My first "personal" experience with Optim was when I was injured at my job. For anyone who has had the misfortune of dealing with the WC system, you know what I mean when I tell you it's a demeaning experience. You are almost made to feel like a criminal because you had the audacity to get hurt on the job. Anyway, after a horrible experience with SJC's Urgent Care facility on Eisenhower Drive, I called Risk Management and practically begged to be referred elsewhere. Long-story-short, I was fortunate enough to be reassigned to someone whom I hoped practiced medicine in harmony with the Hippocratic Oath they took, and not because they were kicked out of bitch school. Anyway, I digress. My time with Optim under WC was an overall positive experience. My physician was Dr. Kamalesson who, by the way, is a hoot. He's got a great bedside manner - I got the feeling that he really listened to me, and he's very engaging. I didn't like that he made a joke about me liking fried chicken (a total assumption, as I guess all overweight people scarf down fried chicken...???). The medication he prescribed was useless, but I will give him points for referring me to six weeks of therapy which helped a lot, by the way. Optim's physical therapy staff is top notch, once you get beyond the front desk chicks. Long-story-short, the WC muck-a-mucks decided that I was not worth another six weeks of PT, so I was unceremoniously dropped on my literal, degraded hip-joint a$$. Fast forward to about three weeks ago, when I called for a referral to Optim to see the most-awesome Dr. Hope. I gained a great first-impression from Dr. Hope when he operated on my Dad twice. You know it says volumes about a person's professional demeanor when someone seeks him out to be their doctor based on someone else's experience. So far, I feel extremely blessed to have Dr. Hope as my orthopedic doctor. Like Dr. K, he is very engaging, and he listens. Unlike Dr. K, he didn't make rude jokes about my weight, but commended me on my efforts so far, and was very encouraging overall. And, unlike Dr. K, Dr. Hope actually prescribed medications that WORK (this is where you hear angels burst forth with songs from heaven)!!! For the first time in a very long time, I have REAL relief from constant sharp, throbbing, pain that has plagued me day and night for a few years now, and made my life miserable, and me a tired, sleep-deprived, attitudinal troll. Seriously. Not picking on Dr. K, but I just have to wonder why he could not give me the same medication? Maybe it's a part of the wicked Worker's Comp agenda to make us suffer! My parents have used Optim on three occasions. Despite three different doctors each made them wait as much as 2 hours for a previously booked appointment. They may be talented, but their disregard for people who are suffering pain is inconsiderate. If a doctor or any other practitioner is running late, it is their job to let the customer know it. I had my first (and LAST) appointment with Optim Orthopedics on 12/19/19 at 3:00 pm. I arrived 20 minutes early as instructed and was given forms to fill out, which I did. I was told by the very nice woman at the front desk to have a seat and i would be called. At 3:30 I still had not been called when I noticed an electronic sign saying "if you have been waiting for 30 minutes or more past your appointment time please inform the front desk". So I did. I was told that the staff in the back did not have a room available but as soon as they did I would be called. I sat back down and waited some more. At 4:05 I had had enough, and decided to leave ( without seeing a nurse, doctor, or any other medical professional). As I was walking out the door I hear my name being called so I go back in and tell the person calling my name that I am leaving. She asked why, and I told her that I had been in their office for 1 hour and 25 minutes and I am just now being called in to the back. Her response:" Well I'm just helping out, don't be mad at me." I turned around and left the building. Medical professionals time is valuable, I get that. My time is valuable as well, they should get that as well, but obviously, THEY DON'T GET IT!!! read more

waited TWO hours past my appointment time. Front desk not helpful and less than compassionate. Didn't care at all. Patients need to be called if the office knows the doctor is running this far behind. When I checked in the front desk said it would just be a few minutes. Only after waiting for the first HOUR after I walked up did someone tell me the doctor was running behind. This is absolutely unacceptable. read more

I have had several experiences with this group, and each one has been great. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I've never had a long wait past my appointment time. I think the longest wait was 10-15 minutes, which is better than average for most healthcare appointments. I have seen multiple providers; Dr. Alexander for my knees, Dr. McCormick for a lower back issue, and several PA's, including those staffing their Urgent Care. In each case I have been treated respectfully and have had precise, well-explained diagnoses and treatments. I'm just coming off a knee surgery done by Dr. Alexander; he and his staff have been very accommodating and responsive. I will continue seeing this team for my ongoing issues - they have more than met my expectations every time. read more

