrogant. He promised me great results and a full recovery in three weeks. In three months he told me there is nothing wrong with the knee he worked on and Optim kicked me out and banned me. In 10 months I now have grade 2 Osteoarthritis, joint space narrowing, fibrosis, bakers cyst, 24 hour a day pain, I AM MISERABLE, and you will be too if you go to this place. I am on a fast pace to a total knee replacement because Alexander. My current doctor told me Alexander could have repaired my tear instead of removing the cartilage. Thanks Dr Alexander I hope you feel Miserable for lying to me and ruining my life. read more

My experience with optim orthopedics/ surgery/ Dr. Palmer. Last year I made an appointment at optim surgery to have a knee checked out that had been bothering me for some time. The doctor I met with assured me that he would help get my knee better. He had my knee x-rayed and said that I may need a whole knee replacement due to arthritis damage. So that doesn't sound like fun, but whatever it takes to get this knee better. Next I went for an MRI and when I met with him to go over the results, he said I only needed a partial knee replacement, less invasive and a quicker recovery, so that's great, sign me up. Then I had a pre-op appointment and he said that he changed his mind and only wants to go in and clean up my knee. That doesn't make sense to me but he says he thinks he can make it better. I figured he is the expert and I decided to trust him. After surgery he tells me that my knee was much worse than he thought. Well the x-ray and MRI both said that it was bad, I have no idea why he thought he could clean that up. I now have to wear 2 knee braces on one knee just to get around and every step is painful. After healing up my knee was worse than it was before surgery and I'm told that I will need a replacement soon. I decided I'm not doing anything until I pay off the near $7000 in co-pays that I have from this botched surgery. After paying off over half this amount in 7 months I get a call from a collection company that says they now have my debt. I had just made a payment a couple of weeks earlier ($300) and knew this couldn't be possible. When I called optim about this the girl says " someone made a mistake, but we can't do anything about it now". If optim messes up your billing I promise you will not find anyone there to help you. I went to optim for help. They promised me help, they took my money, they made my knee worse than it was, but that wasn't good enough for them, now they have to ruin my credit score as well. This 1 star review is towards a specific individual and that would be Dr. (if you can even call him that) Sammy S Sanders. I am upset because I got treated like garbage when I was up there earlier today. I had an appt this morning, showed up, and after getting an X-Ray done, the PA comes in. I have never seen this man nor met him in my entire life. The first words out of this man's mouth are, "why do you have Medicare at 36?! What is so wrong with you that you would need Medicare?" I was astounded, it totally caught me off guard. So I told him, "I am 100% Permanent & Total Disabled Veteran and I was medically retired out of the Army in 2013." He then says, "that doesn't answer my question, what does having Medicare have to do with that?" I am looking at him like he is the biggest moron in the world. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that if one government agency finds you to be 100% disabled it holds a lot of weight with another one finding you disabled. So I started going into my injuries while I was in hoping that would make more sense to him. Told him about my Lateral Meniscus Tear that I had in my left knee in 2012 and how I had to have surgery on it at Winn Army Hospital when I was in the Army. He looks at me all smug and says, "a Lateral Meniscus Tear? That is nothing, they did a scope on my knee and I was up and back to work within a week! That wouldn't cause you to be disabled nor would it cause any of the other issues you claim to have." So I now am getting extremely angry because I am basically being accused of faking my injuries to sponge off the government. He my as well have said, "you are a filthy low-life deadbeat who is nothing but a welfare king and has an entitlement mindset, how dare you have Medicare at age 36, that is totally unheard of." Maybe he didn't say it like that, but the implication is there. So then he wants to go on about medications, he doesn't have any of my records, totally unprepared, saying something about they are over on some other part of the system. Ok, I get it, technology can be difficult, but he had nothing on me except for a piece of paper that said I was a 36 year old with Medicare and as Tricare Prime as my secondary (because I am medically retired, I keep my Tricare benefits for the rest of my life). He sees I am on Norco for Chronic Pain. He then says, "why are you on Norco?" I tell him, "because I am in severe chronic pain and I need it at least once per week to function." So then he says, "well if that is what your doctor and you have arranged, that is perfectly fine (yeah it is, you have no say in it!) but I would never prescribe Opioids to any of my patients." Going on about how it is dangerous. All medications are dangerous and have side effects. If you are not abusing it and you take it as prescribed (I make a 1 month supply last on average of 3 months) it is fine. It is not my fault you got people overdosing on it. So what I am going to say is this. I don't know about the other doctors, it is not my place to rate them, it is not my place to say anything negative nor positive, this is aimed directly at Sanders. If this is how one of your doctors are going to treat 100% P&T military veterans who swore an oath to protect idiots like you, than I don't want to have anything to do with Optim. This is uncalled for, it was unnecessary, and it was unprofessional. I have been treated by some of the most abrasive and rude doctors when I was in the Army and none of them were that much of an a**hole. You want to get hung up on Medicare huh? Many people have Medicare that are far younger than me and don't have nearly as much wrong with them. The reason I am complaining is because I don't want this man to ever be able to treat another Veteran let alone regular patient when he thinks so lowly of any of us who may have to be on some sort of government/social program. I was going to let it go, but I just can't. I am going to report this awful experience everywhere and hopefully he is fully reprimanded. read more

