I've been coming here for years for eye exams, and also to buy some of my glasses. For the last several years, I've had the luck of seeing the same ophthalmologist so they are familiar with my eyes. Appointments are easy to make online or you can call. Everyone working here has always been friendly and helpful. The eye exams are done right and are so different from what I was younger, lots of good gadgets. I get magazine every year through my insurance because I am diabetic and I only opt out of the one test that requires dilation because I'm usually driving myself. I can drive when my eyes are dilated, but I don't feel as comfortable as I used to. I have purchased a few pairs of glasses from them over the years and have always been happy with them. My only issue this time is that the cost of the frames has gone up quite a bit and my lenses are not cheap to make anyway. My pair of glasses was almost $800 but thankfully my insurance paid about half of it. I'll be paying for these for a while on my card, but I'm very happy with the glasses I got. If you're looking for glasses or contacts, I can safely recommend this location. I've had bad luck with other companies in past years and it was glad when I stumbled on this one. read more

Optical Outlets - Frames - Optometrists Near Me - Davenport, Florida

First time coming to Optical Outlets. They provided vision test for both my wife and I. The optometrist was very nice and provided vision test for us. She helped answer all questions my wife and I had about our vision test. The experience was very fast and courteous. The optical had a variety of options at a fare price. read more

Good care, eye exam doctor very knowledgeable, office environment really nice. Nice attitude from all the staff

**Update:** 2/20 Picked up my new glasses today in and out in 10 minutes and everything was perfect... Today, I received a call from the store manager. She was a very pleasant individual. I did receive the referral, and my impression was that the issue was not being addressed, but it was. She is providing me with all the necessary information, and it was being resolved promptly. In my haste, I may have written this review prematurely. However, my referral is now with the doctor, and all necessary actions are being taken. I believe the store may have had more issues with their call center, where calls were received but not responded to. I was unable to reach the call center and return calls. I am very pleased with the follow-up call and information. First Review I recently visited this eye clinic for an eye exam, which went smoothly. The doctor was excellent. However, unfortunately, the doctor discovered that I have glaucoma. As I worked with the specialist after the doctor to order the glasses, which I had to pay a little extra for out of my pocket, the cost of which the insurance did not cover, she informed me that she would submit the referral to my insurance company. I asked how long she said that afternoon. Unfortunately, it's already two days later, now going on three tomorrow, as I still haven't received the referral. Attempting to contact them directly is impossible, resulting in being transferred to the switchboard all the time, who said they would leave a message, but I never received a call back. read more

The professionalism is Great. I felt comfortable going in the establishment The Dr was good at explaining everything to me so I can understand things. I did not take photos yet but I will be making another review when I get my glasses and sunglasses read more

I ordered my glasses 20 days ago, it take 10 days on average to get them back. No one seems to know where my order is or when it will be here, initially I gave a great review for the service, however I will not be returning to this location due to being given the run around and feeling like my order doesn't matter. I paid $88 for a pair of progressive lenses with transition and not one employee cared to look into it for me or call me back I spent the last 3 days chasing down phone calls being passed around with terrible customer service. It should not take a month to get a pair of glasses and it is unacceptable to chase down staff to look for it only to be told over and over they'll call you back. I asked for a refund and then I was told let me look into it and we will call you back. Guess what no one called me back.... read more

I had an appointment and the staff and doctor were nice and seemed to know what they were doing, HOWEVER - I need to pick up another trial pair of contacts until mine come in. DO THEY NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES???? I have called the number 3 times this morning. First time, on hold for over 10 minutes, then it started ringing and rang for another 3 minutes--I hung up. Called back-was hung up on. Third call - (real time) I am currently STILL on hold and it's been 7 minutes AND 34 seconds of listening to the same recording. Still haven't been about to talk to anyone! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE when you can't even reach them! Once I get my contacts, I will NOT be going back. I'd rather pay a little more money for a more reliable place. read more

Do not go to this place; it is a nightmare. First, I went in person as a walk-in. They had a big sign. Oh, we kept well in. They did not accept well-ins after all, so it was no big deal. I made an appointment. A few days later, I received a phone call below with a voicemail indicating to contact the clinic, which I did. NO ONE knows why a staff member called me. Fast forward to the same day of my appointment, they called me again and canceled my appointment after waiting a month. Shame on them. . read more