Dr. Pandya is not an honest Dr. I have the proof because I was smart enough to copy my records immediately and then when I later went back in he had altered my records, inserted information that was not there, bingo I got him., which has been sent to the proper authorities, upon me leaving his practice after he tried to force me to get a spinal stimulator,and when I refused, he put in my records I needed mental health and was not a candidate to have one and he could no longer have me at his practice.He also did not take into consideration the financial hardship it would of put on me. I also expressed I did not want a foreign object in my body and the scarring it would cause for me to do so. He gave me multiple injections in my lower back that caused a big indentation and ate the tissue from the steroids, which was brought to his attention and never did anything about, he performed an epidural that sent me to the ER 5 times in a 3 mo. period for severe headaches from the cerebral fluid and caused me to have a Tarlov cyst which is something I don't wish on anyone. I am retired former law enforcement officer and feel it is my duty to forewarn you of the negligence in care you may endure under his care. I have been seeing Dr. Kamaleson for a minor hand injury. Twice I have waited an extremely long time due to the office or him being behind. I was deceived into buying a brace that I could've had overnighted and charged literally 11 times the actual cost of the brace. When our daughter tore her ACL and meniscus, and sprained her MCL in a basketball game, we came to Optim Orthopedics and our experience has been beyond superlative. Every employee -- from check-in to the nurses, and the financial counselor to the doctors -- acted like we were the only people in the world when they were speaking with us. It was refreshing to go to a specialist's office and not be kept waiting for or to feel rushed during our appointments. Dr. Wilson spent a great deal of one-on-one time with us in the preliminary appointment. He talked to our daughter about the logistics of her daily life and what she wants to do athletically for the rest of her high school career and beyond. He laid out all the options and really educated us on the pros and cons of each. He talked to us from a parent's perspective, as well as a physician's perspective, which made us confident that he really understood our concerns. This was a big decision for us and we wanted to make the best choice for our daughter. Dr. Wilson made sure we felt knowledgeable and comfortable. On the day of the procedure, each nurse and doctor that we encountered was welcoming and made a genuine effort to connect with us on a personal level. We can't say enough about Dr. Wilson, Dr. Fuqua, Julianna, Jane, Beth, Ellen, and all the other Optim care professionals who provided our daughter -- and us -- with the utmost comfort, patience, respect and care. read more

MRI equipment think came over on the mayflower. Headphones playing music couldn't even dampen the sound. Had one two years ago up north, not a sound. Scheduled follow up at Richmond Hill location. I just want everyone out there to know what an amazing doctor Jonathan Christy is. I had been to several other doctors in town who let giving me the run around about what was wrong with my hip. I finally got in with Dr Christy and he looked at the x-rays and took a couple of his own and it came down to my hip needed to be replaced. He didn't push me just said I would know when I was ready. Well I finally got the surgery and wow. 100 percent better. He is a doctor who listens and actually cares about his patients and it shows in the way he treats you. The wait time is horrible. Did everything I was told to do. Filled out the info on the computer. Showed up 15 minutes early. Gave them my cards for insurance. But told them if I had to wait more than 30 minutes past my appointment time, I would leave and find another place for my shoulder issue. Sure enough 30 minutes went by and no one contacted me. I went to the front desk and told them I was leaving. Also said I used to be one of the most sought after energy company lawyers in DC and if I did this with my clients (made them wait so long) I would be living in a cardboard box below an underpass instead of my nice home. Said the Cleveland clinic, Mayo and Bethesda hospital manage to make and keep their appointments on time. Why cannot a small city, second rate clinic like this do the same? I left. This is the worst run medical practice I have ever encountered. My wife has a bulging disk and the doctor who saw her was supposed to set her up for a MRI, and his staff forgot. Now that doctor is out touring south Georgia, and can't see her. The people absolutely refuse to answer a phone, and no one will except responsibility. If I were dead, I'd refuse to go there. read more

