Lack of trash cans-there was always trash on the floor. Crowded rooms that make getting around with a walker very difficult for patients. Rooms are shared and bathroom is shared by 2 rooms, so 4 people. Staff had some bright spots, but most seemed like they would rather be somewhere else. Lots of standing around at nurses station and on cell phones. If they had time to stand around, could have been cleaning up. Food seemed decent and fairly plentiful. I would not recommend this facility. Wish I had done my homework before placing my parent there. Admin staff was decent and responsive but overall not a great place.

This place is horrendous. Anyone that puts a family member in this facility should be charged with…read moreabuse. My husband was transported there after having a major surgery. Transport brought him in, made his bed and put him in it. He was not seen by anyone from the facility for well over an hour and a half. Was not given a call bell and not able to get out of bed. Approximately 2 hours after being there, another patient was placed in his room. Transport and a person who I assume was a nurse, discussed the other patient in front of us. Which led us to be concerned for my husband's safety. This concern was brought up to two individuals at the facility and they did nothing to help. After 4 hours of my husband being completely ignored ( food service did offer him a meal) I called his doctor as well as his insurance company to get him removed immediately. I chose to remove him myself and took him back to the hospital he was discharged from. I ended up bringing him home for a week before he was properly placed in a fantastic rehab facility. He spent 7 days at the new facility and is now home. So this incident happened 16-17 days ago. Yesterday Adult Protective Services showed up at my house because they got a report that I removed my husband from the facility against doctors orders. He never was even checked by a nurse let alone a doctor! I believe this report was made because I reported this place to my insurance company!

Shortly after, we noticed water leaking into the room and called a nurse. She responded quickly, cleaned it up, and made sure there were no further issues, which we appreciated. After my spouse was admitted, we were moved to another room, and unfortunately, there was dried blood on the floor there as well. The doctor even asked if my spouse had been bleeding because of it. We appreciate the care and service from the staff, but this is the second time we've had a bad experience here. We're definitely a bit of clean freaks, but we also feel like a hospital should be one of the cleanest places, especially when patients are already dealing with health concerns. We're sharing this feedback because we genuinely hope it gets addressed so another patient or family doesn't have the same experience.

I was admitted to the trauma unit and after all the testing, not one doctor came in and told me that I was going to be OK I could barely breathe nor could I barely walk. I was hit by two different cars. They literally pointed out the two Brown doors and told me that's the way out one thing I could at least say about Hilton head hospital they would've made sure that you got to your car safely and they would've watched you all the way out. Y'all definitely need to think about the working with and come with some sort of compassion for them. Not to mention to get any financial aid for $50,000 bill is almost nearly impossible. We have been trying to get the paperwork for months now just ridiculous.