Without going into alot of detail, a month or so back I had a UTI. My primary care prescribed a medication that I discovered I was highly allergic too. My right hand already had carpel tunnel but overnight I went from ok to extreme pain. I read that the allergic reaction could cause permanent nerve damage. I decided to make an appt with DR Kolovich. Specifically asking for him as he performed carpel tunnel surgery on my left hand. Well the Dr's PA showed up at the appt, not him. I was never told that the Dr could not make my appt. I was extremely upset but decided to see his PA as I was in a lot of pain. After the appt and still being quite upset I wrote a review. Mistakenly I called his PA and intern and I said is the dr out playing golf. I was upset to say the least. I since retracted the playing golf comment and changed the word on my review from intern to pA. While I have no doubt that kolovich is a good DR ., I had another appt with the PA. This time kolovich showed up. He berated me for at least a couple of minutes. Said I lied about an intern seeing me when it really was the PA. I told him I didn't lie, just used the wrong term. He told me I lied at least 3 or 4 times. I was extremely upset with his tone and asked him at least twice if we could move on. As he was leaving the office he said, take the review down or find another DR. I realize DRs can pick and choose their patients and that's fine. I have never in my life been berated by a professional and yes I have found another DR. read more

So . . .three visits later, and a referral for an MRI . . .and apart from 2 shots in my wrist (3000.00) dollars later, nothing is changing. What scares me about this facility and the staff, is the fact I've call several times in reference to my wrist being swollen and is resulting in my proficiency at work to suffer drastically, little concern, nor medications that seem to actually work have been administered. But above all this . . . The facility actually gave me a prescription, that could have resulted in a fatal outcome had I not did research before taking it. I've suffered from high blood pressure and nose bleeds most of my life and indicated this upon checking Lucky for me the pharmacist was thorough in checking my history and advised me not to take the medication. When I called Optim, I had to leave messages twice and over 24 hours later I got a response . . ."We advise you not to take that medication, it is the wrong type" I'm a little confused why a Doctor would not read my admittance paper work before prescribing me a medication, that ultimately could cause me severe to fatal reactions. Even more confused why the facility would not take this serious and call me back ASAP. Just be cautious if considering this facility, and please read your paper work closely . . .especially your prescriptions. Because if you have any issues, the response time is terrible. I've even left the Operations Manager a voicemail . . .no reply. So, again be extremely cautious when considering this facility for services. read more

I checked in for my appointment 15 minutes early so I would have time to fill out any paperwork required. I then waited 20 minutes after my appointment to be called into the back to be seen. I waited in the room for 1 hour and 10 minutes without one person coming into the room. I exited the room and went to the checkout to ask for my money to be refunded ( I have no health insurance and this initial visit was $ 350 up front ) only to be asked to give then a minute to find out something. I returned to the room to finally be seen by a PA after another 5 minutes. I never saw a doctor. ( I guess the $ 350 is not enough to have a doctor talk to you ) . I called today and asked for the office manager only to be told that they are trying to hire one and that someone would call me back . We'll SEE. I would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

My mom is 86 yrs old and my sister took her last week to see one of the drs about her knee. My mom was seen by this Dr Christy. This snot-nose arrogant excuse for a dr was so rude and unprofessional I could not believe the things he said to my sweet loving mom. He called her old said there was nothing he could do about her knee and he didn't even know why she came in. Omg writing this infuriates me all over again! He talked to her with such rudeness it was unbelievable! I would never use that place again even if they were the last doctors on this earth!! They are horrible!! I am filing a complaint with the medical board on the treatment my mom experienced at this horrible place by incompetent so called doctor!!! read more