When I first met Dr. Jaakola back in December I was extremely happy with his bedside manner. He was compassionate and a good listener. I got xrays and he prescribed Meloxicam and a topical cream for pain in my foot (which he attributed to be arthritis). He said if it didn't feel better in a month that I should come back and look at the next steps. A month later I was still suffering with foot pain and made an appointment to go back. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Dr. Jaakola but I saw his PA. The PA told me I should just get my family physician to help me with the pain and said it was jus something I'd have to live with. He made me feel like I was an idiot for wasting his time. In April I was still in pain and went to get a second opinion. The MRI showed something but not enough, so a CT scan was ordered. Now I know I've been walking around with a fractured bone in my foot since at least December. There is also a potential issue with blood flow to that bone. I now get to spend the summer months in a cast/boot with both toddlers out of daycare due to covid 19. Dr. Jaakola, I hope that you don't let this happen to other patients... and I highly recommend you find a new PA. read more

In excruciating pain, at a cost of $350 plus.Moreless to say if you don't have the top of the line insurance you better make other plans of recovering from your injuries. On July 17th, at the Savannah location, Optima's front office staff was amazing in getting my insurance situation cleared unfortunately due to the type of insurance plan that have. I reluctantly paid for my visit $350.00 out of pocket up front. I was escorted down a long hallway struggling to walk and finally entered an examination room. Dr. Alexander entered the room with such lack of professionalism and begins telling me about the insurance and the cost and that someone will walk me back up to the front to explain to me again about my insurance. In less than 3 min Dr. Alexander shifted me off so quickly I felt horrible. Just that fast $350.00 gone not a single recommendation are anything. I was shoved aside like garbage this was the worst experience of my life. After I got home I filled out an online survey and expressed my personal disappointment but have yet to receive a response. Dr. Alexander office has now billed me for a 45min. for an office visit and requesting an additional $77.00, I am out raged about fees. I don't understand why am I being charged any other supplementary charges.This is highway robbery at its best. read more

Dr. Alexander and his assistant? You will *absolutely* want to stay away from them. These two young roosters are so arrogant that they can make the most confident patient feel bad. Just entering the enormous Optim Orthopedics building's waiting room gives away that they pull in a lot of money from insurance companies. THAT is usually not a good sign: 5 receptionists lined up as if we're at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Vegas, and a separate one to write out the name tags at a different counter. They have a shelf of 30-40 industrial-strength iPads/tablets they use for the patients to answer 5 questions. Short play-by-play of my visit after I'd waited 45 minutes past my appointment time--with no explanation or apology: "Mrs. Dalke? This way." A short, all-business 25-year-old man shows me into a room. "You can sit there." I sit down. "What are we seeing you for today?" "My arms..." I had to fill out an extensive survey online before I came in, and I filled out more on their iPad, so I'm a little surprised that he doesn't know. Is he the doctor? A nurse? "Okay, what exactly is wrong? Which arm and what part?" "Both arms." I point up and down them. "It hurts everywhere, and I was referred here for a--" "No, your insurance will only pay for one at at time. Is it the left or the right arm? Shoulder? Or neck? Which one hurts most." He has his arms crossed, waiting impatiently for my answer. "I was referred here by my general practitioner," I say. "I have tendinitis, carpal tunnel, and golfer's elbows. I'm a writer, so--" "Wait." The man smirks haughtily (Doctor? Nurse? I don't know yet. He hasn't introduced himself, and his name tag has the backside showing.) "Before we get to any diagnosis, here, lets get the facts, shall we?" At this point, I feel odd. My arms have hurt like crazy for several years. They're hurting now too. My GP has already diagnosed me, and I feel confident that her diagnosis is right. It is why I'm here in the first place. So I say, "Look, your making me feel uncomfortable. I can't tell you why my arms hurt or where to start working on my issues... Who are you?" He looks down at his name tag, sees that it's not turning the right way, and does nothing about it. Then, he says, "I'm Dr. Alexander's medical assistant. I'm going to take down the facts, I will give him my findings, and then he will come in and see you. Your insurance will only pay for one Xray for each visit. So which is it. Does the left or right arm hurt most?" When Dr. Alexander comes in the door, he's a few years older than the assistant. He shakes my hand quickly, drops it, and starts repeating everything his assistant has said in a very loud, condescending voice. Then, he asks, "So: do you want Xrays of your neck, shoulder, or arms?" "I don't know! I'm not the expert." He asks me a few questions. Moves my arms a little. Never asks me to take my jacket off so he can touch any pressure points to see if he can recreate the pain of tendinitis, carpal tunnel, and golfer's elbow, the way my GP did. I tell him I write 12 hours a day and that my GP has diagnosed me. His answer? "Well that's a general practitioner. I'm the specialist." Dr. Alexander decides to take Xrays of my shoulders and my neck. (surprise: he takes his chances on Xrays of 2 of the 3 possible locations. Not selecting my actual arms, which are the ones that hurt.) His assistant drops me off in the Xray area. Once he leaves, the lady there asks what I'm getting Xrayed, which means no communication between the parties. I'm glad she, at least, is nice. I'm dropped back off in the examination room. After a while (thankfully, I have my phone to entertain myself), Dr. Alexander returns with his loud voice. He tells me my shoulders look normal, but I do have early stage arthritis in my neck. "Arthritis?" I ask, surprised. I've never heard of this before. "Mm-hmm." He regards me with a blank, uncaring expression. "But there's no way to tell if the pain in your arms comes from a herniated disc without MRI. So I'll have to order you an MRI. You're leaving the country, you said, so you won't have time to get one before you leave. We'd have to set up several appointments to get to the bottom of your problem." Needless to say, I left Optim Orthopedics without the help I needed. Sure, I guess I have a little arthritis in my neck. I'll be keeping an eye out for that. But what about the problem I came in for? And how could he completely disregard my GP's diagnosis without even examining me for it? All in all: uncaring, unprofessional, cocky, and with no urge to solve medical problems; it wasn't their first time acting this way. That much was clear. Don't believe they treat you to help you get better. It's for the money. I've reported their behavior to my network, who will be reconsidering their sub-partnership with Optim. read more

