When I walked into the space, the man working greeted me quickly and said I could fill out a small paper choosing my favorite piece, and they do a 'best in show' every month, based on the votes. That painting will be featured and the artist gets a ribbon too. It made the experience interactive, which I really enjoyed. Can't wait to see who wins!

Well, no time for any of that anymore, so when I need something framed, I go straight to East West and talk to Lianne. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my framing needs.

I love Cannon Art Gallery and wish it showed more than two exhibitions in a year…read more That said, the two they had in 2024 were very cool. The first, curated by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, featured wonderful and intimate photographs of many rock and roll and blues legends, by Baron Wolman, Rolling Stone magazine's first chief photographer. Some I'd seen before, and many I was seeing for the first time. The second exhibition focused on fiber arts, and it was really interesting, surprising and inspiring. Artists interpreted "fiber" in many different ways and their creations were terrific. My favorite was a kimono made from tea bags. Mounting an exhibition takes a lot of work, and the caliber of shows at this gallery is excellent. And, the price of admission is zero. The next exhibition at this special venue is scheduled to open in February 2025. I don't know what it will be, but I will definitely be checking it out!

I'm definitely coming here so I can have my own little art gallery in my house. I love to support local businesses and artist!

The Carlsbad Sculpture Garden is a small, delicious slice of the city's cultural arts program. The exhibit changes a couple times a year, and the styles are diverse & fun. It's situated in the backyard of the old Cultural Arts Office, resting on one of the quietest blocks in the area. The garden's about a mile from the beach, so the coastal air rolls in heavy. Keep in mind - the garden is small. Very small. But what's perhaps lacking in space is made up for in artistic punch. There's always at least six sculptures at a time, and the collections typically come from local North County artists. I like swinging by when I have short breaks in the day & need a peaceful place to unplug. Mosey through the exhibit. Relax and meditate a bit. Foot-traffic is light in this area, so there's a good chance you'll be the only guest during your visit. **TIP** Entrance is free & so are the opening receptions to new exhibits. Check the city's calendar to catch some art, complimentary food & drinks, plus live music.

We enjoy the peacefulness of it and the sculptures as well. However, lately there has been an excessive amounts of ants. Yes, I know we're outside and of course there will be bugs, but the ants are crawling up the kiddos, crawling on the strollers and it's starting to become a deterrent. As much as I enjoy heading over there, I don't enjoy getting attacked by ants, so we may have to take a break and hopefully it's not as bad.

Overall we really loved this gallery and the selection! I hope to visit Oceanside again so we can stop by!