Excellent Surgeon, but profiles patients and uses assumptions without clarifying the facts. Even though Dr. Woo is a fantastic surgeon, he falsely profiles patients. I have a long documented history of quickly metabolizing both local and general anesthesia. This causes me to wake up during surgery and was noted on my records prior to surgery. When I woke up during my knee replacement surgery, Dr. Woo accused me of being a narcotics abuser and put it in my medical records. A simple drug test would have disproved his accusations, which he failed to request or to do. After total knee replacement surgery, I was denied pain meds and given Tylenol and Mobic. The hospital orthopedist and my insurance company had to step in for me to receive pain medication while recovering from surgery and for physical therapy. It was one of the most traumatizing events that I have ever gone through. Now, because of his false accusations and false documentation, I have problems getting medical care. I could not even handle finishing my surgical follow-ups because of the emotional distress. My trust for physicians is now gone. As for my knee, he did an amazing job. He is a fantastic surgeon, but a very poor judge of character and a patient profiler. Please take great caution when under his care. He has traumatized me forever and has left a drug abuse history on my permanent medical records. Now, doctor's refuse to provide me much needed health care, even some of my long term providers. Before putting any patient through such pain, suffering, and mental trauma because you THINK you know something, take the time to read their history that you required prior to surgery and do a drug test. Maybe then, no one else will suffer as I did because of an assumption that was not true. read more

It is unfortunate I must be so direct but the only constant with this organization is disappointment. I can identify at least 5 encounters where I waited 1.5 hours past my scheduled appointment time. The misinformation and disorganization is not only evident but obvious negatively affecting patients. Dr. McCartney and his PA were excellent; however scheduled appointment times mean nothing across multiple (at least 3) providers. On this date the Optim rep suggested I be seen during urgent care hours, I immediately left work arriving at 3:40 only to be told they were closed till 5. Optim, your misleading website identifies urgent care 830-9pm. In sum, I've seen enough. Many providers are exceptional and it's too bad their efforts are marred by ridiculous mismanagement and support staff who need extensive customer service training. read more

I have had terrible problems with my knee. I've been unable to walk and work so I was referred here by the urgent care. The front desk personnel were amazing and I didnt have to wait long at all but DR MARK KAMALESON was SO RUDE. He didnt even LOOK at my knee before asking what I thought my weight should be for someone my height. He was so focused on weight that he only even touched my knee once, just to roughly jig it around and leave me hurting more. He was the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I've ever met in my life- I couldnt get a word in edge wise and everything came back to my weight no matter what was said. He was terrible and made my entire experience terrible. I would NEVER recommend the pooler location to anyone just because he as absolutely no people skills. read more

The staff acts like you are paranoid when you ask for some and one smart ass said she could spray my hands with cleaning fluid if I really wanted it. I had Covid19. I was sick for a week and it took me 3 more weeks to get back to normal. I still get breathless with much exertion. I cannot believe a doctors office is so flippant with this virus and doesn't provide the basics of hand sanitizer. read more

The wait is ridiculous! The check in staff aren't mean but they sure do a great job of ignoring you and the appointment was booked incorrectly. They told me "Next time, get a scheduler's name". Who the heck does that? Next visit, time with the PA was great and he told me, yes, your neck is messed up. Time in the waiting room was still long, but not ridiculously long. Third visit was with the doctor and they want yet another payment when the PA visit was last week! Yowza! What is up with this place? All in all, I liked the doctor and his assistants as well as the PA. very straight forward and I didn't have to have yet another MRI as the scan was sufficient. read more

