This place is now called "Colorado Eye Gallery at University Blvd". I'm not sure why it says "Optical Masters" on Yelp, but maybe it's associated with both names. Anyway my eye exam went fine up until the very end when I told Dr. Philip that I wasn't ready to buy frames so could he please email me my new eye prescription. His disposition immediately changed and he replied, "so you're just going to waste your benefits?" Implying that if I didn't purchase frames from him I would be wasting my VSP benefits. I obviously can purchase glasses anywhere and file a claim to my insurance. That wasn't even the point I just wasn't ready to PURCHASE frames today. My insurance gave me a $130 allowance and even after that, the frames were going to cost quite a lot. However, me not being ready to pay the extra on frames had nothing to do with him or his location, and had he replied differently I would have considered coming back to more seriously look at his collection. He was obviously annoyed at the assumption that I did not want to buy his frames. Ultimately, his response turned me off to the place and that's why I didn't buy frames from him. His response should have been, "No problem, when you are ready to buy frames come and see me." That would have been the professional thing to say. But, he didn't, so I won't be doing business here. Also I asked for my PD measurement and this place was weird about it saying they won't give that to me unless I buy frames, or pay $45 out of pocket for the measurement. I've been to other eye doctors and they gave me my PD measurement with no fuss and no extra charge. The eye exam was fine and as long as you are 100% prepared to purchase frames from his collection, your visit should be fine. I think a certain level of professionalism should still be maintained even if someone is not ready to buy frames, though. read more