WOW! What a great experience my family is having with Optim Orthopedics! My first encounter with Optim Orthopedics (over the phone) was not good which resulted in only 2 stars from me sadly. But! I have to inform my Yelp family that I have a change in heart. Optim Orthopedics was quick to reach out to me and redirect my first impression with them. I spoke with the Director of Operations and she was informative, patient and pleasant with me (thank you). I hope that (Director of Operations) can pass her calm and assuring skills to her support staff. My daughter has had her first therapy with them and she has informed me, it's clean and they worked on her issues really good. ALWAYS end up waiting at LEAST 20 minutes past my appointment time just to get brought to a room. (Have waited over 90 minutes before!) The staff doesnt care and they are very rude and every time just to call in there is at least a 5 minute wait to speak to someone only to get transferred to a voicemail to leave a message and to never hear back! The urgent care clinic at Optim Orthopedics is wonderful. No appt necessary, no referral from your doctor. Beats the emergency room by light years. The staff was smiling and the PA knew his stuff. I left in less than an hour with the medicine I needed an appt in 2 weeks that will help in determining a long term plan. read more

I am a single father of two beautiful kids. My 9 year old son had his full leg cast cut off and the doctor recommended a walking boot as expected . But because of an inability to communicate with an insurance company, rather than put the DOCTOR RECOMMENDED boot on his foot, they taped the old stinky cast back on his leg. Yeah, digest that for a min......don't throw that away yet, we'll just handyman that bad boy right back on there because i could not afford to pay for the boot out of pocket. The 400$ they had already collected made sure of that. You should know I could access the insurance website on my phone without issue. They then suggest when the insurance issue got straightened out to come get the boot ( that you can buy for less than a quarter of the price on Amazon). I would have been happy to let my insurance pay the astronomical price for the boot if they were dumb enough to do so. The bigger issue for me is that any place that would allow a child to walk out their door with a cast taped to their leg is not a place fit to treat a child in the first place. With my blood boiling by this point from seeing the disappointment in my son's face, I fought the urge to "go off" while they were explaining how easy it would be for me to just take more time off to come back for the boot. I calmly stated that I'd continue his treatment elsewhere , still trying to maintain my composure because my kids were listening and watching. The only reply...."they'll still need to get his records from us". To be fair Dr. McCartney had excellent bedside manner and seemed very adept in his field. I can only assume the people that explained the " grab the cast out of the trash" treatment plan were doing so on his orders, or I'd at least hope those assisting him don't have the authority change, or interfere with his plan. read more