Part time-local doc so if u have an emergency, u must go to hospital. Because NO One at Optum will service u, if ur under another docs care. I arrived for a right middle finger surgery 19 NOV 2019 with Dr KOLAVICH. The nurse instructed me to remove everything but my underwear and left the little curtain area. Not 1 minute later a male anesthesiologist opens the curtain with, with God knows who walking around the open area behind him, while I'm standing 95% naked. That was the first issue. This wasn't a private area or room and he didn't ask,"are you covered?" or "may I enter?" and I don't know who saw me that was walking by (patients and their respective families are all back there). Then, he later begins to describe the anesthesia, which was NOT ALL what I agreed to because I have an anxiety disorder and I was supposed to be completely under. This of course gives me a panic attack. They finally agree to the general anesthesia which was initially agreed by me. Then the doctor comes in and marks my finger but does not stop to even explain the procedure. Next, they told my friend that the procedure would take about an hour and they handed her a piece of paper which is supposed to coordinate with a TV screen to display my surgery progress. That did not even work. Then they put me under and NEVER ADMINISTERED A NERVE BLOCK when they were working directly with my nerves and making holes to put some sort of hardware connecting my bones together so they would eventually fuse together. They also took one of my nerves that was causing pain and buried three nerve ending. I was 100% expecting the nerve block agent as this is crucial to pain management and it is simply CRUEL to not administer it. Earlier they told me they absolutely WERE ADMINISTERING it. Why on Earth they failed to do this rudimentary step is beyond me. I wake up in the worst possible pain of my life, only to find THEY NEVER ADMINISTERED THE NERVE BLOCK. No one ever informed me what was done, or what kind of hardware they used, AND the paperwork they provided was utterly useless. Then, they couldn't find my things, and I left there in tears because the pain was so immense, I was actually nauseous. They gave me a prescription for hydrocodone. I got home and crying never ceased. I couldn't even fall asleep the pain was entirely debilitating. I called today to tell them that the pain was so unbearable and they told me to take 2 hydrocodone with Ibuprofen (I've been taking 1600mgs of Ibuprofen with the hydrocodone and it hasn't touched the pain). I'm still crying at this point. They told me to call back if the pain persisted. When I called back the next day, they told me the Dr KOLAVICH said there was nothing more they could do for me, but to go to the ER if the pain persisted. SO I DID. I went to the ER at Optim and they said they spoke to KOLAVICH and he said not to give me anything more for pain, because that's all they give! I'm still crying.. I'm so disgusted with them, this has been an absolute disaster and nightmare. I would only recommend to my worst enemy... actually I don't hate anyone that much. I cannot wait for my patient survey to hopefully inform potential patients so they can make an informed decision! This entire experience has been incredulous. I have my first follow up appointment tomorrow and am wondering how they plan on coming near my hand to remove this bandage when even the wind makes it throb to the point of tears. I am unbelievably unimpressed with the lack of professionalism at this doctor's office. 1. I specifically enrolled in a certain level of Blue Cross Blue Shield as per Optim's suggestion - so that I could pursue the elbow surgery I was recommended to have. After THREE appointments over a 6 month period no one in their office ever told me that my insurance was not accepted by Optim. They continued to book my appointments and took my insurance card as if it was all covered. Lo and behold I now have three visits that were not covered at all and cited as "insurance plan not accepted by Optim". 2. One of those above appointments wasn't even necessary as the doctor couldn't even locate the bone issue on the MRI (that I waited over a month for approval on as per Optim!). 3. I had to beg for a call back and for them to even make follow up appointments based on my incredibly busy work travel schedule. On a few occasions I had to press every number I could to speak to anyone in their office and beg for someone to make an appointment for me with an actual physician. 4. Optim, if you're listening and want to solve any of this please reach out!!! We also have a med mal atty who does consulting with docs on how to improve outcomes with disgruntled patients. 5. Now my mother is having her third, fourth, or fifth round of issues with this same office. Their inability to follow up and diagnose her problem - and treat and prevent it from getting worse - is disgusting. They have placed this office at the back gate of Sun City and it feels like they prey on the residents here who can drive their golf carts to an appointment. It would be nice if Optim offered a decent level of attention and professionalism to these thousands of aging residents, like my parents and possibly yours. 6. I never ever leave negative reviews. But if I can help Optim improve their office and serve their patients better then I will. The office staff is more interested in what they're ordering for lunch than being efficient or even letting patients know they don't even accept their insurance. The office staff does not call people back. It's a good thing they're not running a cardiology office. And last but not least, this is a satellite office and since none of the doctors are there regularly - I don't think (maybe I hope they don't) they have a clue how poorly their office is being run. Or maybe they do. Because the surgeon I finally saw was only interested in telling me, in about 90 seconds, that he needed to do exploratory surgery and "please stay here I'll send in the scheduler". Um, no thanks. I truly hope this helps Optim take a look at how their office is running - because the bottom line is you're in the business of health CARE. read more

