After basically being dumped on by my previous provider, I went to Clarkson with two pairs of…read morebroken glasses and less than a year out from my exam. I had spoken to the girls on the phone and their can-do, positive attitude gave me confidence to try them. I was not disappointed. It took some doing on their part, but they found frames that would fit my lenses and I walked out being able to see and not fight with one earpiece and a mask. Five stars plus!

The staff in the reception area are so kind, and very knowledgeable in letting you know what is covered under your plan. I never have to wait too long to be seen. In fact, all of my appointments have been on time. The technicians are great with getting you through each eye test station, and scanning the back of the eye with all the latest technology. It's an additional cost (not covered) for the OCT, but it's well worth it. It's highly recommended if you have a family history of glaucoma (like me). I've been seeing Dr. Hollis and Dr. Wright for 3 years now. They are both wonderful. They've been great in addressing all of my concerns, and offering great solutions. I've also been super happy with the opticians. I wasn't really able to wear progressive lenses until coming to this practice. I'm not sure why. All I can say is that every pair I've received here have been perfect. Picking out frames by myself has never been an easy task. The opticians here have always been able to find the right frames for the shape of my face. They make the whole frame shopping experience seamless and pleasant. I never feel rushed to make a decision. I never feel like they are trying to sell me expensive frames, unless I'm leaning that way. They truly have a knack for finding the right fit, and at a good price range. I don't think I've ever had an issue with the finished product. It's always a great experience!

This place is a scam. My mother went in for an eye exam that was confirmed when she made the…read moreappointment as being $55 under AARP and then they told her it was $75 after she "signed in". They said that because she signed in they went ahead and charged her. They refused to give out the full prescription and then blamed the mistake in the charge on AARP. I called to straighten this out and they hung up on me. When I called back they handed the phone to someone else. If you DON'T understand what AARP has you listed for, you shouldn't just randomly charge someone more because they don't understand the mistake and you aren't able to explain it correctly. In addition, they didn't even provide the full prescription. Let's recap - you confirmed $55 on the phone, charged $75 and then don't even provide the full prescription? Gotta love a place that takes advantage of the elderly. I wear glasses and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Update: AARP is sending a refund for the amount overcharged because this establishment didn't honor the pricing they must have agreed to in order to be added to the list of providers.

My original appointment was already unpleasant because the staff were rude and condescending, which…read moreis why I decided I would never return. Unfortunately, my recent experience trying to obtain my own contact-lens prescription confirmed that decision. I called only to learn the brand and prescription information for the contacts I previously wore. After verifying my identity and account information, the employee refused to provide it over the phone and said I had to register for their patient portal. I explained that I intentionally do not use their portal and requested the prescription by email instead. The manager then became argumentative, insisted I was wrong, and claimed HIPAA requires the email to be encrypted. That is not accurate. HHS explicitly states that patients may request their health information by unencrypted email after being warned of and accepting the security risk. The FTC also states that an eye-care provider cannot use HIPAA as a barrier to electronically providing a prescription. I would have gladly verified my identity, signed a request, or acknowledged the risks of ordinary email. Instead, management spoke to me condescendingly, gave me inaccurate information about my legal rights, and attempted to force me into a portal I never agreed to use. I will not return and will be filing complaints with the appropriate agencies regarding access to my prescription.