I recently moved to Savannah from Fl. I somehow injured my knee while moving. I woke up on a Saturday with excruciating pain. I was so happy when i found Optim urgent care. The happiness soon went away when they charged me $350. The Dr. I saw was great said the brace I was wearing would not do anything and recommended a hinged brace. The tech came in and said that if I got the brace from them it would be $225 or if I waited till Monday I could go to another place and it would be much cheaper. Cheaper? I paid $40 for that same brace and that was including a Dr to measure and make sure I got the right size. How can that even be allowed by the people who oversee the medical profession? Now back to Optim, I just received a statement that I owed another $77. What? No insurance and that visit is going to cost me over $400? I just finished a bankruptcy before I moved do you think I care if you go after me for that $77 dollars. Unbelievable so happy I moved to Savannah. read more

This is a very unprofessional practice there manners and they the handle complaints are not in the interested in the patient. I will take this future and looked into with a lawyer. It was no reason for me to even get discharge has a patient because of my Dr. Kalman leaving sending me to another physician who seen me every bit of 30 minutes saying he wants me to see the Mayo clinic. If he knows anything about the Mayo Clinic he will know that the waiting list is very long for that clinic have been on that list for a year. All because Dr. Panda I didnt want to have a spinal cord stimulator that I already had that was not successful. The office manager Paula Orr she disregard your complaints as it doesn't matter cause you not a patient there or never returns your calls. I had my first experience here today. Horrible! My child broke his arm Friday night. we had to Wait until Monday morning at 830 to call since we were referred here by the emergency room. I called at 8 with no answer. I called at 8 30 and was sent to the switch board after a few minutes where I sat on hold. She sent me back to the appointment center and told me to leave a message and they would get right back to me. I did. They finally did 45 min later. I was told the doctor I was referred to wouldn't be in until Wed OR Thursday. (What you don't know). I explained that the e.r. told me to get him in as soon as possible to get his arm set and cast. She found an appointment at 5 for him. We got there at 430 and of course weren't put in a room until 5:30 (half hour past our scheduled time) we sat in that room until 6:30 before we saw the doctor. He came in to tell me that we had to set up an appointment for wed or Thursday to set it. We sat there for another 20 minutes before the lady came in to tell me they might call Tomorrow (tues.) After 330 or wed. Morning with a time to come back and set it and cast it. Over 2 hours to tell me they would call me 2 to 3 days from now!!! 8 year old sitting there for over 2 hours with a bent ( literally) broken arm and I get told they'll call me! I drove across town in a tropical storm with an 8 year old to wait over 2 hours to be sent home again thru the same tropical storm. To wait or a phone call. What the HELL. I didn't even need to bring the kid, they didn't check hi m at all just looked all his xrays. They could b have done that without me even being there and called me to set up all to appointment. Worst experience in DOCTORS office I have ever had. Oh and my AUTISTIC son is still wondering why he is sitting here with a broken arm. The only explanation I could give was " because it's savannah son". SAD read more

I'll never come back to your facility, because you choose to employee a doctor that doesn't want to pay his bills with local contractors like myself after I spent 6 weeks making his yard perfect. The fact that you employee someone that feels they can do what they want and take advantage of the community business, especially a single father that has been fighting for his kid for 4 1/2 yrs, and think they are better than the rest of us just because they are a doctor and live in a multimillion dollar house. Your doctors and employees are a reflection of the kind of company and if you are willing employee people like that, reguardless if the are a senior partner, then I feel it necessary to let the public know this information. You expect to get paid for the services you provide and I also expect to be paid for the services I provided and especially when the job was done to perfection, which is what they were paying for. I think I'll use my 5,000 Facebook friends and my other 10's of thousands of friends social media to let savannah and the nearby counties know what kinds of doctors you hire, especially since you would stop at no ends to collect the debts of your patients. Shame on your company and shame on the doctor that works for you that feels they can take advantage of the working man or woman of savannah. read more

