By the way, when they examine your eyes you only get a written prescription if you pay an extra $49 beyond your insurance (Medicare & Aetna; Medicare will be contacting them); I paid the extra and still didn't get a written prescription!!

I called my local eye center, who emailed me my prescription so I could have it on my cell phone. I went to the Woodburn WalMart Vision Center and explained my situation. They graciously, without batting an eye, gave me a trial contact to replace the one I had lost. I laughingly told them not only did I thank them, but everyone who would be on the road with me thanked them as well. Woodburn again showed its wonderful hospitality and kindness to strangers! I am 81-year-old man and am confined to a wheelchair for mobility…read more I was scheduled for my first appointment here at The Woodburn Vision Source. We did not know where this office was located, and so we called for directions as we driving into town. The problem was the directions they gave us were for coming from the opposite direction that we were coming from. It took a few minutes to figure out the error and then loop around after we discovered that the directions were bad. We arrived a few minutes late and was told that the appointment had to be rescheduled to another time. I then asked the receptionist to ask the Dr. if I can still be seen today. The receptionist left to check with the Dr. She came back in a while saying the Dr. said we were too late. So, I was rescheduled to a couple of more weeks out. I'm having a concern that as a new patient, I may be subjecting myself to brash treatment, disrespect and unaccommodating or considering my circumstances. What will they treat me like in any follow up appointments? Customer Service is very important to me. When I was still working not that long ago; selling my art at festivals I had great pride in giving my customers the utmost respect, working together with and for them to achieve the most satisfaction for both them and me.

It helps to have confidence in the person who is looking out for your eye health, which I do. My only comment would be perhaps give your clients/patients a tray to look so if they are going back to dr to look at eyes dilated they do not feel rushed. I could have taken about 30 more minutes to look and feel way more comfortable and not feel rushed but it's all been handled. Or next time I may just pull the person I work with aside and say hey let me take my time and help another person I'll wait and let you know when I'm ready as I have some disabilities (no need to share). I can say my whole family has been seen and gotten glasses from there now. Thanks for making things right and being helpful in solving issues! We will be back.