I am very impressed with the level of service at this location. They always greet you with a smile when you walk in the door and make sure to check on what services you are, therefore. Everyone from the front desk to the doctors to the young ladies, helping with ordering your glasses or contacts, are very friendly and courteous. I've been coming to this location for two years and I highly recommend them, keep up the great job! read more

Snake oil salesmen aren't a thing of the past...they are just working at optical stores now Made an appointment for the first available opening to see the doctor for an eye exam. The appointment was 4.5 weeks out. The day finally came and I showed for my appointment. Checked in and was directed to fill out their neat online document by scanning a QR code only it didn't work and the receptionist knew it didn't work for days now but still directed me to fill it out. While waiting to see the doctor I observed many notices posted about social distancing and how to properly wear a mask in the store. Perhaps they should include it in the break room or employee manual because 3 of the 7 employees were not wearing their masks correctly with it pulled down below their nose. Also on the notice it stated that only patients/optical customers were allowed in the store. No children, guests or spouses allowed and the amount of customers in the store was limited to 10. Before I left for the day there was 16 people in the store including one ladies with four kids, three other couples. Last part of the notice stated that if you try on frames to please place them in a tray and turn them in so they can be cleaned before going back on the rack. Yet, customer after customer were slipping on frames and putting them right back on the wall. There was one employee who kept trying to get the other employees to mind their customers but they must work on commission so no attention was directed to the potential COVID spreaders. Speaking of commissions, let's get to the best part of the story with the snake oil salesmen. After waiting more than 50 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor I was directed to an employee named John to pick frames and order my lenses. John was pretty helpful since I normally have my wife to help me choose (but remember she wasn't allowed). After we sat down and he took just measurements of my eyes with some pre-historic techniques. Any other optical store I have been to has some nifty device you place up to your face and it measures you eye distances. John instead used a dry-erase marker and wrote on the frames I was interested in. John then got to the costs and they were significantly more than the deal that brought me to this particular store. When I made him aware of the package deal he says, "oh, that deal." He takes me over to a small section of frames that were all plastic and hideous and way to small for my face. These frames reminded me of kids frames but for fashion model kids. John went back to his computer and the deal that was supposed to be $300 out the door for two progressive lenses, frames, and the doctors appointment was now $395 but John pointed out this included glare protection, better lens material and could even include transitions. This now turn the conversation for my second frames to sunglasses. We then went to the sunglass rack where John pointed me to a nice pair of gun-metal gray lenses that I liked. Once John entered this in to the computer the price now jumped to $429. Not happy at this point but I let the show go on. On to archaic measurements again which required John to search all over the store for a piece of plastic so he could see my eyes through there tinted lenses. Now the humdinger. John stars entering the order into the computer for both frames, lenses and my prescription and the price repeatedly jumps to $589. So rather than understand the problem with the pricing issue he looks at me says, 'what do you want to do?" At this point I ask what my bill is for the doctor appointment, paid and got out of there before the stupidity of the situation got any worse. If snake oil salesmen were martial art students then John would be a solid Blue Belt on his way to Brown but I definitely the possibility of a Black Belt in his future. read more

Out of town and my glasses break. I found Optical Outlets online. Stopped in, the took me immediately, repaired my glasses and didn't charge me a dime. Obviously, I highly recommend Optical Outlets!!! Thanks you!!!! read more

This place is the worst optical I've ever been to and I've been wearing glasses my whole life. When you get there no one acknowledges you unless you directly ask for help, the wait to pick up my glasses was 1 hour after no one even called to say they were ready and the doctor rushed me in and out in less than 5 mins. He had me look at 2 slides and said I was done. He also told me there was no time that day to dilate my eyes although I had an appointment. NEVER AGAIN! read more

This is by far the WORST experience I've ever had at an eye doctors office in my entire life. I've been to everything from LensCrafters to private eye doctors and lots in between. This place is open on Saturdays and pretty late in the afternoons so I decided to try it. Huge mistake. I waited FOREVER for my appointment. The eye doctor was nice and did a good exam. But they were pretty salesy unlike literally every other eye doctor I've been to. It was like visiting a used car lot instead of a doctor. The office staff are horrendous. They are slow and rude. I had to explain myself a ton of times to get what I needed. It took WEEKS for my contacts to come in. I've been wearing contacts and glasses for 20 years, lived in 4 different states, seen many eye doctors and discount eye doctor offices and have never had an experience like this. I will never EVER return. read more