I have had nothing but good experiences at Optim Orthopedics. Yes the wait time can be long some times but you have to take into account HOW MANY patients each doctor sees on a daily basis. I even once had to wait 1.5 hours for the doctor to see me....I hate to be blunt but emergencies happen for these doctors with their patients....I have had several surgeries.....doctors were great and recovery was optimal. I even have the neural back stimulator.....100% satisfied.....is it perfect ....HECK NO.....but it helps tremendously....and yes I did have to have the steroid enjections to the lower lumbar section of my back......even with the stimulator......shyte happens and u need relief from the inflammation and residual pain that crops up sometimes....Dr. Kamalason (sp?), Dr.Niederwanger at Optim Pain Management, and so many other PA's and Nurse Practioners have been awesome as well as the sign in process is easier than it used to be so why is every one complaining....it takes time to make a HUGE medical practice like this to run smoothly. read more

We took our son in thinking he may have broke his arm. To find out it was nurses elbow. Dr Suess decided to put a blue splint instead of casting knowing he would only where it a day or so. I thought what a great guy for even doing that for my son...just to make him feel better. He wore it for the day and it was in the trash the next. Now I receive another Bill after I already paid 350 stating I owe another 350 for a cast splint . Really? That's a lot of money for a colored ace bandage with sticky on it. What a ripoff! I fell while coming down from a bunk bed and hurt most things on my left side from the head to the feet. When I called for the appt. I told them neck, shoulder, left lower back, left calf and left ankle and foot. They gave me an appointment for the next day. I saw a woman PA (Ansley) instead of Dr. Kamaleson. She seemed very distracted and was in and out of the room. At the time one of my biggest complaints was my left calf. Because it hurt so bad I was not walking correctly and it was throwing my right hip out because of the gait. When i told her this she said "I don't have anything about your complaints being on your calf". The only person I had told before her was the girl at the front desk who made the appt. I was sitting in front of her telling her and she ignored my calf problem BECAUSE THE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK DID NOT WRITE THAT DOWN! It was even quite swollen. She set me up for therapy. The therapists followed her instructions. They did nothing about the calf or acknowledged it! The equipment they put me on did not help my problems except for the neck stretcher did help with numbness and pain. Instead of my left side getting better they injured my right side. I could barely walk. I tried to talk to the therapists several times but did no good because they were following orders. On the last day I was there I had enough of it. The therapist took me to her computer and showed me what this PA had ordered and I found she had not listened to a thing I said. She was concentrating on my RIGHT HIP. My hip was hurting ONLY because the left side of my body was so messed up. The problem I see with this office is not the physical therapist but the PA that did not listen OR CARE. I tried to call the main office and leave a complaint. I got a voice mail and no one ever returned the call. I was to go back for a follow up and cancelled... Bad experience all around. Twice when scheduled to see the Dr. waited only to see PA instead. Referred for physical therapy and was charged over $460 for two visits and then did not receive any response when attempted to negotiate the bill. Impossible to get anyone from physical therapy department on the phone and no response to written letter. Horrible service for level of care that can be received elsewhere. read more