This was absolutely the worst experience i have ever had with a dr. Dr Kolovich performed a distal bicep tendon reattachment. (No pee opt MRI) All was good until I could actually move and use my arm post op. I saw PA's the first couple of follow up appointments. When it finally was able to start PT I could tell not only something wasn't feeling right with my arm I also had a significant deformity in the arm.( Noted by second opinion) I wanted to see Dr Kolovich to explain. I was told "1) muscle atrophy 2) a year or better to build muscle back 3) still don't need mri 4) I was being unreasonable". Really?!?! After speaking with Michael Butler (CEO Optim) I was back to see Dr Kolovich to be berated further. "1) I'm not a plastic surgeon 2) I was hired to fix a tendon 3) I did my job. 4) it is what it is". I was dumbfounded!!! I have never been spoken to in this way by a Dr before. Finally I left Savannah for a third opinion. SUGICAL FAILURE. The notes read " likely early surgical failure" that when speaking to Dr Kolovich refused to even do an mri to investigate. This was a year ago.before the surgery is was curling 45-50lb dumbbells now I can curl 15 if I want to feel severe tendonitis and barely be able to move my arm for 4 days afterwards. I would never recommend Dr Kolovich for any procedure!!! read more

I went there a few weeks ago and the doctor was real condescending, he kept interrupting me to tell me about possibilities they had for milking my insurance, was the vibe I got. Dr. Alexander and his rude, young assistant lack a bedside manner and I would not want my friends or family to have to deal with them. I certainly won't be going back. What a waste of my time and what would have been a nice day. read more

Dr Hope did both my knee replacements, 7 months apart. Excellent results and very satisfied. His whole team is great and professional the PA's, Nurses, Office help and they do return phone calls. Would highly recommend Dr Hope for knee replacement surgery to anyone who needs this procedure. read more

I came to Optim to start my physical therapy after getting surgery with Resurgen Orhopedics in Atlanta. Optim didn't have a problem with my nurse at Resurgen faxing the PT orders per the doctor. The facility looks very clean and well maintained. The only thing I wished was quicker was the wait, but I understand that there is typically always a wait at many medical practice. My physical therapists were nice and accommodating and I will be finishing out the first half of my PT here. read more

I received service for an issue on 4/28 and 5/5 of this year. Optim has inaccurately billed me since this time monthly. They have not had appropriate billing staff and as a customer, I have paid the price for this. For both of these appointments I was in the office, I didn't actually even see a doctor - but rather a physicians assistant, for a total of 10 minutes. I have spent more time trying to get the billing issue addressed corrected; 28 hours to be specific. Most recently my insurance company has had to threaten them to get them to stop billing me for inaccurate charges. I would NEVER return to this establishment for any health care services - Period. I have kept a journal of dates, contacts etc of the time I have spent on this and I will be happy to share with any concerned party. Please just respond with your request. "IF" as stated in the Optim's reply comment below they took my healthcare seriously, they would NOT have let it get to this point. I had a referral here October 2019 for knee pain and they "denied my referral". I had broken my femur and had it repaired at the hospital here in Savannah December 2018. I ended up getting a referral to Chatman orthopedics and they diagnosed me with having a tear meniscus (probably from when I broke my femur). If they hadn't "denied my referral" AND ACTUALLY MET WITH ME maybe they could have helped with my everyday knee pain. Instead I had to wait and see a different dr 4 months later (by the time I had a new referral done and I could make an appointment) read more

Wait time is horrible my appointment was for 2 pm it now almost 2 hours later and I'm still sitting in the waiting room in horrible pain!!!

I would give them 1 star, however the staff at the front was very helpful, and did not have a long wait like the other reviewers. HOWEVER, th Dr., Dr. Wilson Jr. had red flags as soon as he walked in the door. He sat Back in his chair and acted as if I was taking his precious time and I was bothering him. (This appt. Was made weeks in advance) After telling him I was in pain he pulled and pushed on my shoulder, and after had little sympathy that he was further hurting me, and just stood back and said you are fine. I don't know about the other docs...but I would not recommend him. Without going into my medical details, I saw another doc not at optim, which listened to me and ran additional test and found what was wrong. So unless you can obviously see what is wrong don't waste your time or money. read more