Dr cancels day of appointments. I then get mad walk in and ask if this dr is in just to hear what they say. Sure enough the dr is there. So why they called to tell me he was sick? Lies! I then set up an appointment at the Lakeland office got in ASAP and got better customer service. I got everything here. I did have to wait for about 30 mins to speak to a lady about eye glasses. Stephanie was extremely nice and helped me out the most. Davenport location is new. They don't know how to run this branch just yet I suppose. read more

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Our family of six all went and got an eye exam and had glasses done. Their selection is very poor and not a lot of variety to choose from. When some of the glasses were done I got a message that were ready to pick them up, and some other ones I never got a notification. Found out through their website that had been done and ready for pick up more than a week ago. Me and two other members of my family started having headaches with the new glasses. Went back and because were done with a wrong prescription had to be remade. A lot of mistakes that wasted a lot of time. Not a positive experience overall. Will go to another place next time. read more

Avoid this place. They called me to come in and pick up my order but Drove down to find out that I was call by mistake. Then when I do go to pick up my order, it isn't what I was told or expecting. Very poor experience! read more

I gave one star because I am very dissatisfied with the quality of my lenses. My first set of lenses were less than six months old and the coating came off. I was "graciously " given a new set of lenses because my other lenses were not used by Optical Outlets anymore. I now have news lenses that are only about 3 weeks old and they have developed a crack in the corner. I did not drop my glasses or hit them with anything. I am very disgusted and dissatisfied with the quality of my lenses. I would not recommend going here for glasses. read more

I was hesitant to come here because I saw they had no previous reviews, so let me be the first to say this place is AMAZING. I had my first appointment and was in and out within an hour. I was so impressed by how kind and friendly everyone was. The office is sparkling clean. The Dr and all staff were all professional and courteous in answering all my questions and I never once felt like I was being "upsold" on anything, I felt like they were honest in trying to find the best fit in contacts/glasses for me. And they had great prices and deals, too! I'd say the only drawback is that they didn't have as many frames in the styles I prefer, but this is to be expected of a smaller store. I will definitely be returning to this location for anything I need in the future! read more

Second time visiting this location and service was just as awesome! I was really impressed with the staffing and how efficient they were in following COVID-19 protocol. Jenny was there again and this time she helped me pick my frames out. She was just as friendly and bubbly as before and explained the Sunbit process to me which helped me make my decision. My eye exam was done in a timely manner, and Amber was very professional when calling to let me know my frames were ready for pick up. Love this store 10/10 for sure!! read more

LOUD & SMALL! Everything echoes! Layout is also horrible! Don't waste your time, money, etc not worth it! Find an online doctor!

Absolutely amazing customer service from start to finish. Everyone is so kind and pleasant. This is the only place my family will get eye exams and glasses. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Dr. Roberts is friendly, helpful, and explains everything to you. My children love that he spends the time talking to them about their eyes. He makes them feel important. To me, that just shows how awesome this place is. I cannot recommend this place enough. They were so awesome helping my children choose their glasses. As far as customer service this place should be the model. Jenny is wonderful. When it is your first time wearing contacts in a long time and you learn it isn't like riding a bike, Jenny is the one who will make you laugh, show you patience, and encourage you until you figure it out. Jenny literally gives every customer VIP treatment. In times like these, it is so refreshing to find a great Doctor and staff. read more

New members of our family went to get eye exam and glasses. Had appointments. Waited 45 minutes even with pre-appointment After exam waited another 45 minutes to pick out glasses. One member waited double the time to get new glasses. The other longer than that One family member was given new glasses that were filthy, not adjusted and no carrying case. One set was not usable. The other could not clean the scum off lenses which were very heavy. Went back to store. Receptionist in a store with no customers made is wait 10 minutes for cleaning and adjustment. Rudely pointed out that daughter should not wear glasses where they were on nose. "Only readers should be worn there." Well....they were readers. She never apologized. Two sets of brand new glasses unusable. Called their corporate office twice. District manager never returned call. Our insurance company sent us to local established store for new exam and lenses. In reviewing the glasses that were unusable they noted one set was double the prescription therefore that's why they were unusable. The other set had heavy plastic defective lenses which was not what we wanted. In addition the lenses were popping out of fame. The girl at Optical Outlet said that was "Normal" The redo on eye exam by the established local firm demonstrated a dangerous issue for one family member that the previous doctor at Optical outlet completely missed. New glasses were ordered through the local established eye location, the insurance company covered the redo and we will never return to optical outlets. One star is one star too many. read more
