I had a hit to the eye and was worried about a scratched cornea. I had never been to this clinic but called and the doctor was willing to squeeze me in same-day even though they were full. I'm one who has anxiety surrounding anything eye-related and have had bad experiences in the past. Dr. Hoover was calm, patient, down to earth, wasn't pushy, and took his time to thoroughly explain things to me. It was the first eye exam that was positive for me. I'd recommend him to everyone! The receptionist was unwelcoming , set the mood in the office poor. She came up with excuses not to even go look to see if they had samples in for contacts. then refused to give me my eye prescription written out until I ordered from them. they also tried to charge me over $860 to get contacts from them. People go online for your contacts this place is a joke and over priced. I genuinely will no longer be going to this office just because of that. The office may have upgraded into a better facility but down graded in staff. Any Optometry doctor can get you a prescription, do not settle for entitled unprofessional and poor customer service. I'm giving this two stars only because Dr. Hoover is a nice guy and very professional. He just has poor staff. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Capitol Eye Care. Came for my own contacts prescription months ago - and because of the good experience, when we had an unfortunate eye trauma occur for my 7 year old son - we came here and Dr. Hoover was wonderful. He was calm, patient, encouraging and walked us through treatment, which put us on to a road of full recovery. He even met us on his day off, to keep a close monitor. Feeling so thankful for his expertise and support through a stressful situation. read more

Went in for contacts, the exam felt rushed. Once I was through with I was sent home with contacts that were "trial pair" only food for a month when I returned to grab my "original order" it turned out to be a week supply of disposable trial lenses. Ok I get that it takes time to fit your eye to a contact but I would have much more appreciated some clear communication when moving forward with this process. If you do choose to recieve service from this office. Be very clear and double check your order before you leave the store. read more

I called Capitol Eye Care twice this evening to check on the status of I glasses. I left a voicemail and they never called back. When I was finally able to speak to a lady, she had stated the glasses were ready to be picked for a while, claiming they had tried calling, but we never received any missed calls or message from them. When I went to pick up the new frames, we waited for 15 minutes with no one asking if we needed help. They just stayed at the counter while talking about their personal life to another employee. Not even acknowledging that we were there waiting or getting another person to help us. A Staff member from a back room came up and asked if we needed help, so she got the new frames and tried forcing the lens into the new frames, which took another 5 minutes. She then said she was not able to get it in and said she will need his lens and new frames to send out for technician to do it. This will take more days because she doesn't know when they will be fixed. We have been waiting for two weeks already and then to have them not even get them into the exact same frames as his replacement broken ones. The Capital Eye place employees were rude from the start. Not welcoming at all, or professional. read more

Purchased glasses today at capitol eyecare for my daughter . The eye doctor she went to would not except our insurance for glasses . So we were forced to call around looking for someone who would . The staff there went the extra mile for us and even looked up different colors in a frame she liked . They were all so nice and helpful . I picked out my glasses and everything was good, when they call me in because my glasses had arrived it was a different pair from what I ordered. They weren't even similar and asked to pay more money almost double of what I paid the first time. I understand everyone makes mistakes but, they didn't even acknowledge that it was their mistake. I waited to do a review until my glasses arrived so I could assess the entire process. I liked all of it. They were able to schedule quickly, the doctor is very professional and explained things with my eyes in a way that made sense, and the staff were great. My favorite part was the assistant I received picking out new glasses. I haven't been wearing glasses long, and she let me look around and see what I liked, but she was also brilliantly honest. She told me that as someone with a round shaped face square glasses would work well, and she was right! I love the look, gotten great compliments, and they're more comfortable! They came in right on time and she explained the cleaning and warranty with me. read more

Worst retail experience ever. My eyeglasses were to take 10-12 business days to be delivered. We are in the 6th week since the order was place, and no glasses. I first called 2 weeks ago (twice) and left messages. No one returned my calls. Apparently no one checks for messages. Called again the next day and they actually answered the phone. They were apologetic, and said the glasses were in the inspection line and should ship within a day or two. A week later I was told the glasses were being inspected and should be delivered by Wednesday. Nope. Called again, left a message. They had the new guy call me back, and he said the glasses were being inspected and should be here next week. Six weeks in and still no glasses. And I have absolutely no faith I'll get them next week. Worst customer service and follow up I think I've ever seen on a retail level. My guess is someone did not submit the order and they've been covering their tracks. I'll update this review if I actually receive my glasses. Hopefully they got the prescription correct, but at this point I have my doubts. read more

If you need safety glasses, DO NOT go here. If you need help, DO NOT expect it from Kim. I had a form filled out and frames picked out from my company website. I preauthorized my credit card as I usually select options not covered by my company. Kim was completely lost. She asked me three times if I had already purchased safety glasses because I preemptively added the credit card information according to the paperwork. She was short and not helpful. I asked what the cost options were and instead of being helpful she snapped at me and said she didn't know but that usually the more expensive options are better. She went on to say that she did know how long they were going to continue to provide safety glasses as it is always a hassle. All they do is fill out the form and send it in, which she confirmed. I had come in a week ago to get the form filled out, and I had to make an appointment. I did that. Now I am here and Kim is basically short, rude and not helpful. I was a patient here years ago and I left because of the treatment. This is my only option in Salem, so I came back after going to Woodburn 3 years ago. The worst customer service I have ever had. She is the professional, see didn't want to help me from the point I walked in the door. I STRONGLY encourage you to take your business else where, of if you choose to use this facility avoid Kim. read more
