Then I got a bill in the mail for an additional $100 for the contacts I was told were covered by my insurance. Had I know the contacts were going to cost more than I was told I would have only ordered the allocated amount from insurance and then used another place to order more. The same thing happened to my husband. Same issue with being over-charged at first. Luckily I had told him to question the price. Then he also received a bill for an additional $40 for his contacts. This place is a rip-off.

The optometrist told me that it was the fault of the company that placed the lenses in the frames. Effectively, it was a bad break for me. My wife and I stopped going to Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida, even though we liked the optometrist.

We got another appointment but kept having to reschedule because I have a special needs child. When I tried to set another appointment to get the actual prescription I should have gotten on the first try, they said I owe a fee for the cancelled appointments AND I have to pay for another appointment where I may or may not get the prescription again. Don't go there, they make you pay extra one way or another. They make you wait at least 30 minutes after your appointment time. They shove another sales opportunity at you with the eye therapy... conveniently not covered by insurance.

Daniel helped setup my appointment over the phone and explained any questions I had. Once I got there I was greeted by Daniel and he took me in one of the rooms to take an eye exam. Daniel is very calm and very patient, as he explained everything in great detail along the way. I have been wearing glasses my entire life so I wanted to try Contact Lenses for the first time. Shortly after Dr. Vo came in and explained everything to me regarding my eye exam and any questions I had about contact lenses. Dr. Vo was very patient in explaining everything to me about contacts, and she simply put the lenses in my eye so show me how painless this was going to be. Finally I walked around the store in search of a pair of new glasses as well, the store is very clean and well organised. Finally I got to meet Ellie who is probably one of the sweetest people I have met in my life. Ellie helped me in picking out my frame and explaining all the different options and add ons along with pricing as I do not have insurance. Their office was very understanding with the add ons I selected for my glasses. I have been back to this office another 2 times for additional testing on my eyes due to some concerns from Dr. Vo. The staff are very friendly and professional and managed to work us in with in 45 min. The Dr provided a thorough and complete eye exam and set him up to try the contacts. The staff were very patient in teaching my husband how to care for the lens, remove and insert. I mean very patient. We were extremely pleased with our experience. The costs were very competitive.

I had PanOptix placed in my eye Feb 7th, 2020. This lens did not work for me, I did have 20/20 vision, but the rings and halos ruined my night vision and I was in great distress. The surgeon that placed it in my eye would not remove it. I was running out of time as I was almost 5 months post op from PanOptix and this lens needed to get removed quickly if it were going to be successfully removed and replaced with a Crystalens. I began my search for a doctor that would replace the lens and give me back my beautiful night vision. Dr. Mahootchi listened to me, heard my despair and told me I didn't have to live like this and that he would do a lens exchange for me. Because I felt so confident in him through reading of his experience and all his wonderful reviews on many forums I decided to take the trip across the country, even during a pandemic and see him!