First and foremost, I want to begin writing this review not as a means to vent frustration or display negative and hurtful comments. Instead, I am writing this review as an offering to help and educate my fellow community members by simply sharing my own personal experience. The medical industry is one that is ever evolving with new techniques, practices, physicians, etc etc. Meanwhile, we the people, are constantly trying to keep up and find the best medical care we possibly can for either ourselves, loved ones, or friends...which sometimes only results in medical bills that can cripple us with debt. It can be so exhausting trying to find the right physician or facility for what we need. I first went to Chatham Orthopedics for a knee injury. I chose Chatham after several recommendations and well, frankly, that seems to be where everyone goes to get orthopedic care in Savannah. Unfortunately, I too, was left with no more than thousands of dollars of debt after not one, but TWO, knee surgeries. Today, I am still paying off those bills, and still dealing with knee problems that have continued to get worse, causing other tendon issues to occur. My last visit at Chatham was my doctor walking out of the room stating, "I'm sorry there's nothing else we can do for you." So, what did I do.... I contacted Optim Healthcare. Optim healthcare prides itself in being "doctor led, patient focused" and "built around an outstanding collaboration of the best physiciansin the region." Optim Healthcare states, "The focus is on you." I thought all of the above sounded fantastic! Although, when I called Optim, they REFUSED to see me because I was in the care of another doctor in town. I spoke to the doctor's secretary, and I informed her that it was absurd that the doctor didn't want to see me for this reason. The doctor should understand that if a patient is unhappy with their current doctor they remain hopeful that another doctor can help the problem. It was an awful feeling to be rejected by the only other orthopedic center in the area. I gave Optim one last chance though, and recommended my partner go see one of the physicians for an issue he had been having for quite some time. First off, he get's a vibrating buzzer to hold onto while he is in the waiting room as if he is waiting for a table at Applebees. So, immediately you feel belittled and just another person in the waiting room. Patient focused huh? Without any doctor seeing him, the nurse told him they needed to get an x-ray. Already, he is now paying hundreds of dollars, but okay! Fine.... he knew he would need an x-ray, it just seemed a little weird that the doctor didn't order it. Finally, the doctor gets into the room and the visit itself lasted a total of 4 minutes. Yep, 4 minutes!!!!! He walked in and said there was nothing wrong with my partner. He recommended him to pop some ibuprofren and be on his way. The doctor stands up and is now walking out of the room. My partner tries to stop him and ask, "Is that it?" Doc says, "Well we can have a physical therapist asses you, but you're probably just going to have to deal with the pain." Perhaps this sort of care is okay for some people, and yes, every patient differs from the next. However, I wonder if this doctor would say the same thing to his partner who has been suffering from orthopedic pain for months on end. I wonder if the doctor would tell his loved one, "deal with the pain." Anyways, I wish all of you the best of luck and I hope you find my experience helpful. read more

They asked me to call another number to get the bill corrected. When I called that number, they asked me to send a letter of complaint. They refuse to correct it. read more

The doctor who is treating me (Dr. Lawhorne) is caring and has an attitude of really wanting to help me rid of my back problems. My problem is the woman (named Sara) who works for Dr. L. When it comes to patient courtesy and caring she lacks a lot to be desired. On my first visit after I filled out the paperwork they asked where I get my medications (what pharmacy I use). I put down the Ft. Stewart pharmacy. Where does Miss Sara send the Rx Dr. L. made out for me.........to Wal Mart. I called and asked her why she did this but refused to answer, she just blew me off and said the Rx was sent to the Hinesville office and to pick it up there - no apologies or explanation. Her attitude is not one which is suitable for dealing with the public especially when you come in already hurting and then have to put up with people like "Sara". I was told she has been "spoken to" ref. her professional demeanor and that she is only there temporarily,, thank God for that. I think she needs to work at a place where she doesn't deal with the public. read more

I am currently going to see a doctor at Optim Orthopedics. The doctor that I am seeing is Dr. Christy. Not very pleased at all! The very first time that I met this doctor, I immediately picked up he was not on my side. My case is under Workers Comp and even though I was hurt on the job, you would think that I did something to the job. The very first time I came to see him, and I told him that I hurt my shoulder, he made that comment that it could not be too bad, after all I did drive down there. (which my husband was the one who drove me there). He then told me that he did not see anything on the xray as far as broken bones so he just stuck me in physical therapy and said he did not feel he needed to do an MRI at this time. I went to physical therapy for about a month, no better. Finally went back to see him and he ordered the MRI and made sure to make the comment that if there is nothing that shows on the MRI, he will have to let me go. Well it seems to me my care of service was out the door the first day I met him. I was observed by him, how I looked, meaning dressed, my jewelry, etc. I never knew if was a crime to still were a valentine's gift and anniversary gift from your husband just because you had an injury on the job. This is a doctor that I will never recommend to anyone not if they are going to be treated like me. Be caution when deciding doctors and make sure to check every review that is posted before making them your final choice for care. read more
